Thank you to Cake Emporio for my beautiful and delicious wedding cake. I had several guests ask me for the bakery because they loved it.

Isabel and Gabriela make the best team, they were so helpful and accommodating. They made sure that the cake for my special day was perfect. Not only is the flavor amazing but the quality of the art is insane. Could not recommend anyone better!!

My husband and I had a delicious cake tasting. They even prepared two Gluten Free flavors for me. I have a sensitivity, not Celiac Disease, so the slices were in the same box. Which is fine for me. I had no trouble after eating the cake and we booked them on the spot! Cake Emporio works with my venue The Cooper Estate so it was a no-brainer for us. We just had to pay an upcharge for two GF layers. A few months later I noticed everything about the invoice was wrong so Gabby and I worked to fix it. At the wedding, almost everything was right. I only ate the top layer (supposed to be GF). I felt ok at first but was sick the next morning. Something similar happened the next night when I had another slice. Be wary if you are GF. I'm not sure what set me off. Overall, the cake was beautiful, spongy (like cake should be), and my guests enjoyed it.

Contratamos a Cake Emporio para nuestra boda el 26 de septiembre de 2025. Pedimos una torta negra colombiana para 60 personas, decorada en blanco con detalles verdes que combinaran con los colores de nuestra celebración. Hicimos el tasting y todo parecía estar en orden.

El problema surgió el día de la boda, a la hora de la entrega. En lugar de descargar la torta en una zona segura frente al lobby (la única área lógica y adecuada para este tipo de entregas), el personal de Cake Emporio siguió la indicación de alguien del hotel de subir el carro con la torta por una rampa extremadamente empinada, de aproximadamente 45 grados. Como era de esperarse, durante el intento la torta se dañó completamente. Es difícil entender cómo alguien con más de 30 años de experiencia no se negó a realizar una maniobra tan riesgosa y claramente evitable.

En respuesta, Cake Emporio decidió regresar a su fábrica para preparar una torta dummy (falsa) con la intención de al menos tener algo en la mesa. Pero esta solución no resolvió el problema. La torta improvisada no cumplió con la estética acordada ni alcanzó para todos los invitados. Ni siquiera nosotros, los novios, pudimos probar la torta de nuestra propia boda.

Al día siguiente, nos comunicamos esperando una disculpa sincera y una compensación razonable. En su lugar, recibimos una respuesta desafiante, sin asumir responsabilidad alguna. Nos ofrecieron apenas $100 de reembolso y un crédito en tienda, a pesar de que habíamos pagado cerca de $1,400. Más adelante, y solo después de insistir, nos ofrecieron $200 para regresarlos a nuestra tarjeta, pero condicionados a que firmáramos un documento comprometiéndonos a no hablar negativamente de ellos. Por supuesto, nos negamos.

Después de esta experiencia, no podemos recomendar esta empresa. Lo decepcionante no fue solo el error el día del evento, sino también la falta de criterio profesional durante la entrega y, sobre todo, la manera en que enfrentaron el reclamo. Una empresa con esa trayectoria debería tener mejores estándares y actuar con empatía ante situaciones tan sensibles como una boda.

Our experience with Cake Emporio was deeply disappointing, and I feel obligated to share this to help other couples avoid similar issues on their wedding day.

Key issues we experienced:

Misrepresentation of Services:
We paid an additional $250 specifically for sugar flowers
Received primarily silk flowers instead when mentioned we wanted zero silk flowers.
When confronted, Isabel claimed silk flowers were "part of the collection," contradicting our paid upgrade
Cake Construction Issues:
Delivered an entirely fake display cake with no cutting portion, despite charging for and promising a partial real cake for the traditional cutting ceremony.
Had to stage fake cake-cutting photos from specific angles
Sheet cake portions were significantly smaller than the agreed-upon 40 servings each of coconut guava and chocolate with chocolate ganache.
The potions were for a tasting.... not the actual event.
Unprofessional Conduct:
Vendor entered venue unauthorized during our ceremony to add flowers to the cake
When contacted post-wedding to address these issues, Isabel was dismissive and refused to acknowledge the documented agreements
Denied previous discussions about the real cake portion for cutting.

I attempted to resolve these issues directly with Isabel, but was met with dismissive responses and denial of our agreements, despite having documentation. This experience significantly impacted our wedding day, forcing us to fake traditional moments that should have been genuine.
