My now wife and I had our wedding at Takk in ‘23 and could not be happier with how everything went! From our first initial meetings we knew we were in good hands. Having never been through this before, we initially felt overwhelmed about planning but after selecting Takk and working with Heidi, so much was taken off our plate and we were given clear guidance on timelines, expectations and deadlines in ways that was professional, gave us confidence and made the ENTIRE process fun. Choosing Takk made the process something we were able to bond over and enjoy, not stress about. Takk is a beautiful space with so much character and the same is true of the city of Troy. Heidi’s team is so creative and had a ton of options and ideas on design and logistics that made everything unique to us, flow well and stay within our budget. 10/10, no notes! Oh and the food is incredible too!

I’d rate over 5 stars if I could! Takk house is absolutely amazing and Heidi made our wedding day so perfect. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous and so thoughtfully put together. It really speaks for itself. I cannot tell you how many people told us that it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they had ever attended. Heidi was so attentive to us and worked with us closely to make sure everything was perfect. She really understood our vision and did everything she could to make it a reality. It was such an amazing feeling to know I didn’t have to worry about anything on my wedding day. I cannot recommend the space, the food, and especially the people more!

Working with Heidi and her team at Takk House was the most amazing experience. Knowing that they had almost everything handled made our wedding, typically one of the most stressful things in life, a breeze. Not only did they exceed our expectations, they literally blew us and our family away. I could not have imagined our wedding with any other venue.

Takk House was simply amazing from start to finish. We looked at a great deal of venues in the capital region and Hudson Valley and knew immediately once we visited Takk that it was perfect for our wedding. The space itself is wonderfully unique which we both loved as opposed to the standard catering hall etc. Next, we felt at ease immediately with the owner Heidi. Her suggestions and professionalism took away a lot of the typical wedding stress.

We also cannot say enough about the amazing team she has put together. Our day of coordinator Andrea was much more than just day of. Her communication with our vendors, professionalism and friendliness was a huge factor in the success of the day. The same can be said of her assistant Hayley, both were a joy to work with. Sarah (florals) and Julie (design) took our suggestions and along with their professional experience were able to create the most gorgeous atmosphere for us along with our guests. We also elected to use Takk for our catering and of course they too were amazing. We received numerous compliments on the food, both appetizers and mains.

The first moment my husband and I toured Takk house we knew it was the venue. The building is gorgeous, timeless, and the exact vision we had for our wedding. We chose to go with the all inclusive wedding package, which took care of so many details that would otherwise be stressful.

Our wedding planner/coordinator Andrea is simply amazing. She was so easy to work with and took so much stress off of us, which actually let us enjoy the planning. She was there for us every step of the way and we’re forever grateful for her hard work and dedication throughout the process.

Sarah the in house florist is unbelievably talented, I honestly could’ve just given her our colors and let her take the reigns. Sarah’s way of bringing a vision to life is breathtaking.

Julie the in house designer was also a dream to work with! She executed our vision above and beyond and even suggested ideas we went with that were stunning!

After all of the planning our wedding day came, and what a fairy tale it was. My husband and I, our families and friends are just speechless at how magical it was. The day from the very beginning to end was perfect. The timeline Andrea put together for us went smoothly. Her and her assistant Hayley were on top of everything, and also had anything you could think of on them. Shout out to the aprons with scissors, tissues, and anything else you would never think of needing during the getting ready process!

We also did a first look on the roof top. I will remember that moment forever, it was so magical and breath taking up there. The private moment we got to share together really made us feel on top of the world.

Now to the good part, the food! The in house catering meadowlark was perfection! There were so many options for those who had special dietary restrictions but also so many options for those who don’t. Everything, and I mean everything was delicious.

The way the Takk house team comes together for your big day is beautiful. You can tell that every single one of them loves what they do and will go above and beyond to make your day special. We can never thank them enough for such a perfect day!!

We could not speak any more highly of the incredible team at Takk House. Andrea was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process. She connected us with some incredible vendors that fit within our budget and each exceeded our expectations. Andrea’s organization and time-management skills made for a flawless wedding day from start to finish. Julie and Sarah, who handled the design and florals respectively, executed our vision perfectly. They were both incredibly collaborative and very enthusiastic about our ideas. They also did a great job of seamlessly integrating our own décor pieces into the space and paired them well with the venues own pieces. The space itself is so unique and all of the rooms are impeccably decorated. The karaoke room downstairs in the Franklin Alley Social Club was a huge hit with our guests following the reception. We used Takk House’s own catering service for our reception. All of the food we had was delicious and their catering team was extremely flexible in working with us to create our menu. Takk House is an absolutely beautiful and unique venue with an experienced and dedicated staff that helped us plan our ideal wedding!

The Takk house, Heidi and her team were an absolute DREAM! If you're looking for a venue with vintage feels, great and I mean GREAT design and amazing food look no further.
Their package deal is absolutely the way to go. Do yourself a favor and add on Franklin Alley Social Club-- your guests will go nuts!

I was worried about guest parking, but didn’t hear any complaints!

We love this venue! We got so many compliments on it as well. The biggest thing for choosing the Takk House for our wedding is that they don’t tell you how to do your wedding. They ask what you want to do and then accommodate you. They have a wonderful online system to keep all the messages and information about your event in one place (including a seating chart app) which made the planning process so much easier. They have great connections with vendors in the community making the day-of process go smoothly.

The whole venue is eclectically decorated to have character and style. We were able to take first-look pictures on the roof which was just gorgeous. Heidi and Frank are laid back, but also very responsive and reliable.

*One note to couples, they DO have linens. There is a place or two on their website that says otherwise, but they have them!

Getting married at the Takk House was the best decision that we could've made! There were no restrictions on vendors, and it was already beautifully decorated, so there was very little we actually needed to do. Heidi and Frank were amazing in helping to guide us through the whole insane process of planning a wedding - from helping us find vendors when we were in a bind, to making suggestions on what we could do and how to put some personal little touches, etc. They were so flexible with us and really helped to pull the whole event together. They even let us bring our little pup as part of our ceremony!

There is a gorgeous getting ready area that we used (and a sweet little man cave downstairs for the guys), and we were able to get some really beautiful photos. We had about 90 guests or so altogether, and we fit comfortably in the reception area downstairs and the bar.

The Takk House is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of Downtown Troy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to host an event!
