Ms. Tonya Barbee was a wonderful help to me on my wedding day. As usual, she went above and beyond what a hair stylist would do and was very accommodating to providing me not only amazing hair, but a calm presence. Unfortunately, it rained on my wedding day, but Tonya was prepared and made sure that my hair was covered while in transit to the venue. She then completed my hair style before the wedding and re-styled my hair for the reception in an amazing 5 minutes! The hair was gorgeous and I got so many compliments. Tonya has always worked hard to make sure my hair is styled wonderfully, and she makes sure that my natural hair is in a truly healthy state.

If you are a woman of color with "natural hair," Taji Salon is the place to go. Taji styled my hair for my wedding after listening to my vision for my hair style and showing me photos and videos of past clients to make sure of what I wanted. I ended up with a combination of cornrows and 2-strand twists in an up-do (for pre-wedding photos) that allowed me to take down the back and have some wavy length for the ceremony itself. The braided portion even lasted most of the following week for my honeymoon! I generally do my own hair after a lifetime of trying different salons and never having an the experience of the stylist understanding my hair. Taji did (though it's very different from her own hair). She even fit me in on one of her days off so that my style could be fresh for the big day.
