I cannot thank Leann enough for saving my wedding day and fixing my wedding dress. I originally had my dress altered in Grand Rapids at the recommendation of the bridal salon where I purchased my dress. Long story short, the dress was nowhere near finished which had me in tears and panic. Leann was very kind and willing to help me in my emergent situation. She was able to hem and fix my all LACE dress within days before my wedding. She literally saved the day and made me fall in love with my dress again.

After ordering a bridesmaid dress online, I needed alterations less than 2 weeks before the wedding. I am so grateful a simple google search lead me to Silver Thread. I only expected to have the dress hemmed but I ended up with so much more. By simply walking into her shop you can see how busy she is, but without even having to ask she offered to use the extra fabric to create a better fit in the places I felt insecure. I was pleasantly surprised by the results as she made it look as if the dress was originally made this way! She completed all the alterations in less than a week. Thanks to Silver Thread, when I try on the dress now I feel beautiful, confident, and excited for the wedding.

I went in to get a bustle put into my wedding dress. The woman I worked with was really patient with helping me figure out which kind I actually wanted. We ended up trying multiple and in different places before settling on the perfect one for my dress. She also recommended altering the straps for the dress, which I hadn't thought of. They ended up fitting great; my only problem was the seam for the straps was a bit further down than I'd have liked (more visible from the front). Otherwise, she helped make the dress perfect and for only $70 in a few short weeks!

I took my dress somewhere else first and was told that they could not alter it because it was almost all lace and it was too hard. I then took it to Silver Thread and she didn't even hesitate, she was confident that she could do it. She got it back to me in a timely manner and it looked incredible. I was very pleased with the results. She was great to work with and I would definitely take any alterations I had to her in the future!

I got my wedding dress off-the-rack so it had a tear and needed to be hemmed. She did an amazing job adding the extra chest support I needed, hemming it, adding three bustles, and even finding a flower embellishment that matched the other flowers on the dress to hide the tear! Her prices were very reasonable and work was done quickly

She took my lace dress and made it fit like a glove; it looked like it was custom made for me. She was so flexible, she allowed me to come into the shop for my fitting on a day she was closed (since I was from out of town). There was no need for a second fitting, she got it right the first time- it was steamed and ready to go in only a couple weeks.

Two of the three times I visited Silver Thread I had to call them to get them to answer the door, in spite of the fact that I'd made an appointment. The first visit was the initial fitting and drop off. I paid for the alterations on my wedding dress and set an appointment for pickup. When I arrived to get my dress, the dress could not be found. You can imagine the rising panic I felt in my stomach two weeks before my wedding and the seamstress struggling to locate my dress. When she finally found it, the work was not finished and she asked me to come back the next day. I arrived (with a friend this time in case I needed to get assertive) and thankfully the work was done exactly as ordered. Had we been able to skip that meddle visit, my experience would have been much more positive and this review a lot better. The end results were great, but the roller coaster of emotions they put me on was not acceptable.

Brides Beware! After three fittings and $590 later, the dress was not completed. The bust area was not fitted properly & the bustle was missing hooks. The dress clearly was mistreated in the shop as it had many snags in the material. After the required payment was made, the dress was not her priority to finish properly. Having the dress at the cleaners, before the wedding, it was pointed out that the alterations we not even on both sides. Disappointed in the service and wouldn't recommend this place to sew a pair of socks!
