Olivia, who heads up events at The Sands, is the definition of a true professional. By the time we toured The Sands, we'd already been to 4 other Palm Springs venues that day, and every single one of those hotel reps knew her by name and said she was amazing. When you meet her, it's immediately obvious why.

She has an energy that just communicates: she runs a tight ship. She knows every detail of a wedding at The Sands inside and out - from how long each dinner course takes to be bussed out, to exactly when the ceremony site gets shade depending on the time of year - and she asked us questions about things we never would have thought to consider ourselves. Even our planners told us she's one of the best in the business, and after working with her, we were all completely blown away.

She also worked with us to make more than a few unconventional requests happen, always prioritizing what would make us happy without ever letting on if something was inconvenient. Responsive, on top of everything, and genuinely invested in getting it right... I cannot speak more highly of Olivia!

As for the hotel itself: it's the perfect combination of retro motel charm and true luxury attention to detail. The buyout aspect made the whole weekend feel like summer camp in the best way, and the front desk staff was consistently warm, kind, and helpful throughout.

And the food is not your typical hotel catering. It comes from their on-site restaurant, with an award-winning chef and serious accolades, which added such a perfect element to the evening.

This was our dream weekend and we could not be more thankful to everyone at The Sands for making it happen!

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding. From the staff, the rooms, and the overall vibe, the Sands was the most perfect location for our wedding! We could not recommend the Sands more to anyone looking to have their wedding here!

Choosing The Sands Hotel & Spa for our wedding was by far the best decision I made when wedding planning. This boutique hotel offered us total privacy, as we booked the entire venue and had the hotel and pool to ourselves all weekend. The Sands provided everything we needed, from the stunning Olive Grove ceremony space to the amazing spa and The Pink Cabana restaurant, which is one of the top-rated in the Coachella Valley. The fact that all our events—ceremony, dinner, reception, and brunch—could take place in one location was a huge plus, and our guests could easily walk from their rooms to the ceremony.

We loved the hotel's location near the Nest Bar, The Living Desert Zoo, and El Paseo Shopping Area, which was perfect for our pre- and post-wedding events.

What truly stood out, though, was the incredible staff. Olivia Prescott, the event coordinator, was a dream to work with. She was always available, detailed, and made the planning process easy, offering great advice and solutions. Chef Jason also added a special French touch to our menu to honor my husband's family, making the food even more meaningful. The Pink Cabana’s food was unique and delicious, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting it.

Getting married at Sands Hotel & Spa was a dream come true. We've cherished this place for years, and having our special day there was an absolute joy. The venue's stunning aesthetic, coupled with the exceptional service from the Sands team made our wedding unforgettable for not only us, but our loved ones.

They ensured that every aspect of our wedding was flawless, from the load in and prepping of decor to the dining experience and a curated menu (including allergy accommodations for guests and making our dreams of an espresso martini bar happen!). We had our wedding at the Sands Hotel on June 1, 2024. From the moment we sent an initial inquiry, the professionalism, communication and service that we received over the past year of planning was truly amazing. Olivia Prescott was such a pleasure to work with. I don't think I've ever encountered someone with better attention to detail and faster communication. (Which is exactly what you want when planning a wedding!) She takes pride in what she does, was very accommodating with our requests, and she made the day more special than we could have ever imagined it to be.

We toured a few other venues in the Palm Springs area, and what solidified the Sands for us was that they include food, drinks, chairs, cutlery, etc in their package. It makes the planning process so much less stressful, and the Pink Cabana food is also AMAZING! You also get the entire hotel from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning with a buyout, so we were able to host a pool party on Friday along with welcome drinks in the evening, and no other hotel guests were there.

If you are considering the Sands for a wedding venue, please just SAY YES!! We have received so many compliments from our guests saying it's one of the best weddings they have been to and that the rooms/accommodations were so nice. Thank you Olivia and the Sands for making our day so wonderful. We will cherish the memories from this day forever!

Olivia, the Director of Sales, at the Sands was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, direct, responsive, and organized. She made all coordination with the Sands Hotel & Spa easy. She instilled great confidence and our wedding was perfect! I'm so impressed by how on top of everything she was! She also worked seamlessly with our wedding planner.

The hotel itself was absolutely wonderful for our wedding. Not only were the staff extremely kind, but they had a friendliness and warmth that made our wedding guests feel welcome and cared for.

The only issues that came up, were some issues with room keys which frequently had to be re-programmed and a couple of room mix-ups. Everything was handled professionally however!

I can say only good things about the Sands. My daughter had her weekend wedding here. Everyone went above and beyond what was expected. The Sands hotel has so many different beautiful areas. Starting from the Friday pool party where our two families could get to know each other, the Olive Grove for a magical ceremony and the delicious reception around the pool. The whole weekend was perfect. The steak and salmon were cooked to perfection. Juicy not dry which is hard to do when you are serving 150 people. After the dancing in the Pink Cabana everyone went in the pool and hot tub. Where else can you do that.
This was an amazing wedding for the couple, their family and friends.

We had our wedding weekend at the Sands Hotel & Spa on Dec 15-16, 2023 and could not recommend it more highly to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and intimate destination to celebrate their wedding or special event.

You only have to walk through the front door of the Sands to know that you are in a very special place, but once you meet the people who work there, you will realize just how magical it really is.

Olivia Prescott was our contact at the property throughout the entire event, and we couldn't have asked for a more helpful, kind, caring person to work with during the process. She knows the property inside and out, and made very helpful suggestions to make our guests comfortable and our experience out of this world. Any couple would be lucky to have Olivia on their team. Alissa was incredible to work with as well!

The General Manager, Luis Reis, and the entire hotel staff were incredible too. Every single detail was executed with absolute perfection and they made everything so seamless and easy for our guests.

As for the Pink Cabana—hats off to the chef and crew and all the bar team for an incredible two evenings of the most delicious food and cocktails that our guests absolutely loved.

Overall, we could not have asked for a more beautiful location and wonderful team to make the wedding of our dreams.

I found Sands hotel on Instagram and I couldn’t be more grateful that I did! I immediately got in contact with Olivia to discuss using it as our wedding venue. From start to finish, Olivia and the entire staff were the most lovely, accommodating and just overall incredible team of people. When you’re guests you truly feel like royalty. The food is out of this world, the rooms are gorgeous and the hotel has the absolute best vibe. You feel like you’re in a different world and you’ll never want to leave. Our wedding went off without a hitch thanks to Oliva and the entire team, as well as all of the vendors they had suggested. We didn’t ever want the weekend to end. We will be back to enjoy a weekend or even just a night whenever possible. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, it’s just the most magical place and I will cherish the memories forever!

We had our dream wedding at The Sands in May 2023. When you combine The Sands uniquely intimate and stunning design with their world class team, you get pure magic. We had the best weekend of our lives, and many of our guests have told us it was the best wedding they've ever attended.

The Sands only hosts a handful of weddings a year, so the level of care they put into making each wedding run smooth and feel special is rare for the industry. From the first email to our wedding weekend and beyond, Olivia was not only proactively communicative and so professional, but made us feel like she had our back the entire way. She deeply understood our vision, our budget, and what was important to us, and made sure we were set up for success. Despite her busy schedule, we always felt like a priority and we truly felt lucky to have her on our side the whole way.

As for the venue itself, The Sands is just gorgeous. When you step into the lobby, you're transported to a different world. The pink walls lined with golden Bougainvillea in spring, Moroccan inspired patterns, and gorgeous landscaping flanking the pool is surreal. The Pink Cabana is already so funky and chic that all we did was add a disco ball and it looked cooler than many expensive wedding installs. Their food and beverage program is top notch and was another big reason we loved The Sands. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the Mediterranean family style dinner by the pool - such a highlight.

While getting every room filled for the wedding weekend buyout was a big task, the experience of having all our favorite people at the same hotel was unforgettable. The rooms and hospitality were fantastic. And, the buyout created a beautiful community and reunion of different family and friend groups that made it so easy to connect, amplifying the emotions and feels of the weekend.

We could go on for days about how incredible of a time we had. There's just something very special about this property, this team, this whole experience for a wedding. If we were given an unlimited budget and could have our wedding anywhere in the world, we'd do it at The Sands all over again.
