One would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful venue for a wedding or any other special occasion. Idyllwild has always been a very special place for us. When we decided to get married, it was at the top of our list as a destination. A quick bit of research yielded Harvey House. We scheduled a walk through and were dazzled by the pines. We love the parlor – giving our guests a quieter casual place to sit and visit was fabulous. The individual rooms at the inn are beautiful. The outdoor spaces were festive while allowing the natural beauty to take center stage. We were sold on the venue after that first walkthrough.

We very much appreciated the venue wedding day coordinator (Leigh Ann) - Leigh Ann was pivotal to helping us create the most memorable experience that reflected our personalities as a couple. She made great recommendations on decor as well as the ceremony/reception timeline. Her attention to detail really added beauty while maintaining simplicity (which was a high priority for us).

We wanted a few unique aspects to our wedding (e.g., a welcome reception before the wedding, a sundae bar, etc.) - not only did Leigh Ann accommodate our eccentricities, but she made great suggestions to them as well! Having the decorations included in our package, really simplified our planning, while still giving us a wide array of looks and styles to choose from.

Harvey House's list of preferred vendors was fabulous! When we reached out to a vendor and had some issues, our coordinator immediately stepped in with an alternative recommendation, which we really appreciated! I've added the vendors we used (which were all top notch) at the end of this review. Using preferred vendors was also nice because the vendor worked directly with Harvey House and there was less on our plate to coordinate. The vendors understood the space, the electrical, the unpredictable weather, etcetera.

Speaking of weather, the projected weather forecast for our wedding was 73° and sunny. But Idyllwild likes to keep you guessing! It poured rain the day before our wedding, snowed the night before and the morning of, hailed then rained a little later that morning. But, not to worry! The wonderful staff at Harvey House jumped right on it, and pivoted to ensure the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch!

Now, for the food! We opted for the buffet Platinum package with appetizers and late-night popcorn bar. The food was a hit! Croux (the caterer) prepared a feast! We even had a few folks with very restrictive diets who found foods that worked for them! He appreciated the catering walkthrough in advance so that we could make some tough decisions between the various options. The wedding cake (which was part of the package) was amazing! At the cake tasting I thought the cake was okay but wasn't too enthused. On the day of, the cake was fabulous! We had two different tiers, very different cake/filling flavors, and WOW!

The head mixologist (Bekah) worked closely with us to create signature cocktails and mocktails – they were fun and delicious. AND she provided us with a wonderful and detailed shopping list so that we were able to get all of the mixes, juices, wine, garnishes and alcohol that we needed. It was so helpful to have that list! As a quick note, we opted to tip the bar staff directly rather than have a tip jar at the ceremony, as we didn't want our guests having to worry about tipping the bar staff, and we wanted to make sure that they were well compensated.

Harvey House also helped us arrange a visit from Mayor Max (and a mayoral proclamation)! Mayor Max was an absolute hit!

We rented the house next door to Harvey House as our "base of operations" for the weekend – hosting a few casual get-togethers for our wedding guests. I would highly recommend doing so – having a base of operations so close to the venue was wonderful. We also planned a few other fun weekend activities, including a light hike around Lake Fulmor (in the rain, as it turns out), a pizza and s'mores night before party (using electric s'mores makers) at the rental house with pizza from the Idyllwild Pizza Company, a morning of continental breakfast at the rental house donuts from Amelia's Donuts, and a coffee tasting event at Black Mountain Coffee Roasters the morning of. All of the events were fantastic! By the time of the wedding, everyone attending the wedding had become friends.

To sum up, we cannot imagine a better or more beautiful or more perfect venue for our wedding! We look forward to returning on a landmark anniversary!

The Harvey House was the perfect backdrop for our wedding. We wanted a mountain elopement feel and look, but with all of the services and benefits of a traditional wedding venue! The Harvey House allows you to craft a perfectly unique day. They provide lots of guidance and have incredible recommendations that makes planning easier, however they allow for way more customizations and flexibility than so many of the other venues that we looked into. The pricing is fair and all of the staff members are so responsive, helpful, and passionate. From guided tours, email assistance, professional communication, and tons of amenities offered- we are incredibly grateful that we chose the Harvey House for our wedding. The bathrooms are ADA compliant, and elderly guests/guests with disabilities are able to comfortably enjoy the evening. You can rent the house, and the house next door for the entire weekend so that you are onsite and stress-free all weekend. They have truly thought of every detail, from getting ready spaces, the first look options, ceremony enhancements, and so many reception options. They have a parking lot for vendors and provide a parking shuttle for guests, along with security and hands on support day of. You are able to have the perfect mix of outdoor celebrating, with patio and indoor options to keep guests comfortable in every type of weather. This is a truly magical place to get married and we are thankful every single day that we trusted the Harvey House with our wedding!

The staff at Harvey House Idyllwild were so professional and helpful throughout the year(!) we took to plan our wedding. Bekah, our day of coordinator that Harvey House provided was awesome, she kept us on track and answered every question we had. What made it really easy is everything is included if you want to use their decorations and vendors, which we loved because we did not want to "DIY" a lot of things or have to coordinate different vendors that have never worked with the Harvey House staff or venue before. They had a list of vendors that are familiar with the staff and made sure everything was seamless, which it was! Our wedding went super smooth and perfect, there were no hiccups or emergency situations, if there were, no one knew about it! Harvey House is a beautiful venue and all of our guests could not stop mentioning how beautiful it is. They actually kept thanking us for having our wedding there because they would never have been to area otherwise. We are so thankful that we chose Harvey House to have our wedding and reception because we already loved the town before finding this venue.

The Harvey house was genuinely a great wedding venue for a number of reasons. Their trained/helpful staff, talented / thorough wedding coordinator and perfect location made for a night we will cherish forever.
