I first met Sam 7 years ago, when my best friend hired her to photograph her wedding. Since then, Sam has photographed about 7 of my friends' weddings, not including mine. If that doesn't tell you how we feel about Sam's work, nothing will. CLEARLY, we are obsessed with Sam's pictures. But, more than that, Sam and Michael make an amazing team. They're such a calming presence, and it's just nice to hang out with them the day of your wedding - it really just feels like you're hanging out with friends who happen to be really, really talented at taking pictures, too. There's no one else I would've hired to document our big day, and I'm so thrilled with how our pictures came out. Don't hesitate to hire Sam!! She is the best.

Working with Sam is a dream. When we decided to get married, a friend referred me to Sam’s portfolio and it was love at first sight. She has an innate ability to capture emotion, the joy and laughter, happiness and excitement of weddings. I was even more convinced when we met with her for our consultation, she is talented, kind and has a calming presence which is always amazing to have while wedding planning.

She helped us craft a photo bundle that we were comfortable with. This included engagement photos - we got to spend a few hours with Sam getting used to having our photos taken and getting advice. Sam is super prepared and early to every meeting/photoshoot, ahead of the engagement shoot she sent over past couples, pointed out what would make a good location and a good outfit - which was really helpful to me, this was the first time either my fiancee or I had our photos taken professionally, but she was so encouraging and understanding. Sam gives direction naturally, it ended up feeling so fun and very intimate.

Leading up to our wedding day, Sam was communicating with us frequently. We talked about the types of photos I wanted (less portraits, more candids), we discussed the venue, the spot where the girls would be getting ready and she helped us plan for a First Look photoshoot on the High Line. She even went and scouted locations ahead of time to make sure we got the perfect spot. Sam was prompt as usual on the wedding day and got right to work as we finished getting ready, she kept us on schedule and the first look was probably my favorite part of the wedding day, other than actually saying ‘I do’ it was incredibly emotional to see my future husband for the first time and surprise him, we were in the middle of Manhattan being photographed in public but it really felt like just the two of us and Sam really captured that feeling. Portraits of the family went off without a hitch, she had asked to have names and relations sent over beforehand so the shoot would go quickly and smoothly. During the wedding, Sam was a ghost - I swear I didn’t see her all night but she managed to get pictures of literally everything and everyone.

The day after the wedding, Sam gave us a few amazing photos to show off, and quickly followed up with our entire gallery. She was so responsive, every time I had a question or a request, she responded right away and nothing was ever a problem. Going through those photos, reliving moments and seeing some for the first time was such an amazing way to continue our joy. I think I look at our wedding photos every single day, even though its been 2 months since we tied the knot.
