Ron and his team were wonderful to work with for our wedding. The cake was absolutely beautiful and incorporated elements from the bride’s dress, our custom-crest, and sugar flowers of the same varieties as the rest of the floral decor throughout the event. It was truly a masterpiece and took our breath away when we saw it.

We also loved that we were able to build several flavors of cake and icing into each tier and our guests still talk about how unique and delicious their slices were. Although our partnership with Ron was included and and arranged through Tavern on the Green, we cannot recommend the RBI team enough for a beautiful wedding cake.

Ron Ben-Israel is an amazing pastry chef! He’s very professional, patient, and down to earth. For the cake tasting, he gives you plenty of time to try all the filling flavors and the cake flavors. He gives you ideas on what flavors go well with each other, which is really helpful. He also has 2 books full of ideas for wedding cake designs. We showed him pictures of what we wanted for the cake and he created a beautiful masterpiece! His sugar flowers are stunning and the cake was delicious! Our guests loved the cake! We went to a couple of cake vendors before choosing RBI, and we’re thrilled we chose wisely. He and his team are professional and run a very neat operation. The cake they created for our June 2019 was absolutely beautiful and delicious! As we had a traditional Greek wedding, Rob even had the brilliant idea to weave in a special flower that’s used during the ceremony. Their creativity has no limits, and the team will gladly tailor your cake to your desires. Beyond the visual aesthetic, the cake tasted amazing and we cannot wait to have the top tier next year! A+ on all fronts, and totally worth it!

We recently hired Ron Ben-Israel to design a cake for our wedding at Gotham Hall in NYC. We had high expectations for this cake as it had to live up to the beauty of our exquisite venue, visually incorporate elements of our wedding theme, cater to guests with very discerning taste buds, and accommodate food allergies with a gluten-free layer!

The process of creating the cake with Ron Ben-Israel was a fun filled and delicious experience! He took to the time to meet with us personally to get a sense for the venue, our colors and floral arrangements, and other wedding themes. He showed us photos of many gorgeous cakes he’s designed to gauge our feedback on what we liked, which enabled him to create a custom cake based on a variety of themes. He also organized a wonderful cake tasting so we could select the type of cake and filling flavors for each individual layer inside.

To say the cake exceeded our expectations is an understatement! Not only did the cake taste phenomenal, but it was a SENSATIONAL work of art! He decorated our cake with gorgeous pink peonies to match the bride’s bouquet - they looked so real we weren’t sure if they were edible! He also took an image of a custom monogram we planned to use on our dance floor and incorporated it into bottom layer of frosting. Ron Ben-Israel is a true artist who we highly recommend for a wedding or any event! We look forward to another family event to work with him again!
