We got married on Oct 3rd, 2025 at the Molly Pitcher Inn and had the DJ / Band hybrid. They handled all of our ceremony music, their brass band played for cocktail hour, and then we had the DJ set with 4 piece band for the reception. We wanted our wedding to feel energetic and fun and like one big celebration and party and Ian Gray and the Ocean Avenue Stompers did just that! They made sure to play specific songs we requested ahead of time, and really paid attention to detail with everything. They were absolutely phenomenal and we highly recommend them!

The Ocean Avenue Stompers played our wedding in August 2025 and we couldn’t have been happier.

From our very first call, they were kind, professional, and clearly experienced. They gave us a wide range of options and helped us tailor the music to exactly what we wanted for the day. For cocktail hour, we had a four-piece jazz group that sounded fantastic in an outdoor space. For the reception, we chose an eight-piece band with a mix of styles. They even shared examples of different wedding sets, which made it easy for us to shape the direction of the music.

On the day itself, the band members were friendly, easy to work with, and kept everything stress-free. They handled DJing between sets seamlessly and gave us just the right amount of control over the playlist. Their taste in music and ability to read the room were spot on.

We had the Stompers+DJ Ian combo for our wedding, and what a show! The Stompers absolutely blew the roof off the joint, keeping the dance floor not just packed but singing along and dancing their hearts out all night long. There is never a dull moment and never a rest between songs. The song selection, arrangements, and overall vibe are like the best concert you ever been to, but it’s your wedding. A special shout out to their arrangements of Pink Pony Club and I Don’t Want to Go Home, learned for our wedding, and an absolutely ripping Tenth Avenue Freeze Out that doubled as both our entrance song and a big club hit at the end of the night. All night, we kept hearing from our guests how incredible the band was, and we have to agree!

We closed the night with DJ Ian playing dance music for the final hour, with some help from the stompers horn section toward the end. Really can’t think of a better set or show, loved every second. And now we can go catch them on Mondays at R Bar to keep the party going!

They were the band for our wedding in Asbury Park in August 2024, and we truly believe we had the best wedding band ever. From the start, we felt so lucky to have them as part of our special day. We worked closely with Ian throughout the planning process, and he was always so accommodating. When we were still in the decision phase, Ian was happy to hop on calls to talk through our vision and explain what the Stompers could offer. After seeing them live, it was a no-brainer for us. The energy they bring every time they perform is contagious, and it guarantees an incredibly fun time. After signing our contract, we met two times before our wedding day. Ian also sent us a questionnaire to keep all our ideas and plans organized. Ian was great at communicating with us throughout the process – despite being very busy with shows almost every night – and made sure the band would deliver the kind of party we dreamed of for our wedding. My husband and I always enjoyed our calls and getting the chance to chat with Ian. We really couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience working with the Stompers. For our ceremony, we had three members of the band play, and they were amazing. Originally, we had only planned to have a guitarist, but after discussing the songs with Ian, he suggested adding the pianist and a trumpet player as well, which was a perfect combination. Ian then did a fantastic job DJ’ing and MC’ing our cocktail hour and dinner. Ian also worked closely with the venue to ensure the music flowed well through all the different spaces, which made a big difference. For the reception, we sent Ian a playlist with our general music vibe and right away he said he knew exactly what we were hoping for. We wanted the music to reflect the spirit of Asbury Park and steer clear of the typical wedding pop songs. The Stompers exceeded all expectations (which were already pretty high!). We had so much fun dancing the entire night and never left the dance floor because every song was one we wanted to hear. They kept the energy so high, making sure everyone, from our friends to our parents’ friends and family members, was having the best time. You could see it in the way all our guests were captivated by the band and smiling from ear to ear while watching them play. To this day, we are still getting compliments on the music and I’ve had many people tell me that next time we go to see the Stompers they want to come.

The stompers are a fantastic band and Ian was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend them without any hesitation. They put out a great vibe, know how to read the room and keep the party going! Two years later and guests are still talking about the band and how much fun our wedding was as well as inquiring about them for their next event.

We had the BEST time with the Ocean Avenue Stompers at our wedding. We got married during COVID and were really limited on how we could celebrate, how/what music we placed, and dancing indoors was totally off limits. The Ocean Avenue stompers surprised everyone at the wedding played a set for us outside on the boardwalk (we got married by the beach). One of the most memorable parts of our wedding was dancing on the boardwalk with my hubby and close friends and family while the Stompers played. Ian was so easy to work with the the group really made our wedding so special! Don't hesitate to hire them for your big day!

Ian and his team always go above and beyond! We had a wedding during Covid so we had just 15 people and we surprised our guests with the ocean Ave stompers! It was the cherry on top of amazing evening. Ian also puts together an amazing full band! We attended a friends wedding and it was the best band we have ever heard!

I’ve been seeing the Ocean Ave Stompers play in Asbury Park for years and they always put on the most incredible show, so I knew they had to play mine and my husbands wedding in the Catskills. We met with Ian a few times before the wedding to discuss what we were looking for and we immediately knew we made the right decision. They put on the most incredible show at our wedding. You can’t compare them to any other “wedding band”. They are authentic and played music that we loved, and that you would never normally hear at a wedding. Bruce, Tom Petty, Grateful Dead, Ginuwine, Looking Glass, Garth Brooks (Which is exactly what we wanted.) Every 120 of our guests were on the dance floor all night. Not only did the band set the mood for the night, but Ian did such a good job MCing the wedding. He was so genuine and did a great job remembering all of the small details about our friends and family. The sound during the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception was so clear and there was not one issue with sound the whole night.
