The space and the staff were fabulous! Such a pretty venue! Even in November!

The venue is beautiful but Mr. Fowler is what puts the place over the top. He is great to work with. Mr. Fowler is extremely accommodating and made sure every detail was tended to. The food and service was top notch! I highly recommend NYCC!!!

We selected the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club (NYCC) after looking at a few other venues in the Hampton Roads area. After seeing the beautiful venue, and meeting with the events liason, Mr. John Fowler we knew almost immediately that we wanted to have our wedding reception here. Mr. Fowler was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire process; he allowed me to come to the club multiple times to meet with him and take measurements etc. while I was planning, and he was extremely responsive whenever I had questions. He and the entire staff were more than helpful and were willing to go the extra mile for us, often without us even having to ask. Not only was the ballroom stunning on the wedding day, but the food was absolutely delicious. We had the plated meal, crabcakes and steak, and every single guest raved about the food. The service was wonderful, the food was phenomenal, and the location was picture-perfect. I would highly recommend this venue, it was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process!

Best Wedding EVER. That's what was echoed by many of the guests on our video. :) We looked at every venue in Norfolk. Norfolk Yacht is traditional Norfolk. It has a beatiful ballroom and a walkout out patio overlooking the lafayette river. It has great parking. This venue is much more flexable than others as far as timing, use of space, decor, and menu items. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn over looking the river. We had cocktail hour on the back deck with passed appetizers and an outside bar. We then had the reception in the ballroom. The food was amazing and plentiful. People are still talking about the food! The open bar charge sounds expensive because it is per drink, but drinks are much more affordable than other places at only 2.75. The staff members were exceptional. The service the night of our wedding was wonderful. The tables were bused often, everyone always had a plate and a drink, and they were always smiling and polite. I think the staff were having fun too. :) I could not more highly recomend this venue. We loved it, and it was the best wedding EVER! :)

I wanted a venue that was elegant and special. I wanted to make sure that it wasn't a venue were my guests felt like they were just another wedding event. John Fowler and his team exceeded my every expectation. The food was spectacular and the wait staff was beyond professional. Every detail was taken care of and we were treated like royalty. The venue itself is beautiful. The sunsets behind the deck and you and your guests get to enjoy waterfront views. An added bonus for us was the sunken dance floor. Having our guests surround us for our first dance was amazing.

NYCC was a great location for my wedding reception. The view of the river is beautiful and the grand ballroom has a huge dance floor that overlooks the river. The outside patio is also a wonderful addition/option to have open during the indoor reception. NYCC was very accomodating on my food requests, the food was great! NYCC also has a few hotel rooms attached to the club to use for changing, to store gifts, a room for the band to use during break, etc. These came in great use for me. Highly recommend.
