I’ve heard it described as a sneeze. It starts with a little tickle until you can’t ignore it anymore. You itch your nose repeatedly but the tickle doesn’t go away until, out of nowhere, you are forced to give way to the sneeze. A sneeze that shakes up your whole body and takes you a few moments to recover from. And only after that body-shaking sneeze will the tickle go away. That is the best description I’ve heard for the seemingly uncontrollable experience of deciding to hike the entire Appalachian Trail.
In mid-2006, I started getting the tickles until I could no longer ignore them. I set out to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine the following March just three months after Eric and I became engaged on a day hike in northern Michigan. We had been together for ten years – since the days in high school when our teachers would scold us for holding hands in the hallway.
Somewhere between Georgia and Maine, I realized when I came home things would be different. I wanted to do something I loved. At that point, as I was working on the hardest thing I’d ever done physically, I decided that if I could accomplish my goal of hiking the Appalachian Trail I could probably accomplish my dream of a career in photography, something I denied myself as I changed majors approximately 13 times in college.
So, here I am. One amazing dream grew into another and I am honored to be present during the most memorable times in my clients’ lives. Thank you for your interest and your willingness to support a girl with big dreams. To visit my website and see what some of my very favorite things are, visit http://www.nicolehaley.com.

Absolute joy to work with
I cannot recommend Nicole enough! She captured every detail of our wedding - from the little touches to the candid moments to amazing portraits - and she does it all with calmness, joy, and ease. We also did our engagement shoot with her and she got to know us (and we got to know her) before the wedding day so it felt like an old friend coming to document our wedding, which made everyone feel so comfortable and natural for photos. She even wrangled all the family members for big group shots with such grace and professionalism, it was amazing! Not to mention even rescuing me when a bee flew up my dress :) Needless to say, Nicole goes above and beyond to capture all the moments from your big day and she was absolutely one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding!Sent on 11/23/2018

Best of the Best
Nicole is an amazing photographer. She captures candid moments, portraits, still life in all lights with an amazing eye. But more than that she is an amazing presence to have on your wedding day - both happy and calming she is a professional through and through.Sent on 11/22/2018

Nicole is the absolute best!! Just take a look at her blog and you'll see...her talent is undeniable! She is so sweet, easy to work with, detail-oriented, and very responsive. She was also very quick to post our wedding photos (within a couple of days she had a sneak preview online for us). She is a true professional and went above and beyond to make sure she captured all the small (but very important) details of our day. She is a bit more expensive than some other photographers I've seen, but in our experience she is worth every penny. We are so grateful to Nicole for giving us pictures of our wedding day (and engagement) that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.Sent on 09/12/2018
Highly Highly recommend Nicole for her professionalism, timeliness, and clean, bright, true to color photos even inside venues with little natural light Nicole gets great pictures. Nicole Haley's photos of my flowers are my flat out favorites and the highlight of my website.
