Located in Newcastle, California, Newcastle Gardens provides a beautiful setting for couples seeking a private, peaceful, and picturesque wedding with many inclusive features like catering, florals and professional wedding coordination to make your big day memorable and stress-free. Located near Sacramento and Roseville and nestled sweetly in the Sierra foothills, this unique 12-acre estate has a beautiful 200-year-old heritage oak tree setting the backdrop for your romantic garden ceremony, a rock garden waterfall, lots of shade and beautiful lush greenery, and a gorgeous refurbished rustic barn venue just steps away for your magical reception.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples looking to get married at Newcastle Gardens can accommodate up to 150 guests. The Gardens are brimming with beautiful elements, such as heritage oak trees, granite boulders, a waterfall, potted plants and flowers, cobblestone walkways and secret paths. Any one of these gorgeous locations can be the perfect place for your wedding photographs. Receptions can be held at the Red Horse Barn, which has been renovated with vaulted ceilings, iron chandeliers, stained concrete floors, a custom built-in bar, plus a Barn Loft Showroom full of wedding decor free to use on your special day, including lanterns, floral vessels, votives, easels, signage, antiques, fabrics, table numbers, and more!
Services Offered
From the time of booking Newcastle Gardens as a venue to the day of the wedding, couples will receive full-service planning support. Everything from a bridal suite and groom's room, to services like setup, cleanup, and in-house coordination, florals and catering are all available. Tables, chairs, linens, glassware, flatware, and event rentals are also available. Lighting and sound equipment may be accommodated on request.
Cuisine
Newcastle Gardens is owned and operated by Matt and Jessica Mermod. With combined experience of over 30 years, Newcastle Gardens is a labor of love for the both of them. Chef Matt has exercised his culinary talents from Southern California to the Bay Area, and up to wine country. Customizing menus and service styles are what set Matt and Newcastle Gardens apart from every other venue; ANYTHING you want to create for your wedding menu is a possibility. Anything from hand-rolled sushi, Sicilian-style pizza, BBQ, Coastal cuisine...the more creative, the better!

Newcastle Gardens is 35 minutes northeast of Sacramento. The property is only minutes away from I-80, just above Roseville. Newcastle Gardens is situated below Auburn in the Gold Country.

Rehearsal was included, and we had our rehearsal dinner there right after practice—it was amazing and made the whole weekend feel seamless and special. Our day-of coordinators, Jamie and Jordan, were incredible—super organized, friendly, and attentive to every detail, helping the day run flawlessly.
From the very start, Matt and Jess went above and beyond to make our wedding day unforgettable.
Matt, who also catered our wedding, prepared the most incredible food—our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! Every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Truly the best wedding food we’ve ever had.
Jess was our florist and designer, and she absolutely nailed our vision. The florals were stunning—elegant, colorful, and so thoughtfully arranged. She made the entire space feel magical.
The groom’s room was perfect for all the guys to get ready and hang out—it had a pool table and a big TV, creating a relaxed, fun vibe before the ceremony. One of the things that meant the world to us was that they allowed our dog to be part of our wedding. It made the day even more special, and we’re so grateful they were so accommodating!
Every member of the staff was kind, helpful, and professional. A special shoutout to Tori, our bartender—she was amazing! Friendly, efficient, and made sure everyone had a great time.

Newcastle Wedding Gardens is also an excellent value! They prepare and serve the food, decorate the venue, provide flowers, and wedding coordinator- all in house. They also have a reliable vendor list for any services they do not provided themselves.

Wedding Venue
We got married in early October, and the weather was perfect (minus the slightly smokey skies). The venue has great spots for photographs and we're so happy with how our pictures turned out. Check out the tagged pictures on their Instagram page for some inspiration and photo location ideas!

Just Perfect
Let's start with Matt. He is the most genuinely kind, charismatic, laid-back, flexible, PHENOMENAL cook and vendor owner you could imagine. When we had to postpone our original wedding due to peak COVID, he made this the smoothest process ever. He was responsive to all our needs, especially as things kept changing as we got close to the rescheduled wedding. His food can literally not be beat. So many people came up to us at the wedding raving about the food and I got individual texts later. He even made a special effort to have a cookie/brownie bar as I'm not a cake person. His venue is beautiful and I'm so happy we chose him and his team.
Next up is Heather. She is the the calmest, most organized, efficient, and wonderful wedding coordinator. She took every stressful thing in stride and was able to figure it out/take it off my plate drastically reducing my overall wedding stress. She too, was incredibly responsive and was integral to allowing our wedding to go off without a hitch.
Overall, I feel so lucky to have found this crew to take our vision of a wedding day and make it even more beautiful and perfect than expected. Thank you so much and we would recommend you all to anyone!

Newcastle Wedding Gardens is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Sacramento Region. Georgia and Stephen have done a wonderful job in upgrading the property over the last several years to become a showplace and the perfect site for a wedding or reception.
