History

The building that houses the Momentum Gallery at Elevation Lofts Hotel was originally constructed in 1923 and renovated in 2021. It was built during a decade of fast growth in Asheville that also saw the creation of the Flatiron Building, the Jackson Building, and the Grove Arcade. This building has witnessed the changing character of the neighborhood while being used as a car dealership, a farming co-op's refrigerated space, an armory, antique and retail stores, and apartment space.
