MJ Weddings & Events for the Win!

MJ Weddings & Events was our day of wedding coordinator. In addition to amazing support on the day of our wedding, they were also willing to meet with us well in advance of the big day to chat about all the details and give us some great advice on timeline! The day of Taylor and Ruth, our day of coordinators from MJ Weddings & Events, were fantastical and managed a lot of moving parts including rowdy family members and friends. Taylor went above and beyond by returning some forgotten bags from the venue the day after the wedding to their owners! They truly made the event a grand success and we're grateful to them for their help and support!

10/10 highly recommend!

We hadn't initially hired a day-of-coordinator for our wedding on 10/7/22 in DC. It was a decision we made about 3 weeks out, and we could not be happier with MJ weddings and Events, and our lead coordinator Macy. Since our wedding, we've both said several times our investment in Macy and MJ Weddings was the best money we spent. We truly could not be more grateful or thankful for all they did for us - the decor was beautiful, they answered all of my crazy questions, and found me a last-minute make-up appointment day-of when my hair and make-up artist didn't show. All of our guests commented on how amazing our coordinator was, and everything ran SO smoothly. Our day would not have been as perfect as it was without them!!

The best planner we could have gotten!

MJ and her team were such a joy to work with! We used them for day-of (really, month-of) coordination, florals, and transportation. I am a project manager for work and a type-A personality, and didn't initially think I needed a coordinator - I can do it myself! But looking back and seeing all the ways that her team helped us make the day run smoothly, be set up on time, have all parties communicated to...is why we got her team. They took care of EVERYTHING from setting up the venue so our parents didn't have to deal with it, to coordinating with all the vendors about the little things that will come up, to making sure we had drinks in hand and food on our plates all night, to cleaning up and loading the car. Any thought that came to mind that day, I would tell her team about, and it would already have been taken care of. Truly let me be present all day. Having a coordinator is not only a gift to yourself as the couple of honor, but to your bridal party and parents so that they can relax and enjoy instead of doing chores all day for you.
For florals, our bouquets (8 of them), corsages, boutineers, and centerpieces were all done beautifully by Makeda, who worked within our budget to create absolute magic.

Excellent Service!

The team at MJ Weddings & Events was such a pleasure to work with! As a coordinator, MJ was very organized, timely, and easy to communicate with. As a bride, I felt that she was more than a coordinator, but also my advocate. Anything that I wanted to see or didn't feel was right with the venue -- MJ was ready to take on the task and handle whatever the situation may be so that I could simply focus on enjoying the time with my family and friends. This I appreciate most.

For my table decor, I employed the in-house services of Makeda, the MJ Weddings event designer. Makeda was also very sweet and lovely to work with. I shared my Pinterest board with her as inspiration and she was able to create a look within my budget that I absolutely loved.

I went into wedding planning feeling overwhelmed and not sure what to do after booking my venue. These ladies saved the day! I greatly appreciate their service and dedication to each of their Brides and Grooms.

Highly professional, organized and calm

MJ was easy to work with from the beginning – and best of all, she was willing to work with our budget. She was very responsive to emails and called when she said she would. My husband and I created a very detailed playlist, weekend schedule, and photography shot list a week before our wedding, and MJ organized everything and communicated our wants to our entire vendor team – making our wedding day flawless. She answered all our guests’ questions leading up to and on the day of the wedding, setup our reception space, directed vendors, grabbed special family heirlooms for pictures throughout the day, and concisely organized the bridal party and groups of 30+ people for pictures. I cannot say enough good things about MJ and her team – they were a pleasure to work with!

Easy, brezzy, beaurtiful!

As a full time students, graduating the same month as we got married, MJ wedding & events was more than just a help, they was a life saver! MJ her self was very professional, reliable, and more than understanding of your big day. Before I could even begin to stress over something, MJ had already handled it! The day of the wedding coordinator was smooth and successful without any complications, which I find to be rare! It was truly a pleasure to have MJ apart of my wedding planning.

Wedding of My Dreams

MJ did an amazing job coordinating the day, picking things up, and decorating the venue. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Very happy with my experience with her and will definitely be recommending to other couples.

Master of her craft

Megan was absolutely incredibly. We booked her for her month-of coordination service, and she really made that final stretch go smoothly. A few examples:

The groomsmen/groom got tuxedos through Men's Warehouse. When they arrived, most of them did not fit properly. This was the NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING. Megan was able to get in touch with Men's Warehouse and make an exchange that night, and the next day, all of the guys looked absolutely fabulous.

None of the wedding party had been in a wedding before, so we had no idea how to deal with the rehearsal. Megan helped us run through the rehearsal efficiently, keeping us at an appropriate pace, instructing the flower girl and ring bearer on what they should be doing, and generally managing us through. We were done in 30 minutes!

The actual day of the wedding was a crazy blur. I was running all over the place greeting guests and having a generally wonderful time. I had nothing to do with anything logistical, and that's all a bride could ask for :)

Came through in the clutch!

I hired MJ and team to pull of the quickest venue transformation possible. I knew going in that there was only going to be 3 hours of time to get the venue ready for my reception. MJ worked tirelessly with her team to get all to manage many moving parts and bring my vision to life. They also managed the reception and were on top of every detail.
