My husband and I took Mike's business card about ~7 years ago and held onto it this entire time till we got married last May! (This review is long overdue).

Mike is not only funny, quick on his feet, and friendly, but extremely professional.

He is definitely a step above the rest among the DJs we shopped around for on the South Shore. We probably invested slightly more in our music than any of our other vendors on the wedding day because music was that important to us.

Mike is able to react quickly and smoothly if any changes occur or issues arise on the day of. He also communicates ahead of time with your vendors, and he is familiar with so many venues on the South Shore that he knows the layout, staff, etc. enough for everything to run super smoothly.

Mike works with you every step of the way on your music selection, reception entrance, and ensures that he knows all of your bridal party/relevant family members' names and pronunciations ahead of time. He is really on top of his game and it almost looks too easy watching him do his job, but I'm sure it's because he's been so experienced in the field.

The big reason we hired Mike is because we remember his song TRANSITIONS were FLAWLESS. That was a huge deal to us (maybe it's not to other couples). A lot of other weddings we've been to really feel off when songs don't musically transition well.

His music taste is great, but our only issue is that not all of our "must play" songs were played (coincidentally my husband's picks that he was looking forward to were the ones that were dropped and my picks from the "must play" and "can play" list were picked up). We understand though that it's tough to fit everything, especially when the crowd reacts to one type of music over another.

If we were to do it again, we would absolutely still hire Mike because he is great to work with and honestly seems like the best in the business.

He worked with us on every custom ideas we had and had a music portal that made it very easy to create playlists and select certain songs. Everyone loved him. Mike kept the vibes going all night!

We knew as soon as we met with Mike that we were in good hands. He was extremely professional and organized, even offering an online portal that made music selection a breeze. During our reception, he managed to keep everyone in our small wedding on the dance floor with hit after hit––he knew exactly what to play and say to get everyone pumped! We booked our reception with The Villa and Mike's Music was one of their preferred vendors. I read reviews and they were on point! Mike & Kelly made this part of the wedding process very smooth! There is an online portal where you can put in your music requests, first dance, etc. which was very helpful. Mike is organized and made sure the day of the wedding went perfectly and what we wanted. The communication was great and we built a rapport that I appreciated! I had guests comment on how fun he was and how great the music was! People were on the dance floor the whole night. I enthusiastically recommend Mike’s Music and had an extremely positive experience working with him for my April 2022 wedding in Cape Cod, MA. Mike was professional and easy to work with from start to finish. Kelly, his Marketing and Events Manager, was very responsive with email communication and sharing information. Mike made quite an impression on my husband’s family having been the DJ at my brother-in-law’s wedding 10 years prior.

During our first Zoom call, we quickly saw Mike’s down-to-earth personality. He was personable, welcoming, and friendly. He made us feel comfortable like we had known him forever. He went through every detail of the process and was extremely transparent with what was included and the logistics of purchasing uplighting for our venue. We knew Mike would have the perfect balance of being upbeat and commanding the room while not being too over the top.

When Mike met with my husband and I in-person the week before the wedding, he went through every detail regarding the music for special dances and introductions. He took the time to play some ideas for dances we were not sure about, as well as some transitions so we could select the specific part of the song we wanted. Mike made the experience feel very personal and took the time to talk about our vision, special points of emphasis, and areas that were sensitive. Mike’s Music also utilized an online portal for couples to complete the wedding timeline, special dance selections, indicate the spelling of names for the bridal party introductions, and music preferences for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. This technology was user friendly and made our meeting seamless as we were able to indicate notes that he could see in real time prior to us meeting.

The night of our wedding, Mike used his professional judgment to make decisions about what would keep our guests engaged and on the dance floor. His voice was clear and easy to understand. He followed our recommendations from the online portal and when I indicated to change a song he made adjustments as necessary to keep the dance floor lively and fun. Mike actively checked in with me multiple times throughout the night and caught my eye to ensure we were having a good time. When asked, Mike adjusted the uplighting color and made announcements for pictures being taken and after party plans. He illustrated excellent attention to detail and strong communication leading up to and on our wedding.

Being extremely particular and knowing exactly what I wanted, Mike exceeded my expectations. His passion for music and genuine care for his couples is what everyone deserves on their wedding day! If you are considering Mike’s Music for your wedding there is no need to look any further.

Everything was flawless! The music, drapery, up lighting, photo booth, magician and violinist that the team provided were all perfect. I really appreciated Mike talking to me throughout the night to keep me updated on song requests or timelines. Mike's energy was fantastic and the dance floor was non -stop! My legs are still sore. 

Mike’s Music was absolutely incredible to work with! We unfortunately had to postpone our wedding 4 times due to Covid, but their responsiveness and flexibility was so appreciative.

We were lucky enough to have Mike as our DJ and he was easy going, professional and knew how to get the party started! We knew right when we met Mike that he was the perfect fit for our wedding. Our goal was to have the dance floor packed all night, and it was! Our guest complimented multiple times on how good our DJ was. The night was unforgettable!

From the very first interaction, we knew we wanted to have Mike's Music emcee our wedding. Mike took the time to get to know us as a couple and to understand the ambiance we wanted for our reception. He listened to our preferences and dislikes for music, and took note of the different vibes we wanted for each segment of the reception. When the pandemic forced us to reschedule (twice), Mike and his staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Due to a previously scheduled wedding Mike was unavailable to be our DJ; we had the opportunity to work with DJ Jon and had an absolute blast with him. 10/10 recommend!

It was honestly a pleasure working with Mike and Kelly. Myself coming from a fast-paced corporate world and expecting certain standards, these guys make the process fun, super easy, and go beyond to make sure you're taken care of.
