I had an unique experience with Mickie as my elopement hair & makeup artist, as we never actually met for the event. A sad string of events occurred in my life that prevented me from marrying my now ex-fiance months before our elopement date. After discovering my ex-fiance's infidelity, and after months of unproductive counseling, as well as ongoing emotional & psychological abuse, I realized I needed to exit the relationship as quickly as possible and cancel the elopement in the process. Mickie was so graceful, kind and patient with me as I managed my personal life over several weeks to handle the situation. She was there for me during a period of immense grief, communicated professionally and made sure I knew what I needed to do to cancel our contract in a timely manner. Mickie took great care for me and lifted me up during one of the most difficult experiences I've endured in my life. I highly recommend Mickie for wedding makeup and hair services. She is incredibly talented and professional, and made sure that I and my daughters/bridesmaids looked and felt our best on our wedding day. Mickie has boundless energy and a great sense of humor, even at 6 AM! She made the whole process fun and enjoyable, and was just the best start to my wedding day.. She took the time to listen to our vision and then created a look that was perfect for each of us. Anthony, her husband, did an amazing job keeping everything on track - they are incredible team. We all received compliments on our hairstyles throughout the day and would definitely recommend Mickie for any special event.

Mickie made the whole hair and make up process efficient and smooth. I felt very comfortable the whole time. Mickie and her husband were nice and friendly. The set up is impressive. Very organized and neat. They are very well equipped, I must say.

I felt happy with the outcome and it is what I was really expecting for her to deliver based on the samples I showed her. I did not do a trial as we were coming from SoCal and did not have time. I had a gut feeling that I could trust her. All I wanted was to look as natural as possible and she did it.

It was important for me to have beauty service done as I dont know if I could do it on my own. I want to look natural but also "special" as this is a special day for me and my partner, now my husband. 

I chose Mickie because her works are well done and I found tons of good reviews about her online. We were staying in a secluded area in Mariposa and I wanted someone who lives and know the area very well. I also read a review about her not canceling on an appointment. The mountains can be tricky and the weather can be unpredictable at times so this is important to me (Unless we have a very very very bad weather condition, I wouldnt force that either).

I would definitely recommend Mickie to anyone who is getting married around Yosemite area and beyond. Both her and her husband worked very well. Spend the extra money on someone you know you can rely on. I might just found her online but her expertise (evident in her social media) and confidence made me book her. I am very happy with her service!

Mickie and Anthony were a dream team on my wedding day! They showed up dark and early @ 1am, perfectly on time to start my day for my Yosemite sunrise elopement. After introduction Mickie sat me down to go over my “bridal look” one final time while Anthony set up the hair/makeup station. We proceeded with hair/makeup application and at the end Mickie made sure there was nothing at all that I’d change about my wedding look, before leaving she helped me get into my dress and actually got to witness our “first look” when the photographer arrived. She was so sweet and invested in my special day it was awesome! Not having family at our elopement was a choice we decided to make however, it was nice having someone be excited throughout the whole process with me while getting ready! Makeup and hair stayed beautiful all day long (even through a nap I took middle of the afternoon!). My hair typically doesn’t hold curls/shape very well due to the natural straight hair I have and the curls stayed all day, my own mother thought I had extensions in with how good and full my hair looked…but I didn’t! Mickie did an amazing job with helping me relax and be in love on my wedding day! The whole process start to finish was absolutely perfect and I’m very glad I went with Mickie for my hair/makeup on my special day! Definitely recommend Mickie, her professionalism and her talent! I was truly blown away at the incredible artistry Mickie demonstrated on my wedding day. At 4:30am on the dot, Mickie was at my door, ready to go. Her kind and warm hearted manner instantly put my wedding day nerves at ease. She carefully reviewed the entire plan and answered all my questions. Mickie is incredibly reliable and you can count on her to show up for you exactly when she said she would. Her skill in both hair and make-up is really outstanding. I had a very specific look for my hair in mind and she actually made it look even better than my highest hopes. When I looked back at wedding photos, I actually couldn’t believe I looked as good as I did. She went above and beyond and made me feel so incredibly beautiful on such an important day. When it came to make-up, I wasn’t too sure what I even wanted because I don’t typically wear any make-up at all. Mickie did a very natural look which came out incredibly beautiful in all the photos. She was also patient with me as I changed my mind on the eye color at the last minute. Mickie’s primary concern was that I loved the way I looked and I certainly did. I recommend her highly for your hair and make-up needs. The photos of my wedding are so precious to me and thanks to Mickie’s skill and expertise, I looked better than I thought humanly possible. Thank you Mickie! You are a true artist and a bride’s dream stylist.

If you’re eloping in Yosemite or the surrounding area, Mickie is your go to person. Being from out of town – the most stressful was finding someone to assist with hair and makeup unseen. I would recommend anyone who is on the fence to book a hair trial as soon as you arrive. Mickie was great! She was open to my wife’s ideas and had very open communication on what style she wanted for the wedding. Mickie was very prompt with arrival time, never late and was extremely professional. She appreciated that all the brushes were new and sterilized before any session. Mickie explained the entire makeup process to ensure all parties were well informed and also did not cut any corners with the makeup product. She enhanced all of the best features.

We appreciated that Mickie stayed during the hair trial session to ensure that everyone was satisfied. We would recommend just for ease of mind to do a trial session.

There is also the option to do the grooms touch up – I would highly recommend that. It is very nice to have two even brows for the photos. We also appreciated that after the makeup she provided us with touch-up make up that would last for the rest of the day if we needed it.

As for the hair – because we would be hiking, Mickie made sure that the hair would last for all photos starting from 6AM to the final photos at 6PM.

It’s very nice that Mickie came on site to our accommodations as it helped us with our early morning schedule. You get what you pay for, and we would definitely recommend Mickie for any services.

Mickie is a wonderful asset to any bride’s special wedding day. Mickie performed services for myself as mother of the groom, along with the beautiful bride, her mother, and the girls in the wedding party.

The bride did a trial session and Mickie walked her through creating the perfect look. Mickie provided great recommendations and suggestions to the bride on what will photograph well with the lighting that will be available. I highly recommend a trial session.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the wedding had to be rescheduled twice. Throughout this whole process over 2 years, Mickie was in contact with the bride providing support and reassurance. The bride and I were having issues with maskne; however, Mickie was able to provide coverage and you couldn’t even tell maskne has been a concern in the professional photos that were taken.

Not only do you receive the services of Mickie, but her wonderful husband and assistant, Anthony, who is there the day of the wedding to also help make the process smooth. They are a fantastic team!

Mickie is also knowledgable with other vendors in the Yosemite area and she was able to refer the bride and groom to a business that provided the beautiful cake and gorgeous floral arrangements for the wedding.

I found Mickie when researching hair and make up artists for my Yosemite elopement, and let me tell you SHE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. Having skin of color, I was so nervous that my foundation would not match or my overall look would not be as natural as I wanted. Mickie took my inspirational photos and absolutely KILLED IT. She and her husband make an excellent, professional, and kind team. They made the morning of my wedding unforgettable. She comes in with a full kit and set up and I was so impressed with the variety of product she owns. My make up lasted ALL DAY without moving or melting off- and we hiked all day in the beating sun. Mickie did my makeup and hair (and my groom’s hair!) for our recent elopement in Yosemite. She was a dream to work with. I’m fairly far from the Mariposa county area, so we skipped a trial and worked from notes about what the day entailed, my own preferences, and sharing reference photos. From all of that, Mickie sent me back her vision for the look — sounded solid — and on the day of, we rolled with it!

And wow, did she execute that vision beautifully. My hair did things I didn’t even know were possible, and it looked effortless, held together by magic, haha. Seriously, it held up through rock scrambling and wind. And so did the makeup! Mickie’s kit is filled to the brim with high-end products; she basically brings a Sephora to you and then some. (And bless Anthony, her husband and assistant, for keeping everything so clean and organized!)

Aside from her talent, I really appreciated Mickie’s energy throughout the entire process. She is so warm and caring. I adored all of her stories and she really helped set the tone for what turned out to be a truly wonderful day.
