For our wedding day, we knew that we wanted a photographer that was going to do more than take the standard wedding party photos. We did not want to hire a videographer, so we were looking for someone to capture every aspect of the day so that we could relive it through our photos for the rest of our lives. We began our search for a photographer who met this criteria by looking through all of the reviews and recommendations on the wedding websites. When we stumbled across Meg, we saw that her documentary style was exactly what we were looking for and we were instantly hooked on her presentation and style in her website and portfolio. We had set up an interview with Meg and with several other photographers, but Meg's portfolio along with her calming attitude and direction made our decision easy to use Meg for our wedding.

Leading up to our big day, Meg was nothing short of amazing. We navigated having to change our date multiple times due to Covid-19 restrictions, and Meg supported us and accomodated every date change along the way.

The wedding day itself was perfect, and Meg played a large part in that. Many guests complimented us on how personable and thoughtful she was during the ceremony and reception. Her timeliness and guidance during the day ensured everything went smoothly and every detail was captured. She thoughtfully navigated the inclusion of all of our family members and our foster son. Her assistant that day was also a perfect compliment. Together they were able to put together a story in photos that transport us back to that special day every time we look at them.

Our time with Meg and her work was so perfect that we invited her back to document another major milestone in our lives. Less than a year after our wedding, we were able to adopt our foster son at our home via a virtual court hearing. Meag spent the adoption day with us capturing each intimate moment from the time our son woke up through the adoption hearing. She then captured our first official family photos in the local park. Again, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect portrayal of the intimate moments we shared that day.

Meg is an absolutely wonderful wedding photographer and person! We can't say enough great things about our wedding photos or our experience working with her! We knew we wanted documentary photography for our wedding photos and were instantly drawn to Meg's calming energy and the depth of emotion she captured in her photos. Even though my fiance and I are a bit self-conscious in the spotlight and in front of the camera, we felt immediately comfortable around Meg. She is a very kind, warm presence. We were almost never aware that we were being photographed during the ceremony and reception (besides the portrait photos)—she had a remarkable way of being quietly and unobtrusively in the middle of everything, timelessly capturing all of the many layers of love and joy on the best day of our lives. I don't consider myself photogenic. I blink almost constantly, have a good side and a bad side, and my husband is well over a foot taller than me. When we met with Meg, she assured me that I didn't need to worry about these things. She was absolutely right. My husband and I felt completely at ease and relaxed throughout the whole process of her documenting our wedding. Another reviewer described Meg (who used to be a nurse) as soothing and this was one of the main reasons we hired her. She has such a soft touch in the way that she works with people and in how she captures the emotion of moments both big and small.
 
So much happens so quickly during a person's wedding. Seeing the reactions of one's family, friends, and each other later is incredibly meaningful and allows you to experience many moments you might have missed the first time. Meg and her second shooter Holly have an amazing knack for finding expressive faces and capturing emotion. We were struck by how many powerful moments and quiet and unexpected details they captured during our ceremony, reception, and in the in-between moments.

(It's worth stressing that unlike some other photographers who are intent only on capturing the couple and their families, Meg got phenomenal shots of our other guests too, which have been a hit with our family and friends. She also got a great photo of the main musician we hired, which he's been able to use for professional purposes.)

Meg will stop at nothing to get striking photos. At one point she was literally running up a hill backwards with a rolling suitcase of photography equipment. She also has some very effective tricks up her sleeves: You will adore her silhouetted-couple-against-the-night-sky shots. 

My mother, who was skeptical about the idea of hiring a wedding photographer to begin with, called the photos gorgeous, spectacular, and priceless. My dad (like a proud father) called them the most beautiful set of wedding photos he'd ever seen. All this is to say that in the end our families were very glad that we made the investment to hire Meg and that we have these photos for posterity. 

It was a complete joy to work with Meg from beginning to end, personally and professionally. Our friends adored her work and her as a person too. She and Holly felt more like guests and friends than vendors. She got the highlights video and the whole photo gallery to us quickly, to our delight. Hiring her was the best decision that we made for our wedding. We recommended her to other friends, and they were beyond thrilled and satisfied with her work as well. 

Hiring Meg was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. When we met her, we immediately felt comfortable. We spent some time getting to know each other and talking about what we wanted out of our wedding and the photos. Meg's photojournalism style fit well with what we wanted for our pictures. We're not great at formal pictures (as Meg found out!), and Meg was able to capture the joy and love we felt throughout our day. We also did an engagement session with her, which I think helped us feel more at ease in front of the camera. Meg has such an eye for detail and such a talent for being able to perfectly capture fleeting, emotional moments. We also received our pictures so much sooner than we expected! She will (hopefully!) be our photographer for our important moments in the future as well. We couldn't recommend her more!!

Meg was the photographer for my daughter’s wedding. She was fun, patient, professional and has quite the creative eye. She always smiles and was just so easy to work with.

What can I say about Meg that has not already been said? She was truly the very best and knew exactly what I wanted even though I didn't always know. We have only seen one sneak peak photo from our wedding but it is already my favorite picture, and I have had SO many compliments on it already (including it is wedding-magazine worthy). It was a cloudy misty day but Meg made sure I was comfortable and happy the whole time. She was extremely efficient and we even tackled large, extended family photos, which I know turned out great! Meg was just awesome and I was so happy to have here there with us and I cannot wait to see her art come to life.

Meg has amazing talents and I feel so fortunate to have had her as our wedding photographer. Having a wedding photographer who is passionate, professional, and daring was important to us. Not only was the Meg all of these things, but her energy is soothing on a day that could easily be hectic.
