Max was incredible to work with right from the start! He took the time to understand our vision and priorities for our wedding day, helping to ensure that everything would turn out exactly as we had imagined. On the day of the wedding, Max did a fantastic job managing our time, so we were able to capture all of the important moments without missing out on enjoying the day with our guests. He was kind, relatable, and made both my husband and me—who aren’t usually big on taking pictures—feel completely comfortable and at ease. We couldn’t be happier with the results and we highly recommend Max to anyone looking for a talented and thoughtful photographer!

Our experience with Max was fantastic from start to finish. Max was our wedding photographer and also took our engagement photos. Not only is he a very talented photographer but he has a great demeanor and can work with anyone. He was really receptive to our input while we were taking pictures but he also knows how to give direction and give you feedback during the shoot to create the best pictures possible. We were running really late before our wedding and our time for pictures with the wedding party was shortened from 2 hrs to 1 hr. Max went with the flow and made the most of it, squeezing a ton of amazing pictures into the short amount of time we gave him. He has a great calming presence in every situation, which is great for weddings where nerves and stress can be at an all time high! Max likes to do as many candid, natural photos as he can which we really liked. I think it's harder to make those look good compared to posed pictures and Max makes it look easy! After he finishes your pictures he sends you copies with an online link and also mails them to you on a thumb-drive. His policy is that the pictures are yours to keep and you should have the right to do what you want with them. This was very important to us when we were choosing a photographer. Some photographers we spoke to try to retain the rights to the photos they take and/or have you sign contracts that dictate what you can and cannot do with them. That being said, Max can still make prints for you at a reasonable price and he also makes really nice photo albums that you can buy. All in all he's a great guy and a very talented photographer. We would recommend him to anyone!

I knew before I even started looking for vendors that I wanted Max Flatow to photograph our wedding. He had photographed my best friend's wedding and her pictures were beautiful. So, deciding to hire Max was a no-brainer.

I cannot sing the praises of Max Flatow highly enough. First, and most importantly, the photos he took are STUNNING. Anyone can see this from his wonderful work on his website, but we were still blown away. Second, he was able to capture everything we asked for and made everyone feel at ease (which can be a challenge with a camera shy grandma and a squirmy 7 year old boy). Every moment was documented beautifully, and he was completely unobtrusive the entire night. He was willing to go to a second location for the after party and was so patient, warm, and truly kind.

We would higher Max for any life event. His ability to ace both posed photos and candid shots is unparalleled. He was truly a high point in a night that was full of wonderful moments with wonderful people.

Max, will you do every photography job we'll ever need, ever? Hiring him was the best decision. We don't have enough superlatives to describe his service - he was calm, incredibly easy to work with, knew the neighborhood (around The Green Building in Brooklyn, NY), kept us on schedule, made us feel comfortable, and is just an all-around super cool guy. Max did our engagement shoot in Brooklyn which was a great way to get to know him better. He shies away from awkward, uncomfortable, cliche poses and does his best to highlight YOU (and make you laugh). He is happy to talk with you as often as needed, answers questions, meets with you whenever you want, and just makes the wedding planning process that much easier. He is passionate for his craft - he balances wedding photography with food photography to ensure that he never gets bored of either. We can't wait to see our wedding photos! My wife and I can't say enough about Max! We booked Max just because he was local (literally around the block) and had several good reviews. After meeting with him we knew we had made the right choice. Not only did he accommodate our request for a quick impromptu shoot so we could send our save the dates out, but he also took time out of his vacation to finish our wedding photos and get them to us just 2 or so weeks after the wedding. He was a pleasure to work with and his pictures came out amazing! He has shots of the most perfect moments, and he was not intrusive at all. He just flowed with the day and night, and his amazing work will keep us smiling forever! Thank you Max for everything!

Max Flatow is a true professional and artist. My husband and I were looking for someone who could capture the mood of the day through photographs (since we decided to not hire a videographer) while still giving us the more traditional wedding portraits you'd want in an album. We were blown away by the results. Max exceeded our, already very high, expectations. Not only did he find creative ways to make the standard wedding portraits infinitely more interesting, he made our party completely come alive in print! We have an incredible variety of portraits, candids, and posed shots, and also shots of the decoration details. We couldn't have asked for better documentation of our wedding day. Most importantly, Max is extremely reliable and responsive. He was early to our venue on our wedding day, kept everyone calm, organized and on time, and disappeared into the background during the ceremony and reception but was "present" in every sense of the word. His assistant was also wonderful and very professional. A couple of all-around cool guys that you want to be a part of your special day.

My husband and I got married on September 5th, 2015 and used Max Flatow for both our engagement shoot and wedding. He was so flexible and really cared about what we wanted, and went out of his way to ensure we were always happy and satisfied (two perfect examples: 1. he offered us a second engagement shoot when my husband and I decided there would not be enough time on my wedding day to shoot near the Brooklyn Bridge Park, and 2. He went to preview our venue in Staten Island a week prior to the wedding since he had never worked there before).

Max is so friendly and personal, and we always felt comfortable with him. He captured gorgeous shots (the lighting, the energy, the emotion... uuuhh beautiful) without ever being intrusive, and provides such gentle guidance while shooting. He brings so much passion and professionalism to his work - every detail is beautiful (even the USB stick with our photos). I give my highest recommendation to Max Flatow Photography! He was our absolute favorite vendor to work with!

Max has been the best vendor to work with! He is incredibly responsive, open to all ideas, and most importantly, takes beautiful photos. Max was never in the way during the day, was flexible around our crazy family and all the different permutations of shots we wanted, and even directed us to help me avoid showing a double chin. He gives you all the digital copies of your photos so that you have them forever, and you can print them from any service, share them with friends and family, etc.

Max Flatow is just plain awesome. And we love his work. We got approximately one gazillion compliments about how everyone (parents, wedding party, and even guests!) thought he was the most awesome photog to walk the planet. He beautifully documented our day with his super talented ways. He is so calm and has such a cool way about him. We were worried a wedding photographer would be kind of cheesy but when we met Max for our first meeting and then for our engagement shoot we felt totally confident that he would be great to work with and shoot some amazing photos. We were so right! We immediately felt comfortable with Max. And our photos were out of this world good. We still get compliments! While Max was shooting us and our bridal party on our wedding day we came across another wedding with a wacko photographer who had music going and was yelling and clapping... it was a mess. And we were immediately even MORE grateful for Max. Max is the epitome of just a really talented kind and cool guy. We will absolutely call him for any and all upcoming life events!
