About

A native New Yorker, Anabelle's makeup career evolved through various opportunities in the cosmetics industry epicenter. Upon graduating from Hofstra University in 1992, she assisted the Beauty and Fashion Manager of Ladies' Home Journal magazine. In 1997, Anabelle moved on to Lancôme as Coordinator to the Associate Vice President of skincare marketing. Simultaneously, she studied makeup at Manhattan’s Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences.

In 1999, she embarked on her career as a Makeup Artist with the prestigious Laura Geller Makeup Studio in Manhattan. Anabelle ascended the ranks to become one of Laura's top artists for high-profile weddings and events. The latter included fashion shows, publicity events for Playboy magazine, and a guest appearance on the Montel Williams make-over episode. In addition, she appeared on camera as Laura Geller’s primary assistant during several of Laura’s QVC home-shopping showcases, which were hugely successful.

In June 2003, Anabelle launched her own freelance makeup business, Makeup by Anabelle LaGuardia. She continues to establish a loyal following of brides, socialites and photographers. Anabelle also serves as a consulting Makeup Artist to Lancôme’s Education Department, as well as their National Artistic Director, for the production of training videos.

Anabelle’s insight and advice, regarding current trends, is regularly sought after by highly circulated publications such as AM New York and The New York Observer. More recently, she has appeared on Lifetime TV’s Get Married program where she offered advice to brides on makeup for their weddings. Since January of 2008, Anabelle has been listed in the exclusive makeup directory for New York Magazine’s wedding issue.

Flawless, Glowy, and Completely Me

Anabelle is an artist, a calming force, and the reason I felt completely myself, but elevated, on my wedding day. She walked into my suite with the most grounding, steady energy, kept everything perfectly on schedule, and made the entire morning feel relaxed, fun, and beautifully intentional.

While I wear makeup, I’m not a big fan of having someone else do it. I always value looking like myself, and that’s usually where things go wrong. But Anabelle understood that instantly. She took it seriously, listened closely, and created a look that felt authentically me -- fresh, radiant, refined, and timeless. Not overdone. Not masked. Just the best, most confident version of who I actually am.

And the makeup didn’t just photograph well, it performed.
It lasted through everything: morning light, the church, endless photos, the reception, tears, hugs, wind, sweat, laughter, dancing, dinner, and even whatever chaos I’m reacting to in THAT candid photo where my glam looks completely unbothered. Every lighting scenario, every camera angle, every real-life moment…it held.

Anabelle didn’t just give me beautiful makeup.

Great Experience

She got covid but helped me through the whole process by face timing, sending me to Sephora with specific information as to what I should buy, and guiding me through the whole process!
Also, I’d had a pre-wedding session with her and the result was fantastic.

Talented and Amazing

Anabelle was the makeup artist for me wedding. I found her through one of my co-workers who has known Anabelle for years and another who is using Anabelle for her wedding. I got married on 2/27/2021 after re-scheduling my wedding due to the pandemic. Ladies, if you are looking for a professional, responsive, extremely talented, friendly makeup artist you need to contact Anabelle. Anabelle has years of experience and it shows! Anabelle highlighted my features and made me look like my best self. Not only was my makeup fabulous but Anabelle is too. She made all the ladies comfortable and was super organized. She is amazing and does not compare to any of the makeup artists that previously did my makeup for all of the weddings I have been a bridesmaid. Anabelle is AMAZING! I cannot wait to book her again in the future for a special occasion. Do not hesitate, reach out to Anabelle and book her!

Beautiful make-up and very professional.

Anabelle was wonderful to work with. She was very professional and did an outstanding job with make-up for a bridal party of 9! The make-up looked very natural and held up well throughout the entire evening.

I loved having Anabelle do my wedding makeup she is fantastic! She did my entire bridal party and few family member’s make-up for my August wedding. As a bit of a perfectionist I did two trials (to be sure of my look) and I felt very confident with Anabelle. The make-up was beautiful and natural. Additionally, I appreciated her focus on eyes (my favorite feature). She uses individual lashes rather which make the look more customizable and natural. As I had an August wedding I was extremely appreciative and impressed with how well the makeup stood up to the weather. Though my wedding and ceremony were indoors we took pictures in central park in 80 degree heat and humidity. You couldn’t even tell! She and her assistant were just incredible touching up the bridal party and keeping us looking our best through the ceremony. Anabelle is not only a talented make-up artist, but a great person to work with. She is incredibly professional and responsive following –up to emails often within just a few minutes! I truly enjoyed working with her on my wedding.

Anabelle did my makeup for both my engagement shoot and wedding. I cannot sing her praises enough. Her work is flawless yet natural. I've had my makeup done on various occasions by different people, but never felt as beautiful as when Anabelle performed her magic. She enhances your best features and gives you an amazing glow that looks great under any kind of light. My bridesmaids all raved about her. Not only is her work top notch, but she is a professional in every way from her punctuality and her quick response time to my questions. I look forward to an opportunity to work with her again.

Anabelle was extremely responsive and professional from the start. She responds very quickly to emails, answered all my questions, and was courteous and on time to both the trial in my apartment and my appointment. She even made a schedule for the day of the wedding detailing the names of the people she'd be working on, and what time she would be working on them.

On top of all her organization, her work is just flawless. I was outside for both a set of pictures, and a part of the wedding, and the photographer (among others) commented that my makeup was still perfect after standing out in the heat for an hour. Her skills speak for themselves-she is definitely worth hiring for any event, and I will be sure to use her again for any professional makeup needs I may have.

If you’re looking for the consummate professional in a makeup artist for your big event, look no further.
From the moment we engaged Anabelle for my daughter’s June 2018 wedding until she left the venue eleven hours later after post-ceremony touch-ups, Anabelle delivered 100%.
Her makeup application technique is perfection. My daughter and I both did makeup trials and it was clear that Anabelle had the artistry, skill and sensibility we were looking for. She is warm and friendly and truly listens to her clients. Anabelle understands how important it is that each of us is comfortable with the look she creates - it has to look great from both sides of the canvas!

We were a group of ten women- the bride, attendants, and moms, with different visions of what special event makeup should look like. Anabelle and her assistant, Hope, did a magnificent job of making each of us feel gorgeous. They allowed plenty of time so that no one was rushed and everyone was happy, from the minimalists, who wear little more than a swipe of lip gloss on a daily basis, to those of us who wanted a more dramatic look.

Equally important, Anabelle is a clear, responsive communicator, from your initial inquiry to last minute scheduling questions, and she is on time every time. The last thing you want when planning your event is the slightest concern that your vendors will be late or disappoint in some way. You never have to worry with Anabelle. I give her my highest recommendation!!

I have NEVER been happier with the way we looked! Anabelle worked her artistic magic on our wedding party. We all ended up with natural glowing faces, all suited to our individuality, and it lasted and lasted beautifully even when we were outside in the summer weather. Anabelle went above and beyond all expectations. After having some experiences with other make up artists where I felt I looked overdone, I stressed to Anabelle that I wanted to have a natural look for my wedding. She delivered exceptionally on that - making me feel and look like the best version of myself. She also was amazing to have by my side throughout the event, being such a calming and positive presence. I can’t recommebd her enough! Thank you, Anabelle!!
