Wedding Hair & Makeup in Napa Valley

I had the privilege to have my hair done by Natalie for my wedding in June. She came highly recommended and did not disappoint (quite the contrary). Although I just had a general idea of what I wanted, she was attentive to my desires and saw my vision immediately. Additionally, she gave me helpful tips on what to do with my hair leading up to the wedding. Throughout the whole process she was kind and professional, and I could not have been more happy with how my hair turned out!

Emi is a talented hair and makeup artist, and what makes her so specially suited for weddings is her soulful presence and deep listening. I wasn't planning to work with a HAMU artist because we were planning a microwedding on a short timeline (less than 2 months). I figured I could do my own because I prefer a minimalist look, plus I didn't have time or budget to find someone. But my family very generously insisted on covering the cost as a gift, so with only two weeks to spare I connected with Emi for an intro consultation. There were two things I was most concerned about for finding the right fit. First, I wanted to work with someone who would be able to bring out a look that would enhance my minimal/natural style. Second, since I would be the only one getting ready (we didn't have a bridal party), my HAMU artist would be the person I'd spend the most time with on my wedding morning! I wanted someone to be the right personality fit with me too. When I looked at Emi's portfolio photos, they immediately resonated with me. The photos showed several different brides who each had distinctive looks, and looked very comfortable and relaxed. It intuitively gave me the cue that Emi was really listening to each person and drawing out the qualities and details that made them feel like their best self. And when I connected with Emi over Zoom, it felt like an immediate click. Actually working with Emi in our preview session and on the day of my wedding went so far above and beyond expectations. Emi's approach is truly collaborative and helped to draw out a vision for how I wanted to look that I wasn't sure how to articulate. Her patience in the preview session created a lot of space to explore and hone in the details. We first tried dialing the drama way up just to see how it might look and feel, even though Emi's stylistic sweet spot is a more natural-elevated soft glam (which is my preference too, and where we landed at the end of the day). Pushing the edge of my comfort zone was a fun process to do with Emi's guidance, and we were then able to pull it back to the level that felt just right. I absolutely love the way I looked and felt on my wedding day! And having worked with Emi was a transformative experience that gave me confidence to dial up my everyday look with the eyeshadow palette she used. I also especially appreciated Emi's authentic presence. She brings the right energy for what's needed in the moment. I barely slept the night before the wedding and started the morning tired. She didn't try to amp me up, but rather let me be in a low energy state. We turned on some music and started hair and makeup without talking much... and just letting myself wake up slowly was just what I needed to allow my energy to rise again naturally. I'm describing this because I think anyone would have been tempted to try to emphasize excitement or fun as what I "should" be feeling on my wedding day. But the fact that Emi knew that listening to my body was the right thing for that moment really told me, wow, I could not have chosen someone who'd be a more perfect fit! I'd sum up Emi's services as being perfect for anyone who's looking for a skillful, talented, collaborative HAMU artist, and an authentic, genuinely caring presence! I'd recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone and everyone!

I absolutely adored my experience with The Powder room! I used them for my wedding From start to finish, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and truly talented. They helped create beautiful looks for both my mother and my mother-in-law, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. They also did stunning hair for all of my bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid had the chance to chat with Jen and collaborate on a hairstyle that perfectly suited their hair texture and dress, which made everyone feel so confident and special. Jen was amazing—polite, friendly, and so easy to talk to. She fit right in with us and genuinely felt like part of the fun on such a special day. I have nothing but wonderful things to say and would highly recommend them to any bride looking for a seamless, joyful, and beautiful bridal experience!

I'm someone who doesn't wear make-up almost at all, and my only times wearing it were when it was applied by my late sister, who was an artist and always did an amazing job making me feel beautiful. Finding someone to live up to that expectation on one of the most important days of my life was going to be a big ask, but Teresa delivered! I saw her work and recognized that she's clearly able to do a look to highlight brides' beauty without it feeling like they were drowning in make-up that would feel uncomfortable all day, and that's how it turned out when she did mine, as well. Not only did she manage to make me forget I was wearing make-up (as far as no sticky eye feeling, no wanting to scrub my face), she was able to somehow intuit exactly what I was looking for. But the make-up wasn't even as impressive as the wonders she worked with my hair, creating a style that had all the qualities of the inspiration photos I showed her while being completely unique! Since the price (for brides) was a bit more than what I'd anticipated/ seen elsewhere locally, I was worried I would get a generic 'do and regret the cost, but it was 100% worth it! No-one else could have pulled off her magic (without a trial run, to boot!), and she did it SO efficiently. She had mentioned this on her website, and her reviews mention it, too, but I had myself (hair & makeup) and three other people getting everything done, and we started at, like 8am (which is way better than what I see some brides say), and that was with a finish time shortly after 1300 or something. I was worried based on the styles I'd picked that it would take north of two hours to finish my look, but she stuck to her timeline without fail, even with my MOH not remembering she'd only requested booking one service and instead finangling her way into getting both done despite the day of change (x.x), which Teresa also managed to accommodate. She was so polite despite this unanticipated wrench in the plans, and it didn't throw off the morning's groove at all. She was such a pro in every regard, and I could never be convinced anyone else could possibly do the perfect job she did in keeping us on our timeline and looking fabulous at the end of it!

Victoria and her team were so professional and made sure not only me but my bridal party and my Mom were looking absolutely perfect while making sure we were all comfortable and happy. I felt and looked amazing and I definitely recommend Victoria to anyone looking for top notch glam without breaking the bank.

So happy with how my bridal tan and process went! Sarah went above and beyond for me and all my bridesmaids! She drove over 3 hours to come tan us the day before my wedding and the color was flawless. She has so many different color options to tailor to your skin tone. Will definitely be using her again and I highly recommend her to anyone in search of a spray tan artist for any occasion!

Working with Whirlwind Blow Dry Lounge for my wedding day was a great experience. They were responsive and detailed. Everyone who received makeup services loved the way it turned out. I loved my makeup! My hairstyle turned out beautiful, but my curls ended up falling before the end of the night.

Katie and the salon are fantastic. The whole process so far has been great. Katie is easy to communicate with and the salon offers reasonable pricing for wedding hair, make-up, and styling.
