Little Blue Box Weddings is a full-service wedding and event planning firm. Nicol Turner is a a wedding consultant with Little Blue Box Weddings, a Sausalito-based boutique wedding planning firm. She has been planning weddings and other special events in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 1990.

Together with Nicol and her fabulous team, my husband and I planned a destination wedding in my home town of Napa. Wedding planning is stressful enough, but doing it from another country is another thing! We are so lucky to have worked with Nicol and Mia who made the destination wedding planning not only fun, but easy on us. We teamed up with Nicol early in the process, however her official work only commenced four weeks prior to our wedding date. Nicol was there for us from the very beginning by offering suggestions on vendors (when we asked) and how to create the ambiance we dreamed of for our wedding. She understood how difficult the time change was, Aus to US, and how frustrating the process can be to select vendors that would exceed our expectation site unseen and was patient with us while we made our decisions.
The wedding day was incredible. As a bride, there is a lot on your mind the day of the wedding. Nicol and Mia were on top of every detail to transportation, timing, execution, vendor payments...just everything. I couldn't have done it without them.
I highly recommend Little Blue Box Weddings and hope you will enjoy working with them as much as Matt and I did for our wedding. Thank you Nicol and Mia!

When we started planning our December 2012 wedding, I didn’t feel like we had enough time at al. Though I am good at researching and organizing, I’m also mommy to a wonderful, but also, very demanding 4 year old. I needed help. I came across Nicol's website and the wedding venue that we later chose. Admiring the many ‘personal’ touches that I could see she, as a professional, evidently brought to the weddings.

Many weddings in her portfolio clearly had a few things in common, but it was obvious that the events were very well carried out; and the couples looked happy, not at all stressed or worried. I had spoken to other planners, too. Some didn’t even reply, others were not willing to discuss facts and important details. First conversation with Nicol: we were talking about relevant stuff. Securing a venue, budget and vision.

She was always responsive, helpful and patient. We mostly communicated (very conveniently) via phone and email. She’d keep us on track, work on every request and give constructive criticism and advice when need be. When I’d ‘freak out’, I felt comfortable enough to convey this to Nicol, she’d reply with comforting words, schedule a call for as soon as the next day, discuss all my fears and issues, and restore my peace of mind.

Nicol recommended great vendors and set up all the meetings, negotiated contracts and worked out details with every single one – even the vendors that we had searched out ourselves.

Despite it pouring down buckets on our wedding day, and flooded the surrounding area, our ceremony moved indoors and everything was absolutely flawless. We are so grateful for everything Nicol has done before, during and after our wedding. She made our wedding (as well as rehearsal dinner AND post reception after-party) happen exactly the way we hoped for and picture

Nicol is incredible. She is everything you could want in a wedding planner: savvy, smart, responsive, and attuned to our desires/needs. Her suggestions were always spot-on, she negotiated brilliantly with our vendors on our behalf, and she is an utter joy to work with. Our wedding went off without a hitch--no small feat--and we have Nicol to thank for that.

We could not have been happier with Little Blue Box weddings. Do yourself a favor and book Little Blue Box.

We worked with Nicol after having secured our wedding ceremony and reception site. We set up a tentative budget early on and from there she was extremely helpful in providing several options for each type of vendor that fell within a reasonable range of where we had set our budget. For two people without much time or a clear-cut idea of what we wanted, having our choices narrowed down for us was invaluable! We could not have been happier with each of the vendors we selected, and it was nice knowing that many of these vendors had experience working together. Nicol was great to work with - she was flexible with our schedule, easy to communicate with, and kept us on track! She provided us with time lines to follow and scheduled bi-weekly phone conferences with us to make sure that progress was being made, along with addressing any concerns we had. Of almost equal importance was Nicol's willingness to communicate somewhat regularly with our mothers, who could best be described as "worriers." Nicol was great about calming any fears they had and that certainly made our lives easier!

Our wedding day was amazing and to us it seemed as though everything went as planned - or better! We cannot thank Nicol enough for being such an integral part in making our wedding day so perfect.

We hired Nicol with Little Blue Box Weddings for an a la carte venue search as well as day-of (really it's month-of) coordination. Nicol planned two trips for us to see venues she picked out, and we ended up falling in love with one (Kunde). For the coordination piece, Nicol was extremely flexible and kind to respond to my emails and questions well before the month-of period since we had a very long engagement. She went on multiple walk throughs of the venue with us during that time. The month of she confirmed everything with our vendors and did two calls with us to make sure everything was on track. For the day of, everything went flawlessly and she executed my "vision" for all my DIY ideas perfectly, along with her assistant! A few little things went wrong but I didn't hear about them until after the day of, since Nicol handled them so well! Nicol even picked up an ENTIRE SUV worth of our wedding crap FROM our florist (long story) and transported it to the venue. Thank you for everything Nicol!

I really liked Nicol the first few times I spoke with her on the phone and was convinced that she was the right choice to help plan our destination wedding. Her referrals also gave her great reviews and we signed the contract prior to our first (and only) meeting. This meeting went well, though this is when we first learned that she was going to be on maternity leave during most of our wedding planning. We felt that it would be wrong of us to try to get out of the contract at this point even though I felt a little mislead about her personal involvement in the planning and so we continued in good faith. However, during this process, we were often left without much needed guidance and often times our interaction was limited to her staff sending links to recommended vendors without any additional guidance or advice. Sometimes, instead of replying to our specific questions/inquiries we were just reassured that everything would be great and not to worry and that they're keeping an eye on the timeline. This understandably made me nervous having had no previous experience with this company and ultimately added to my already stressful work and travel schedule. They insisted on sticking to their own timeline even though it did not coordinate very well with my work travel schedule. Essentially, I ended up investing a LOT more of my own time into planning than I expected to. The pressures and stresses that I expected to be alleviated by hiring a planner did not go away and I felt that the amount of money we paid for this service was not a good value. In retrospect, Nicol did help us find most of the vendors which we were very pleased with, but the much needed guidance, help with selections, follow up with vendors, contract negotiations, and communication with us in general was lacking in quality.
