About

Koop Diamond Cutters, Inc. began its business venture in 1966, founded by Clarence “Whitey” Koop. Whitey started the business solely cutting diamonds until his son Butch began adding his artistic flair creating Custom Koop jewelry pieces on an individual basis. Expanding their venture, Butch started the Cincinnati Casting Company in 1974 as a separate entity, further pushing the manufacturing side of the business. Those relationships that were established through Cincinnati Casting serve as the solid foundation of the family owned business today. Both the cutting and manufacturing sides of the business were successfully operated under one roof for several years before the decision was made to incorporate the businesses together. Through the years a third generation has expanded Koop Diamond Cutters, Inc. in to a full manufacturing plant and retailing center for fine jewelry needs of any design capacity.

Yesteryears journeys have developed the passion seen today through Koop Custom jewelry pieces created by Butch and sons Justin and Elliott Koop. It is an evolution that starts with a creative conceptual meeting, and leads to the jewelry art design process involving sketches and computer-aided technologies of the design, analysis and manufacture of the jewelry (CAD/CAM). Koop Diamond Cutters, Inc. continues to evolve its business by embracing the powers of this CAD/CAM technology. The Matrix software allows Koop to replicate, change and design new 3D jewelry on screen while generating a detailed color preview image that can be printed or emailed to the customer. Matrix outputs all file types generating dimensionally accurate wax models, which finally unveil a precise piece of jewelry through casting, setting and polishing. The result is an exclusive piece of Koop Custom jewelry.

We went to Koop' and we're so glad we did!

I've been a Koop Diamond Cutters customer for about 20 years. They made my first diamond earrings from a picture I had seen in a magazine (back before pinterest). They made my sister's wedding ring set. I love the grab-a-gem event. Let's just say I've been a fan for a long time. But now, they REALLY have my loyalty!

My fiance designed my ring on a chain jewelry store's website. When it arrived, it was missing a stone and didn't really live up to the image on the screen. (We took that ring back to the chain store.) We went to Justin Koop and he made a better version of that ring - 14k white/rose gold vs. 10k, better quality diamond, and personal touches like scrollwork. The craftsmanship is impressive for sure, but the PRICE! The price with Koop was just over HALF what we would have paid for the inferior chain-store ring. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My husband designed my engagement ring with Koop Diamond Cutters and it's the most beautiful thing! We also designed and purchased our wedding bands here. Justin Koop and his team really understood our vision and the quality of work is phenomenal! We highly recommend going to Koop Diamond Cutters for all your engagement, wedding and custom jewelry gem needs!

I highly recommend Koop Diamond Cutters. They were so great to work with and really made a beautiful product. My fiance and I brought them pictures of a ring style that I loved and my grandmother's diamond (which we wanted to use for the center stone). They created the most beautiful engagement ring. They were also willing to keep some of the details secret from me. My mom went with my fiance to pick it up and after the initial consultation meeting and after they sized my finger, I was kept completely in the dark. It was the perfect combination of being involved in the ring while still keeping the proposal and the actual finished product a surprise. My fiance was very pleased with his experience working with Justin Koop.

I had been to Koop Diamond Cutters previously to restore my grandmother's diamond. Other jewelers quoted me RIDICULOUS prices to have a few chipped edges of my diamond cleaned up (One even said upwards of $900 - and I think they were planning on cutting it more than I wanted!!). I brought my diamond to Koop and they did a beautiful job for only $90! They were able to clean it up and retain as much carat weight as they could.

We're planning on getting my fiance's wedding ring made there when the time comes. I would go to Koop first for any major jewelry purchase or restoration! They're fantastic! I've recommended them to all of my friends who are planning on getting engaged!
