Kim alterations is where I normally go to get my clothes altered but for my wedding I wanted to go where the bridal shop recommended. I wish I didn’t.... I should have just gone to where I know and love. After getting my dress from the original bridal alteration store it was too big. I went to Kim with less then 2 weeks before my wedding and she fixed everything. She had it back to me in one week and made of fit like a glove. I will never go anywhere else again.

I was so worried to get my wedding dress altered, thank god I found Kim! My dress was not a typical wedding dress in the sense that it was not structured. It is a very stretchy form fitting material with a delicate & intricate lace overlay. My dress is a Grace Loves Lace dress ( I Highly recommend them as well) and these are all handmade in Australia, because of this the require the final measurements 3 months prior to the wedding so they have time to make & ship the dress. At the time the measurements were due I didn't know what shoes I was wearing so I mad the dress extra long - you can always make it shorter right?! I got the dress and the shoes and the dress needed to come up a few inches at least, I was worried because the lace overlay at the bottom is not straight, it is cut along the shape of the roses, I didn't know how it would look after being altered. Kim did an amazing job, she was able to take off the bottom roses, bring up the length & re-attach the roses at the bottom so I didn't loose the beautiful details :) she also added a button bustle & shortened the straps for me. She was great to work with, reasonably priced, super sweet and a master at what she does. Highly, highly recommend :)

I went the Kim’s Alterations a couple months before my wedding last fall. She was recommended by the bridal shop I purchased my wedding dress from.

I went to Kim’s three total times for my alterations. She stressed the importance of taking a lot time to complete my alterations and I’m happy I listened to her because my dress came out perfect.

There are a ton of photos of her brides all over her shop walls, you can tell she’s been doing it for a long time. There were several women who picked up their finished dresses while I was with her. One was the mother of a groom whose dress was ruined by one of the big retailers (rhymes with Avid’s); she told my mom and I how happy she was to find Kim because she was able to fix her dress.

Kim’s price was really great as well. I shopped around and she charged less than other places. Kim was a really nice person to work with, she made me feel very comfortable.

Kim & her team at Kim's Alterations did such a wonderful job with my lace wedding gown! My dress was not easy to work with, with three layers of lace and a cathedral train. For the alterations, they had to shorten the train, shorten the hem of each layer of the dress, take in an inch or two in the bodice, and add a bustle. For the train, they had to remove the lace appliques prior to shortening, then reapply. I was slightly nervous, but they handled all the lace well! In the end my dress looked stunning and fit perfectly. I wouldn't have felt as beautiful as a bride should if it wasn't for Kim.

I originally purchased my wedding dress from The Bustle in Del Mar which was beautiful but about 4 sizes too large and their cost for wedding dress alterations were really expensive so after a little yelp research I decided to give Kim a try. She did an amazing job with the dress. She hemmed it, took it in and even added the bustle all within my budget and for half the price of what The Bustle wanted to charge me. I even had my husband bring his wedding pants to Kim. She was professional, sweet and honest. I will be going back to Kim for many years to come!
