My husband and I came to Margaret’s with all of our wedding attire needs. Naomi handmade my veil and altered my 100% silk Augusta Jones dress, and Sandra hemmed my husband’s suit. Additionally, Margaret’s Cleaners handled the cleaning and restoration of my gown. They also cleaned and pressed my husband’s suit. Our experience with all of these services was nothing sort of excellent.

Naomi created my dream cathedral-length veil for a fraction of the cost had I purchased it in store. Her alterations on my gown were done impeccably, and my dress fit me to a T. Naomi is the sweetest person to work with and she put me at ease knowing my gown was in excellent, loving hands. She listened to every concern I had without judgement, allowing me to rest easy in the decisions we made. She was my fairy godmother for a few months, and I feel so fortunate that I got to work with her.

Additionally, the restoration process is second to none—once again, I felt safe entrusting my gown to them. While Margaret’s services may cost more than other providers, you really get what you pay for.

Brides, look at their restoration process and how it differs (and is superior to) other cleaners! Also, nothing looks better than a dress that is fitted to your height and shape. My dress was already gorgeous, but once it was altered to fit me (hemmed, back-stitch at the bust, letting the lining out a smidge in my hips, properly bustled), it was DIVINE. My very picky, exercise and fashion obsessed aunt said my dress looked like it was made for me no less than three times.

We sent Margaret's Couture Bridal our mother's wedding gown from 1956. The gown had been in the same box for 68 years. When we opened it, it was yellowed, with stains the previous cleaner had never removed. Margaret's brought the gown's creamy silk back to almost the original shade of cream and replaced the lace on the veil, which had torn and become fragile over the years of storage. Her niece can now wear the gown at her wedding.

They brought the beauty back to my dress, cleaning the most delicate jeweled stitching and removing 20-year-old set-in stains. This dress has the same glistening silk as the day I wore it. I had the absolute best experience with Lupita at Margaret’s! I came in with only 10 days before leaving for my wedding trip, and she somehow managed to create the most beautiful bustle for my very complicated dress. My gown had so many layers, and she still made it look effortless. She created 25 individual bustle points and even color-coded each one to make it easy for my helper on the wedding day. Thanks to Lupita, I was able to wear the dress of my dreams all night long. I’m so grateful for her talent, patience, and attention to detail!

I had a wonderful experience at Margaret’s Cleaners, and I can’t say enough good things about Lupita. I came in feeling stressed after a previous seamstress left pinholes and a snag in my wedding dress. Lupita immediately put my mind at ease. She carefully looked over the gown and helped me understand that the only alteration needed was simply crossing the straps in the back, since the dress is cut on the bias.

She was incredibly professional, kind, and knowledgeable, and I truly appreciated the time she spent with me. If considering the use of a legacy bridal gown, do not hesitate to use Margaret's Cleaners. My daughter wished to use my 46 yo couture bridal gown and veil from 1979. The original champagne color of the satin and lace bridal gown had changed to a horrible coffee color with several dark brown stains. Brittany Peyton, Bridal Manager provided a clear overview of the restoration process, potential for possible poor outcome, repair work that might be needed due to restorative cleaning and cost/time frame for each component. Following two soak cleanings over several days and individualized stain attention, the dress was once again returned to it's original color after years of storage in a cedar chest. I wish I was able to show photos with this review! The transformation was astounding. The gown was now ready for alterations and repairs to seams and lace detail due fabric and thread being 46 years old. Enter Lupita De La Mora, Couture and Bridal Alterations master seamstress. Her knowledge of fabric and fitting techniques was astounding, honed as the former costumer and seamstress for the Los Angeles Opera. She was very open to alteration concerns and was able to present her thoughtful ideas on how to make them a reality. Over the course of three fittings (coordinated by Brittney), Lupita expertly altered the waist, bust line and proportions of the lace sleeve settings and reset delicate bodice lace to lie smoothly on my daughters frame. She reset the back zipper and replaced a multitude of rusted snaps. Several tears/holes in the bridal lace magically disappeared under her needle. She procured a new slip to support the gown and altered the same to perfect length and proportions and her suggestions to modernize the bridal veil were spot on. It must be noted that there was a substantial amount of hand sewing of delicate lace atop satin. All seams were finished to perfection and she also created a way for the bridal train to be draped and lifted beautifully by a wrist strap for the brides ease of movement at the wedding reception. I cannot emphasize enough how skilled Lupita's work is ... she is a master seamstress who made this couture gown come alive again. My daughter dreamed of wearing my bridal gown at her own wedding. I was pleased that the expense of restoration and alteration was actually comparative to the cost of a new (non couture) gown and alteration of same. Again, Bridal Manager Brittany was quite forthcoming on pricing for cleaning as well as alterations. I even knew the cost of failure if the original cleaning outcome was not as hoped ... but that certainly was not the outcome! With a beautiful bridal gown as the centerpiece for a lovely and memorable wedding, Margaret's should definitely be on one's short list of consultations by individuals desiring couture restoration services in the United States. Located in San Diego, it was well worth my daughter flying in from South Lake Tahoe for the initial consultation and all fittings. My sincere thank you and gratitude to Lupita De La Mora, Brittney Peyton and the Margaret's employees behind the scenes for making our legacy bridal gown restoration experience so positive. Each visit was a delight creating more happiness and excitement for the bride ... just as it should be as she approached her wedding day.

Met with Brittany Peyton, Bridal Manager at the San Diego Convoy Street location for the boxing of my beautiful wedding dress. I was able to see the dress all cleaned up and placed nicely in the box with tissues and white glove treatment. I got to take photos with my dress and was given white gloves as well if I wanted to touch the dress. Brittany was very knowledgeable and informative and was very patient with all of the questions we had. Very personable. She said that I should come back with the dress in about 3-5 years to check on it and they would be more than happy to re-box it for me and as that service comes with my warranty. The cost to clean the dress and veil was about $866 (that was with a $100 discount) and since the dress was thousands of dollars, I think it is worth it since they cleaned it and fixed anything that needed repair. Their attention to detail and care along with the warranty for future care makes it worth it. My mom recommend this place as well as the bridal boutique that I got the dress from, Blush Bridal. I now recommend this place for high end garments.

I had my wedding dress cleaned and I’m so happy with the results! I didn’t have an outfit change, I wore the same dress all night so it had quite a bit of wear and tear. Now it looks brand new and preserved for a beautiful memory!

I had a great experience with Brittany at Margaret’s! I had my wedding gown pressed here before the wedding, and cleaned and preserved after the wedding. They did an amazing job with the cleaning, my wedding was on the beach so the hem and train were very dirty from being in the sand all night. They were even able to repair a few tears in the tulle, and fix some loose beads. I loved that they gave me a booklet with before and after photos, my gown looked like it had never been worn! I also chose to have my gown preserved in a beautiful box for safekeeping, along with my veil. The box is museum quality preservation, so it won’t get ruined over time. Brittany kept in touch with me through every step, and explained the whole process. I’m so glad I chose Margaret’s for my wedding gown care, and would recommend them to every bride!
