About
J&J Visuals is the collaboration between photographers Jason Andrew and Julie Hau. We met while studying at the International Center of Photography where we both fell in love with film, documentary projects and each other. Since 2008, we’ve traveled extensively, working on long-term documentary projects while working for a growing list of editorial clients worldwide.
We first began photographing weddings for friends and family, loving the spontaneous nature of the day while being able to document them in a traditional photojournalistic style. We love spending the day with our couples, witnessing a sliver of their lives while we strive to capture the beauty and humor that presents itself. We always work as a team, photographing in our two distinct but complimentary styles. Our photographs are a blend of a quiet and casual documentary style that mimics our editorial work, creating a photographic story of your day.
Jason is a regular contributor to The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times Weekend Magazine and Le Monde among others. The PGB Photo Awards, PDN Photo Annual, American Photography and the Magenta Foundation have awarded his documentary work and he was a finalist for the prestigious Leica Oskar Barnack Award in 2012 for his work documenting African soccer players in Turkey.
Julie currently works as an assistant for some of NYC top editorial photographers while continuing to work on personal projects here in America and back in Germany. The Magenta Foundation and Shots Magazine have awarded her work from the Ukraine.
