When I first decided that we needed a wedding planner, I imagined something very cookie cutter- someone would set up tastings and coordinate with the venue. What I got from Hutchinson Design Group was far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed. My newborn son gained uncles and we made friends for life. Not only were they able to customize my very eclectic and unique desires- all within my budget- but their professionalism and contacts made wedding planning fun. I looked forward to every call and my husband and I enjoyed many laughs on the ride. As soon as I met Kyle, I knew HDG was for us. They were open to being creative with the idea of a wedding. We were slated to marry in July of 2020. And then COVID hit. They effortlessly pivoted to a new date and created the most amazing ‘Pause the Dates’ that captured our personalities. As time went on, our wedding evolved as our family grew. By the time we got married in July of 2021, we scratched the idea of a traditional wedding and went with a Wellebration- a wedding/welcoming of our new son/celebration of the health of our family and friends. Kyle and John work together in a complimentary way that allowed both me and my husband to feel at ease speaking our opinions. As one can imagine, being a wedding planner includes times of awkward conflicts between fiancé’s and their families. Well, Kyle and John never shied away from any of those moments, oftentimes stepping in to moderate without crossing the line. And boy were we happy. As a bride, I will even admit that there were times that HDG challenged my anger with my soon to be husband with care and a deeper understanding of the bigger picture. To put that bluntly, they let me know when I was being too much. And our relationship was such that I actually listened. We had a number of added features that spoke to our relationship. We wanted a place where friends and family could plant seeds for us to care for and grow, we had a prescription for wellness where guests could record the ways they maintained their health in the pandemic, we had a henna artist, a 360 photo booth, a goat tasting contest, Carnival dancers and 2 DJs to cater to both of our cultures. The decor was on point and represented exactly what we wanted a celebration of who we were and what we loved. Our relationship with John and Kyle was so strong that we trusted they completely understood what we were going for- ethnic baskets to hand out towels to wave in the air during party time, lanterns to infusion the mixed culture of the Caribbean, lighting, custom monogram and flags! The amount of detail and care that went into our big day was immense. Kyle and John became more than just planners to us. My son was born during COVID and had his first outings with HDG. He had a tasting, and loved to hang with his new uncles. He was used to hearing them on the phone and looked forward to our video calls. On the day of the actual event, we were all set up on the rooftop- and then it rained. They effortlessly flipped all the plans to continue the party in the lobby. And then, flipped back to the roof! When I tell you I worried about nothing on my wedding day- that is an understatement. Hutchinson Design Group is far more than an event planning group. They are friends. Kyle and John are outstanding human beings and their empathetic kindness shines through their work. They worked tirelessly to make sure our vision came to fruition - and it was not easy. They never shut our ideas down and they brought so much to the table to make what we wanted better than what we could have fathomed. HDG gives you a personal connection to people who care for you when you need to be cared for the most.

Thanks to the HDG, we were able to achieve the weddings of our dreams. A team of professionals led by Kyle and John, this group has the resources, experience and ability to pull of event at any level. With 2 weddings to host my husband an I were able to calmly execute things with the guidance of the HDG, and often had unique access to new and amazing decor, vendors, and components for our special days. HDG is truly a team of visionaries, and we are beyond grateful.

HD Group did our wedding in June 2017 and every aspect was just perfect. They did so much of the work for us that coordinating a wedding in Virginia while living in Florida was actually pretty easy. Very responsive to emails and phone calls, and very flexible at meeting with us, even over their Christmas vacation and holiday weekends. They rolled with us through last minute requests and changes to what we wanted, and were always very professional. They were worth every penny!

They promised us all time lines would be met and our wedding would start on schedule and they kept their promise. Everything from the decorations, table linen, and food was excellent. Not only were we pleased and overwhelmed with such a fabulous job well done, but so were our guest. They were all impressed with the wedding ceremony as well as the reception. Now I am not just saying this because it was my wedding, but hands down...this was the MOST BEAUTIFUL WEDDING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! Even my guests were saying the exact same thing! If you want your fairy tale wedding to come to life...CALL THESE PEOPLE NOW!!!! They are NOT wedding planners (and don't call Kyle that cause he hates that ;) lol.
