Alex fell in love with weddings the minute her partner, Jim, popped the question in 2017. Once the thrill of planning their own wedding was over, she knew she had to stay involved in the industry somehow. With their background in documentary filmmaking, they knew they could create a really special boutique experience for sentimental couples, so Alex and Jim started Huckleberry Wedding Films in 2019.
Alex has 10 years of experience as a documentary filmmaker and video journalist. Her work has appeared on HBO, The Boston Globe, Center for Public Integrity and The Today Show, among others. In her spare time she enjoys pretty much anything creative, from tap dancing to cooking, and anything outside, from hiking to scuba diving.
Jim has more than 10 years experience as a photojournalist and documentary filmmaker. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Player's Tribune, The Dallas Morning News and National Public Radio, among others. In Jim's spare time, he loves anything outside, like mushroom hunting and hiking. He's also been practicing banjo since he and Alex moved to Austin in 2020.
