I don’t even know where to begin when writing this review. I found Shawna on instagram when we were looking for engagement photos. She was so kind and responsive from day one. At our engagement session she made us feel so comfortable and helped guide us through the whole session. She is such a genuine person and truly wonderful to work with!

We stayed in touch and even tho her world took her to a different state, we wanted to use Shawna and her wild talent to capture our wedding day on Super8 film and Polaroids. WE COULD NOT BE IN MORE AWE OF THR OUTCOME.

In addition to Shawna listening and creating a video that captures everything from our wedding day (the details, the ceremony, the people, the moments, the lights, the happiness) she was truly a person I just enjoyed having around on my day and to be there while I got ready and waited for ceremony to start. She has a calm presence and you don’t need to worry when you hire her. Just let her do her thing and I promise the outcome will be more than you imagined.

I am so grateful that I found Shawna with Honey Rose Photo! I searched and searched for photographers to capture our engagement and wedding season meticulously. I am a pretty laid back & easy-going person, but I knew choosing a photographer was possibly the single most important decision we would make along our wedding planning process. I actually ended up finding Shawna through the venue we loved, saw some of her work there, and immediately knew she was the one. We chatted on the phone and hit it off right away!! We decided to go with her highest package for our wedding as it is an incredible deal for the level of professional she is. The Emerson package (I believe it was called) included engagement pictures as well, so we got to spend time with her and meet her before our big day taking engagement pictures around Downtown Dallas!! The pictures turned out better than I could have ever hoped. People ask me all the time who my photographer is and say that her style is so unique and eccentric and beautiful, and I certainly agree.

On our wedding day, Shawna felt more like a part of our wedding party than a vendor or photographer. She communicated with our wild bunch like a pro, kept us on schedule, and captured every moment I could have hoped for and more. I usually feel awkward in front of a camera, but Shawna brought out the most photogenic and spunky versions of ourselves that day. The hardest part about booking with Shawna of Honey Rose Photo, is deciding which pictures to have printed, framed, and made into a book - they are truly all amazing. Thank you so much!

When they say your photographer is the most important vendor for your wedding, they’re right. Shawna is so talented, I instantly fell in love with her photos when I found her. She was with us from the beginning of wedding planning. She shot our engagement photos and of course the wedding day. She takes the time to get to know you as a couple, answers any questions you may have, and truly listens to how you want all your special moments captured. Not only did she capture the emotions of the big day but she was able to capture the mood and essence of our wedding venue, the Schoolhouse. I know all my memories and feelings will come back to me each time I look at her photos.

I wanted a 70’s vibe for my engagement photos and I loved that Shawna was totally up for it! She took the time to make us an inspiration board that helped me form the look I wanted. On the day of, she was perfectly accommodating and fun to shoot with! It was our first time getting our photos professionally taken and she made the time go by in a breeze. She knew exactly how to get us moving and feeling good, so there was almost no room at all to feel awkward, it just felt natural! Our gallery turned out AMAZING and everyone’s gushing at our photos (there were plenty of them). We will forever cherish these photos for the years to come! We’re still not sure of our wedding plans at the moment and our budgetary needs, but we won’t ever regret getting amazing photos to use forever. If anything, please invest in a great photographer that shares your enthusiasm and vision - you won’t regret choosing Shawna as your photographer!

It’s hard to put into words just how wonderful Shawna is as a person and especially as a photographer. She captured our engagement and wedding photos so beautifully and the gallery was an absolute VIBE! She’s so kind, gives great directions if you’re kind of shy or not used to having your photo taken, affirms how absolutely stunning you are, incorporates lots of movement to get beautiful shots, captures gifs and polaroids and psychedelic looking photos with special lenses and even some Super 8 video footage. Look no further- Shawna is your girl!

Shawna with Honey Rose was a dream to work with. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera (something we haven't really been great at). She captured our day with such a creative eye and documented every detail with such precision. Her response time is QUICK. A day or two after the wedding I had about 6 photos already edited and ready to share. About a week after the wedding she sent me an album of approximately 120 photos fully edited and ready to share; then assured me that I would have a lot more soon to come after. I was not expecting such a quick response! I've had many friends grow frustrated with how slow their photographers are to get their photos to them and I was blown away by how quickly I got a lot of mine back. I'm so thankful that I went with Honey Rose!

If you are like me and think that photography is THE MOST important component of your wedding day, then you absolutely need Shawna to be a part of it!! Shawna graced us with her presence for our elopement in Costa Rica and then again at our reception back home 2 weeks later. She was even able to give us a huge sneak peek so that we could have elopement photos on display at the reception! All the images turned out phenomenally! She will not disappoint!!!

Hiring Shawna was one of the best decisions I made for our wedding this past October! We decided to forgo a videographer and put all of our alloted budget towards our dream photographer and we are so happy we did! We did an engagement session in our home along with the actual wedding event and now we have literally a thousand photos we absolutely love and will cherish. I had a specific image in mind for the mood of our photos for the reception, moody, emotion based, not posed at all, just lots of fun movement and dancing in twinkle lights, and Shawna and the 2nd photographer that she brought absolutely nailed it. There was a person with a cell phone out at our ceremony and Shawna very tastefully avoided them in the images so they is not visible in the most important shots, so I very much appreciate that. Just in general, Shawna's shot framing was super flattering and made my parent's home look amazing. My parents have called the photos the best ever of our family! Everyone looks like their best selves and I feel beautiful every time I go through the gallery! She also included some gifs of fun/important moments like the "you may kiss the bride" moment and during our send off driving off in a corvette- which we cherish since we chose to not hire a videographer. We're a couple that never takes photos of ourselves and are uncomfortable in front of a camera and Shawna really made us feel at ease and
I'm shocked at how much my husband loosened up and was himself! All around amazing experience and I definitely recommend her services!!

Shawna is an amazingly talented photographer with fantastic editing skills and a down to earth personality. This is a fairly late review from our Feb. 2021 wedding but we constantly look back on our pictures and have gotten several printed. They are just amazing to look at over and over, every penny spent on Shawna is SO worth it, trust me. We had a pretty nightmarish wedding week (Winter Storm here in DFW Feb 15-20 week) and we were tossed hurdles we never predicted, on top of Covid. It was such a rough week but Shawna made sure to reach out to me multiple times that week, she promised me she would be there to capture our big day no matter what. It really made all the difference knowing I could trust we had at least one of our vendors (and a super important one at that) confirmed. We went from concerns over Covid, even for our micro-wedding (25 people total), to concerns over electricity, heating, and water for all our vendors and the ability to even leave our house due to such severe roadways. It was a WILD and STRESSFUL wedding week and it made Shawna's relaxing and quirky presence even more meaningful on Saturday. She did such incredible work you can't even tell we were ever anything but relaxed and in love in our pictures. She worked so well with my wedding planner and the intimate crowd of people we had gathered, it really made it simple to knock out the obligatory family pictures with plenty of time to spare for the fun and intimate couple photos we love the most. She comes SUPER prepared for ANYTHING day of (literally any emergency she came prepared for) and that also made me feel like I hired the right person because your photographer is so close to you throughout the day on such an important day he/she becomes your friend... but Shawna 100% is still fully aware it is a job to put her all into and she delivered. Definitely don't hesitate to hire her.

Shawna is hands down THE BEST! She is so talented, and the photos came out stunning. Not only did she do an incredible job - she is so easy to work with, and felt like a friend I had known forever - so easy going and fun. She worked with me on custom package that fit my budget too. She knew all the perfect spots/angles, and captured the day perfectly. I can’t thank her enough, and if you’re still looking for a photographer - stop your search. She’s your girl. I was stunned when I received the final gallery - they were gorgeous. Thank you Shawna for being so fun to work with and giving me beautiful photos to treasure forever.
