We chose the Hilton Garden Inn in Ybor to block hotel rooms for our wedding weekend solely because they were conveniently located next to our wedding venue. The hotel is very nice and newly renovated. The lobby and lounge is very classy and the rooms were clean and updated. The only huge issue we had with the hotel is their service. We called them and spoke to the Director of Sales 11 months prior to the wedding and booked 20 rooms. A couple months later, our own mother tried calling to reserve her room and they didn't have any history of our room block! I had to speak to another Director of Sales (because apparently the original person I spoke to left the company and somehow our room block was lost) and re-enter all of our information. This wasn't the only personnel change we experienced through the 11 months leading up to the wedding - there were literally 4 different Director of Sales in that short timeframe!! I had to speak to a different person almost every time I called, and I would have to keep making sure they had all the information.. most of the time they wouldn't and I would have to re-iterate every single detail to every person I spoke to. There are obviously communication issues amongst the staff. Our other mother called the hotel one month prior to the wedding and the front desk person acted as if they didn't have our room block at all - AGAIN. When we checked into the hotel the day before the wedding, I personally saw the front desk mess up our gift bags. They gave our wedding guests gift bags for the WRONG wedding. The hotel's saving grace at the front desk is Jason - he was very accommodating and very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was supposed to open at 7AM, which was a tight schedule for my as a bride, because I had to start getting ready on my wedding day. The breakfast didn't actually open until after 8AM, so I had to start my day without a breakfast. I would NOT recommend this hotel for blocking rooms. It is a nice hotel, but we
