I'm Ashley! I'm a Detroit Based Destination Wedding Photographer who creates timeless heirlooms from the love stories of elegant, fun-loving couples! I've got nearly 20 years in the wedding industry. Working first as a wedding planner & coordinator, then the last 10 years as a wedding photographer. I bring a VERY unique perspective to a wedding day, support you MORE than just a photographer & aim to be with you not just for the duration of your wedding, but to welcome you officially to the family as your own grows, changes and evolves in future years. I also own Smitten Mitten Photography which focuses on families. SO I really aim to be your forever photographer.

A bit about Heirloom and Lace couples.... they TRULY value the special moments with all of their people. My couples tend to have high end details, though not all of them. They include time for both partners getting ready photos (thought not all of them do this). About 95% of our couples do first looks where they exchange private vows and they do this to capture ALL the major photos of the day BEFORE the ceremony so that they can be at Cocktail hour + get the party started early.

To capture all the moments of the day we blend a mixture of direction over forced posing, which allows for a more relaxed laid back style of photos while also mixing in a more documentary style for the evening with candids & the couple with all of their people. This might be relaxed friend photos or just dance floor photos. Most importantly our couples TRULY believe in making their day their own! By mixing old & new traditions to create their own or kicking ALL the typical wedding traditions to the curb!
