The venue is unique and beautiful up in the Catskills. The staff was superb and made the weekend was incredible for the family and all the guests.

This is a review that is long overdue, but WOW did we have the absolute best wedding at Gilbertsville Farmhouse. My husband and I got married in May 2026, and it was the most incredible weekend. I spent 8 months searching for the perfect venue, and when I stumbled upon GFH, I knew it was the place. It's beautiful, fosters a real sense of community with your guests, and is the perfect backdrop for a wedding. I was also looking for a venue without a curfew so I could throw the after-party of my dreams, and GFH delivered.
On Friday, we kicked things off with a welcome party with food for all our guests, which flowed right into goat yoga, which was an absolute hit! Friday evening we had our rehearsal dinner in the Hayloft, and the green chairs were such a vibe. GFH also fed the rest of our on-site guests in the Milking Parlor at the same time, which was an amazing feat of coordination. After that, we had "Toasts, Talents, and Tales" in the courtyard, filled with stories, memories, and advice from our guests. We had the most gorgeous stage set up, adorned with florals (thanks, Faye & Co.!). The wedding day itself was seamless, Brandon and Katy used the golf carts to get us around the farm.
A special shoutout to Brandon! You are an integral part of the venue and of my wedding celebration. You were supportive, organized, and on top of everything. It's obvious that you're passionate about your work and about curating the perfect wedding for each of your couples.
Another huge shoutout to the chefs! The food was absolutely incredible. Things I'm still thinking about: the lobster fritter, the tres leches cake, the fried rice, the vodka rigatoni pasta, the chicken... and I could keep going. The chef was also extremely accommodating for guests with food allergies. Multiple guests with dietary restrictions went out of their way to tell me they'd never had such great food at an event; it was clear the chef wanted everyone to eat well.
And since there was no curfew, we made the most of it. I set up a tent in the glamping village, one of my friends DJ'ed, and we ended up watching the sunrise with many of our friends. It was the perfect ending to the perfect weekend. I sobbed as I left the venue on Sunday because I was so overjoyed!
Lastly, if you're thinking about getting married at GFH — DO IT. It will be the best weekend of your life.

I cannot believe the wedding weekend we just had was real. I feel emotionally attached to Gilbertsville Farmhouse and am really hoping one of my guests decides to get married there so I can go back and do it all over again.

I’ll start by sharing some quotes from our guests:

“I hope someday I forgive you for ruining weddings for me because I’m not sure I will ever have more fun at another one or maybe ever have more fun in general.”

From a guest who wasn’t even staying on site: “Loved your wedding it was by far the best of all the ones I’ve been to this year.”

And now, in my own words:

What a perfect, unique venue and team. We had very high expectations going into our wedding (I mean, the reviews are top notch) and somehow Gilbertsville Farmhouse exceeded them.

The property is absolutely stunning. I cried when we pulled up and saw the shimmering pond. How unique that that is the very first thing guests see when they arrive?! The landscaping is immaculate. My friends said they felt like they were on a movie set because it didn’t feel real how beautiful it was.

The guest services team went above and beyond. One telling example: my friend emailed Brandon her speech during her drive up to Gilbertsville Farmhouse. Five minutes after she arrived to her cabin, someone pulled up with her printed-out speech, without her even asking. The dinner felt like luxury — like when you go to a fancy restaurant and the service feels like a dance. My friends loved the electric bus and golf cart rides, too. Special shoutout to Caleb and Logan.

While the staff’s service was luxurious, the staff was also FUN. My friends kept commenting on how the entire vibe of the weekend was elevated by the fact that the Gilbertsville Farmhouse staff are down for a good time. When my friends brought two beer funnels onto the dance floor during the reception, the staff immediately brought over beers for them from the bar 😂 They let us bring a massive subwoofer into the after party lounge. We never felt like we had to be discrete about partying. The Gilbertsville staff encouraged us to have us much fun as possible.

The courtyard and reception barn. OMG. The indoor / outdoor vibe was AWESOME. Our older guests said they really appreciated how when they needed a break from dancing, they could wander outside into the beautiful courtyard, sit on swanky furniture, and order delicious drinks from the outdoor bar. It was vibey. The reception space also was unreal. I can’t believe how good it looked. It was the reception and dance party of our dreams.

The food all weekend was DELICIOUS. It’s not wedding food, it is fresh, farm-to-table food. It tasted even better than it did at our tasting. The Friday lunch was unbelievable. Dinner both nights was fabulous. An unexpected highlight for our guests were the biscuits / cornbread and fresh homemade jams at breakfast. It was also really sweet how Gilbertsville had reserved plates for guests with dietary restrictions to make sure they got enough to eat. Our gluten-free and vegan guests really appreciated that.

The animals were a huge hit. I never considered myself a farm girl, but I do now. Being able to play with animals and pet Duke made for a unique, unforgettable experience. The animals provided entertainment, giving guests something to do if they needed a break from chit chatting / dancing. And they were all so stinking cute. I was so happy they were there.

I also want to call out that Sharon and Victoria worked with us to come up with a rain plain we felt good about, going out of their way to accommodate our wishes and ease our anxiety about the weather going into the weekend. If you have any concerns, speak up, because Sharon and Victoria will do what it takes to make sure you are calm and happy

The team at Gilbertsville are absolute pro’s. I always feel so comfortable, supported and at ease when creating florals at their venue. I feel like they treat me as a part of their team. Not only are they always extremely prepared, set up early, and moving with ease on the day of the event; they are also incredibly accommodating and genuinely kind. I always look forward to my time at G-ville. Their professionalism and consistency is something we can all aspire to within this bustling industry.

As a bridal hair and makeup artist, I’ve worked at a lot of venues, and this one truly stands out. From the moment we arrived, everything was so seamless and accommodating for both the bridal party and vendors. The getting-ready space was absolutely perfect for a large bridal party — spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed so everyone could relax and enjoy the morning without feeling crowded.

One thing I especially appreciated as a hair and makeup artist was the abundance of large windows and natural light throughout the space. It made such a difference for makeup application, hairstyling, and photos, and created such a beautiful atmosphere to work in.

A huge shoutout to Brandon, the event director, who was incredible to work with. He was extremely responsive throughout the day, easy to communicate with, and went above and beyond to make sure our team had enough table space and everything we needed to work efficiently. Having a coordinator who genuinely supports the vendors makes such a difference, and Brandon absolutely did that.

Working here was such a positive experience from start to finish, and I truly look forward to being back. I would absolutely recommend this venue to any future brides looking for a beautiful, organized, and vendor-friendly place to spend their wedding day!

- Onsite: It was so great to have a place that was 100% dedicated to our wedding and our guests. Our goal for the weekend was to maximize spending time together and Gilbertsville was the perfect venue for that! The check-in process for all of our onsite guests was easy and everyone raved about their rooms (both the cabins and the house). It was so enjoyable to have everyone arrive early on Friday to have informal time to say hello and explore the property. We can’t tell you how many of our friends told us how fun it was to sleep onsite with all of the other guests, including the nightcap bonfires on Fri and Sat nights. Also the homemade focaccia for lunch on Friday is worth its own shoutout!
- Rehearsal Dinner: We had our rehearsal dinner outside behind the barn which was such a beautiful location. We had the BBQ dinner which everyone loved (we’re still dreaming about the ribs). It was the perfect balance of everyone walking around saying hello but also having tables to sit and eat. Gilbertsville also allowed us to have live music play at the rehearsal dinner.
- Ceremony: Our ceremony was on the hilltop and the view was spectacular. Everyone said just having the ceremony in that setting made them understand why we wanted to have our wedding in Western NY. Brandon and the team made the logistics of the ceremony very smooth.
- Cocktail Hour: We had our cocktail hour in the Milking Parlour. Everyone enjoyed the unique setting and the hors d'voures and charcuterie board were great. The team also helped us set up a beautiful memory table for our lost loved ones. Our seating chart also came in the mail broken - Brandon and the team somehow figured out a way to make it look perfect using other props! (one of many examples of their attention to detail)
- Reception: The renovated barn was such a perfect place to have our party. We picked the long tables, which looked gorgeous and allowed us to have a large dancefloor. Everyone loved the family style dinner, which allowed everyone to try everything! We picked the salmon and chicken for main entrees. We also really enjoyed being able to have both inside and outside areas for people to party. We had forgotten a few namecards and Brandon was able to print them out on cardstock for us (every potential headache was mitigated by Brandon).
- Gilbertsville Team: Brandon is an absolute rockstar and made the planning process and wedding weekend incredibly smooth. Every person on the team was helpful - it’s worth also shouting out Katie who went above and beyond to take care of us and our guests. Thank you to Sharon and the entire team!
