C. Barton McCann School of Art sets the standard for elegance among nature. Situated on 250 acres of lush green forest, wild flowers, ferns, annuals, and perennials, it is the ideal setting for the wedding of your dreams. Babbling brooks, streams and ponds offer unsurpassed serenity and beauty. Both outdoor and indoor spaces are available for ceremonies, receptions, retreats and parties of all types. Lodging is also available on-site.
Founded in 2006 by David and Sandy Corneal, The McCann School of Art was created in loving memory of Mr. Corneal's grandfather, Charles Barton McCann. Mr. McCann was an art teacher who had a passion for teaching art in nature to youth. Our event venue helps to fund scholarships for our students and to allow this artistic passion to continue with future generations.
Modern facilities were created to blend perfectly with nature as well as, provide all the creature comforts needed for a comfortable celebration.
Our helpful staff looks forward to assisting you and your guests every step of the way. From the planning phase, to helping your guests park their cars upon arrival, to seeing that the ceremony, reception and clean up go smoothly, we will be there. We want your guests to be comfortable and relaxed, and most of all, we want you to enjoy your day.
We at Fern Hill Weddings will strive to make your wedding or gathering a unique, memorable experience. One that you and your guests will talk about for years to come.

Fairytale, Woodland Wedding
Fern Hill was a fairytale. The setting inspired the most beautiful, dreamlike wedding my wife and I could have ever hoped for. Sue and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that our guests (all 275 of them) were well accommodated and cared for. We cannot speak highly enough in regards to their professionalism and character. Similarly, the venue itself was spectacular. All of the buildings, from the charming cabin by the pond to the main cabin and beyond were simply amazing. It goes without saying, we highly recommend this location to anyone that is looking for a wedding set against a gorgeous, woodland backdrop. Two thumbs WAY up!Sent on 12/17/2018

Congratulations if you are reading this review because it probably means you, or someone dear to you recently got engaged and are beginning to plan your wedding. If so, may I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Fern Hill Weddings for the ideal wedding and reception venue.Sent on 05/11/2018
Fern Hill is located close to State College, (we hired school buses to transport guests the half hour drive), yet it is secluded.
My first impression when I met Sue for a tour was that my daughter had found an enchanted wonderland for her wedding reception. The ferns, trees, flowers and other abundant flora elevated everyone's spirits and were a calm, relaxing force. The sculptures, gazebo, lake, honeymoon cottage, pavllion and art studio were beautiful. Minimal, if any decorations are needed because you are surrounded with the best nature can provide.
A thunderstorm went through the area an hour before the outdoor ceremony. Immediately after the rain stopped, Sue's team was carefully drying off every single chair. There were many, many details like this that made the wedding and reception a much loved success.
The kitchen was well appointed and the caterer told me how much they enjoy working functions at Fern Hill. (When my daughter married in August, 2016 it was called McCann School of Art. I adore the new name, it fits.) Sue and her team have done this dozens and dozens of times, so even though you may be nervous about planning your reception, please accept Sue's suggestions, or at least strongly consider them. Every single bit of guidance Sue provided was spot on.
My words cannot give an accurate portrayal of just how spectacular Fern Hill Weddings is for a perfect wedding and reception venue. You honestly need to experience it for yourself. Plan a visit and tour with Sue. Take in the serenity, warmth, love and overall enchantment. Decide for yourself. All I can say is this mother-of-the-bride couldn't have been more pleased with my only daughter's choice of venue.

Fern Hill weddings at C Barton McCann School of Art are even more beautiful than these photos suggest. As a wedding officiant I have been to amazing venues and worked with wonderful staff but I have to admit that officiating at McCann School of Art is my favorite. The Fern Hill staff is always on the ball and has all the details handled so that the rehearsing and the ceremony go smoothly for us all. They are friendly and genuinely kind. Your day will be blessed and magical at this venue!
Fern Hill Weddings is a beautiful venue nestled into the woods of Pennsylvania. They offer all sorts of beautiful areas to get married and for breath taking pictures in their Circle of Life Sculpture Garden, Lake Jeanette Gazebo and the Hemlock Cottage on the lake. Guests have the amazing opportunity to visit the Corneal Art Gallery during cocktail hour. Their indoor/outdoor facilities for ceremony and receptions are spacious and very accommodating. Sue and her staff are wonderful to work with and don't miss a single detail. The Corneal's didn't spare any expense in creating a venue that blends naturally in with the surrounding lush green forest, wild flowers, ferns, annuals, and perennials for creating beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
