I purchased my dress off-rack from Eugenia's at an amazing price - about a year before my wedding. They recommended I come back about 4-6 months before for alterations, which I did. The only alterations needed were to reduce the bust size and arrange the bustling accordingly. The dress, in the end, was magnificent - truly. However, I ended-up going back three times...after the first time, I was told to come back for a "final" fitting, and the dress would be done. It wasn't - cuts had been made, and basically safety-pinned together. The next time I was to come with the person I was going to have do my bustling the day of the wedding, so they could learn where everything was. So, I had my sister come from two hours away for the appointment. We arrived for the appointment, and had to wait about 45 minutes because my dress was being worked on...but still was not done when we actually had the chance to put it on....so, again I was to come back with my sister for the second "final" fitting, which was a week before my wedding. Again we followed directions, and while my sister was halfway to my house, I received a call saying that nothing had been done on my dress...you can probably guess that at that point, I was freaking out. After a few frantic phone calls, I received a call back from the dress shop saying - oops - it was in fact done...they had just thought it was not done...
God love the woman who was doing the alterations - she was so sweet!...although, a bit flustered it seemed, given the above confusion. I must say though, that everyone at the shop is extremely sweet, and Eugenia is VERY VERY knowledgable and very talented. And, even with the craziness, Marta is awesome, too!!! : )
