With Hawaii being the number one wedding spot, there were lots of photographers to choose from but I knew the moment I saw their photography style that Dulce was the one. When i spoke to Ryan (the owner) and then Johnny (our designated photographer, I was sure that they would help make my day perfect! Their ability to understand what is important to capture on your wedding day is unsurpassed. Their help and advice in locations for off site pictures made our wedding pictures just wonderful and amazing and I'm so happy I listened to their advice.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with working with Johnny during our wedding. Johnny and his Mitch make you feel extremely comfortable and just go with the flow. They were patient (especially with the children) and did not make anyone awkward or rushed. They have amazing vision which are seen in all our pictures. We highly recommend them!

Working with Dulce was a really awesome experience. They were my best vendor and made the whole experience and process easy. I gave a 5 Star rating down the line because they truly deserve it and gave us that level of service. I never once felt like I was one of many inquiries or clients. I submitted my inquiry to Dulce the day after the wedding expo and received a call that same day to set up an appointment. My photographers were Johnny Phayakoun and Mitch Berry and they were the BEST! Johnny has incredible follow through. I never had to call him because he called me first to set-up and confirm appointments and to make sure I received files, etc. He is reliable and prompt to shoots and both are a fun team to work with. It was nice to know that they had our best interests in mind and care about the quality of their work. During our engagement photo shoot it was a little overcast so they shot what they could and recommended to do another day when the sun came out. Johnny also made sure our photos were done in more than enough time. They are true professionals and one of the top in the wedding industry. I didn't have to over explain or provide too much detail to them. They just know what to do. Their love for photography shows in their work. My husband and I made the wise decision to hire Dulce to photograph our September 2011 wedding, and we had the most wonderful experience working with them! They are AMAZING!! Dulce exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The photos brought tears (of joy!) to my eyes when I first viewed them. I still love to browse through the photos because they are so stunning. I was blown away by the fact that Dulce captured EVERY special moment of the day. Having Dulce photograph our wedding made our big day a wonderful, memorable experience! We actually had to plan our wedding at the last minute about a month before and were struggling to find the photographer we like because we really wanted a good one who is friendly, great personality and professional. After making multiple calls to some photographers and having no return calls, Dulce was one of the few photographers who got back to me immediately. Having no time, we also had a very limited budget and wanted to take some engagement photos as well (I know we’re asking too much already!), but to my surprise, Dulce was able to adapt and provide us with several options! When we entered their office, our impressions of it were stylish, organized and professional. After going through their stunning photo albums and talking to the photographer Johnny, we instantly liked him and didn’t need time to think to decided on them because he listened carefully to our needs and situation and gave us a great, reasonable option!

We had our engagement photo shoot at Lanikai Beach and were impressed by their hard work. They are punctual, professional and truly love what they do. When they found a good moment or spot for the photo shoot, they would want to keep shooting us even if it was a little over the hour. They were constantly checking on how the sunlight turns out and the wind can make a difference in the photo. Most importantly, they made us feel very comfortable being photographed and made it a lot of fun for us which made great photos.

Also, our big day turned out to be such a wonderful one thanks to Johnny and Mitch who were our photographers on that day. I really liked the idea of having two photographers because they could take the same photo from different angles and moments that created many good photos. Johnny helped me to calm down before the wedding when the bride side’s family was being late saying it can’t start without a bride and made me laugh. Even with time pressure, Johnny was very fun, calm, and very professional taking all the photos I wanted for my day exactly according to the plan. He made sure to take all the photos by the hotel stairs, with bride and groom family, the ring in the bouquet and by the ocean, including other particular requests. Any of these can be very easily forgotten in the busy, overwhelming situation but he never did and that’s how professional he is. To me, he is truly in love with what he does and has never compromises to pursue beauty and happiness in his wedding photos. It was all his “passion” for what he does which drove him to be such a great, caring photographer. His passion still continued even after the big day and created such a beautiful slide show of our wedding with our favorite music that came along with the photo disc in a cute Dulce bag! (I love their cute logo.) I can’t wait to show it to my family who is in Japan at another reception we’re going to have on their side. Other staff at Dulce (Mike and Patty) was also very kind and helpful when I was struggling trying to make our wedding photo album by our own.

As a reader seeing a 5.0 would lead some to be skeptical, as I would be too. As the groom, one would also think that all I cared about was the cost which you are partly correct. Dulce definitely is a great value (do some shopping before you settle on any vendor.) because of the service they provide.......hence the other criteria items and it's high scores. My wife and got met our photographer, Johnny P. during the first meeting.
He introduced us to their artistic style (every company is different), philosophy, and packages. Dulce and their knowledgable staff will guide you though the process and you will tell them what you envision on wedding day. Our photographer, Johnny P. has done many (i mean tons) of projects here and abroad and knows what details are involved in making your vision a photographic reality.
Once you've informed them of your details there might not be much to keep tabs on until the few days right before the wedding. At that point, it's to review those details. Johnny P. met us at the hotel to do pre-ceremony shots. (Simple backgrounds to me turned out to make stunning images) We all then went to Lanikuhonua for the ceremony.
Our wedding was on the leeward side and the summer sunset was unexpectedly amazing on wedding day. We had a beach side wedding. Johnny and my wife knew the colors would make stunning shots and this is my only regret........my opu (Hawaiian for stomach) was growling with hunger pangs already and the food was the only thing on my mind. But that's another review.
Dulce is professional in it's customer service, quality of pictures, and has been in the business long enough to have encountered and solved many wedding difficulties.
