My husband and I were extremely pleased with working with Johnny during our wedding. Johnny and his Mitch make you feel extremely comfortable and just go with the flow. They were patient (especially with the children) and did not make anyone awkward or rushed. They have amazing vision which are seen in all our pictures. We highly recommend them!

Dulce photographers were excellent. I could not be more happy with the pictures from my wedding. They were very easy to work with and offered great suggestions for where we should take our pictures and how our timeline should look. I would recommend them to all my friends.

Johnny and his assistant were professional and easy to work with. He was also very informative on each step we would take from the initial contact to the day of the wedding...so I knew what to expect.The photos came out beautiful!!! My husband and I couldn't be any happier. Thank you! : )

One word.....AMAZING! My husband and I are so happy with the wedding photos that we always look at the pictures and rave about how wonderful Johnny and Mitch were.

With Hawaii being the number one wedding spot, there were lots of photographers to choose from but I knew the moment I saw their photography style that Dulce was the one. When i spoke to Ryan (the owner) and then Johnny (our designated photographer, I was sure that they would help make my day perfect! Their ability to understand what is important to capture on your wedding day is unsurpassed. Their help and advice in locations for off site pictures made our wedding pictures just wonderful and amazing and I'm so happy I listened to their advice.

They were the sweetest guys that were professional, helpful, caring and very talented. I would recommend Dulce to anyone! Thank you Dulce for allowing my husband and I to relive our special day through your photos!

Working with Dulce was a really awesome experience. They were my best vendor and made the whole experience and process easy. I gave a 5 Star rating down the line because they truly deserve it and gave us that level of service. I never once felt like I was one of many inquiries or clients. I submitted my inquiry to Dulce the day after the wedding expo and received a call that same day to set up an appointment. My photographers were Johnny Phayakoun and Mitch Berry and they were the BEST! Johnny has incredible follow through. I never had to call him because he called me first to set-up and confirm appointments and to make sure I received files, etc. He is reliable and prompt to shoots and both are a fun team to work with. It was nice to know that they had our best interests in mind and care about the quality of their work. During our engagement photo shoot it was a little overcast so they shot what they could and recommended to do another day when the sun came out. Johnny also made sure our photos were done in more than enough time. They are true professionals and one of the top in the wedding industry. I didn't have to over explain or provide too much detail to them. They just know what to do. Their love for photography shows in their work. Our wedding photos came out beautiful and was everything we wanted to remember our day! Thank you Johnny and Mitch!

My husband and I made the wise decision to hire Dulce to photograph our September 2011 wedding, and we had the most wonderful experience working with them! They are AMAZING!! Dulce exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The photos brought tears (of joy!) to my eyes when I first viewed them. I still love to browse through the photos because they are so stunning. I was blown away by the fact that Dulce captured EVERY special moment of the day. What was even more amazing was that they captured all of those intimate moments without being the least bit intrusive.

We were fortunate enough to have Johnny and Mitch as our photographers; both are remarkably talented and a joy to work with. I am still in awe of the way they captured our individual personalities in each and every photo. They were professional, patient, and organized, all the while making us feel relaxed and at ease amid the chaos of the wedding day. I am so glad we chose Dulce to capture our special day because they not only made the wedding day enjoyable, they left us with gorgeous yet natural-looking photos that we will cherish for a lifetime! Having Dulce photograph our wedding made our big day a wonderful, memorable experience! We actually had to plan our wedding at the last minute about a month before and were struggling to find the photographer we like because we really wanted a good one who is friendly, great personality and professional. After making multiple calls to some photographers and having no return calls, Dulce was one of the few photographers who got back to me immediately. Having no time, we also had a very limited budget and wanted to take some engagement photos as well (I know we’re asking too much already!), but to my surprise, Dulce was able to adapt and provide us with several options! When we entered their office, our impressions of it were stylish, organized and professional. After going through their stunning photo albums and talking to the photographer Johnny, we instantly liked him and didn’t need time to think to decided on them because he listened carefully to our needs and situation and gave us a great, reasonable option!

We had our engagement photo shoot at Lanikai Beach and were impressed by their hard work. They are punctual, professional and truly love what they do. When they found a good moment or spot for the photo shoot, they would want to keep shooting us even if it was a little over the hour. They were constantly checking on how the sunlight turns out and the wind can make a difference in the photo. Most importantly, they made us feel very comfortable being photographed and made it a lot of fun for us which made great photos.

Also, our big day turned out to be such a wonderful one thanks to Johnny and Mitch who were our photographers on that day. I really liked the idea of having two photographers because they could take the same photo from different angles and moments that created many good photos. Johnny helped me to calm down before the wedding when the bride side’s family was being late saying it can’t start without a bride and made me laugh. Even with time pressure, Johnny was very fun, calm, and very professional taking all the photos I wanted for my day exactly according to the plan. He made sure to take all the photos by the hotel stairs, with bride and groom family, the ring in the bouquet and by the ocean, including other particular requests. Any of these can be very easily forgotten in the busy, overwhelming situation but he never did and that’s how professional he is. To me, he is truly in love with what he does and has never compromises to pursue beauty and happiness in his wedding photos. It was all his “passion” for what he does which drove him to be such a great, caring photographer. His passion still continued even after the big day and created such a beautiful slide show of our wedding with our favorite music that came along with the photo disc in a cute Dulce bag! (I love their cute logo.) I can’t wait to show it to my family who is in Japan at another reception we’re going to have on their side. Other staff at Dulce (Mike and Patty) was also very kind and helpful when I was struggling trying to make our wedding photo album by our own.

Truly, it was really amazing, great experience working with Johnny and everyone at Dulce and cannot thank them enough because they made my day a very special one which I’ll remember every time I look at those beautiful photos. Thank you very much for your hard work and passion, Johnny!

As a reader seeing a 5.0 would lead some to be skeptical, as I would be too. As the groom, one would also think that all I cared about was the cost which you are partly correct. Dulce definitely is a great value (do some shopping before you settle on any vendor.) because of the service they provide.......hence the other criteria items and it's high scores. My wife and got met our photographer, Johnny P. during the first meeting.
He introduced us to their artistic style (every company is different), philosophy, and packages. Dulce and their knowledgable staff will guide you though the process and you will tell them what you envision on wedding day. Our photographer, Johnny P. has done many (i mean tons) of projects here and abroad and knows what details are involved in making your vision a photographic reality.
Once you've informed them of your details there might not be much to keep tabs on until the few days right before the wedding. At that point, it's to review those details. Johnny P. met us at the hotel to do pre-ceremony shots. (Simple backgrounds to me turned out to make stunning images) We all then went to Lanikuhonua for the ceremony.
Our wedding was on the leeward side and the summer sunset was unexpectedly amazing on wedding day. We had a beach side wedding. Johnny and my wife knew the colors would make stunning shots and this is my only regret........my opu (Hawaiian for stomach) was growling with hunger pangs already and the food was the only thing on my mind. But that's another review.
Dulce is professional in it's customer service, quality of pictures, and has been in the business long enough to have encountered and solved many wedding difficulties.
I hope this helps any reader because I know there's a lot of stress. I worked on the wedding plans with my wife on every step of the way and Dulce definitely made it easier for us.

Dulce Photography is an amazing team of photographers to work with! From the very beginning, Ryan and Johnny were very friendly, personable and helpful. Even with their VERY busy schedule, Ryan and Johnny were there to answer any questions and they were both very prompt on returning phone calls or emails. On the day of our wedding, Johnny and his team showed up early and started the day earlier than planned. The Dulce team really went above and beyond making sure they helped us get through the day, and even making sure that everything was taken care of, so that we wouldn’t stress over the little things. Johnny and his team as amazing talent for photography and they know how to capture every moment of your special day in an unbelievable way! Our wedding pictures have exceed all of our expectations, and I am so thankful for Johnny and the rest of the Dulce photography team!

Dulce photographers were very fun, friendly, flexible, and professional all at once ! After researching several photograph companies online and meeting in person we decided to go with Dulce because of their very prompt response, flexible schedule, fun & friendly photographers, and very stylish, modern, & professional office and workspace. We were equally impressed with their website – dulcephoto.com. The website was easy to navigate and inviting. My wife and I found ourselves returning to the website several times just to browse their photo collection and check out what else they had to offer.
After our experience we recommended Dulce to photograph our friend’s maternity and they did an equally impressive and excellent job. Our friend was very happy not only with the photographs, but with the photographers themselves.
We definitely recommend Dulce to photograph not just your wedding, but also engagement photo shoot or any other event you want to remember forever!

We L-O-V-E dulce. Johnny and his crew were so awesome and professional, and our photos turned out great. The only problem we've encountered so far is choosing which pictures we want to frame.

With so many wedding photographers out there, it can be overwhelming trying to find the right one. After researching tons of websites and looking through piles of brochures, we finally narrowed it down to our top choices. Dulce was the first (and only) photography company we met with and after meeting with Johnny, we booked him within the next couple of days. It was probably the easiest and fastest booking my husband and I made during our planning process and we couldn't be happier with our decision.

We loved Dulce's cute contemporary style and immediately felt comfortable with them from the beginning. We also loved their fresh photojournalistic style so we knew that they would be able to capture the look and feel that we wanted for our wedding photos. They definitely didn't disappoint. Although we only hired Dulce for our wedding, we highly recommend this company for any event whether it's for an engagement session, family portraits, or trash the dress. dulce photo and johnny were the absolute best! They really care about making your day special. These people really love their job and it shows! They came early to set up to take our prep photos. My whole family enjoyed their professionalism. They will walk you through the site and tell you where they think pictures should be taken. They really know Hawaii well and what will look good in a picture. They direct you how to pose to capture really great shots.

Johnny and his team really go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your pictures. At the end of the night, I changed into a traditional Chinese dress for the cake cutting ceremony, and even though our time was nearly up, they said later to capture more shots of us with my different outfit on.

Johnny was really nice to work with, I felt like I was working with a friend who just happens to know how to take really amazing photos. You feel really comfortable with him right away! Trust me, the day goes by in a blur, so capturing those special moments are well worth it.

Dulce gets 5 out of 5 stars and two thumbs up from my husband and I. We're so glad we booked them for our February 2011 wedding. FYI, we booked them in a year advance....they get booked fast...obviously because they're awesome :)

I met Johnny at a wedding photography workshop and what did it for me was their quality of work and capturing every moment and emotion you can possibly think of on your wedding day. Our husband and I had a budget to work on and Dulce provides various different packages so you will definitely find one that will fit your wallet and needs.

From day one of the consultation, Dulce made us feel really comfortable and ask what we needed out of a photographer and what we were looking for in a photographer. What we ask is what they gave us at the wedding and even more. Johnny and Aaron worked with us for an 8 hour package and took remarkable pictures. They will do anything to get a beautiful photo of you, even if it's laying on the ground, going in the sand, dirt or water. They are very professional but have such a friendly way of doing it, you feel like you known them for awhile.

The turnaround for the photos were fast, I wasn't expecting to see the photos so soon. The pictures are of high quality and my family and friends loved them. I also like how they hosted the photos on pictage so my family and friends all around the world was able to see them and also purchase any photo they wanted.

All in all I'm very satisfied, happy and grateful, Dulce, especially Johnny and Aaron was able to share our special day with us. They captured it and now we will have the memories for a lifetime. Mahalo Dulce!!!

Choosing Dulce to capture all the special moments at our wedding was the best decision we made. Johnny & Mike did a wonderful job of capturing all the precious moments that we had missed. As a bride you worry about so many things, wanting the biggest day of your life be the most perfect day of your life. After seeing the amazing shots they had taken during our engagement session, I knew they could be trusted to do a wonderful job on our wedding and it became one less thing for me to worry about. The day of our wedding they showed up at our hotel on time & ready to work. They made everyone feel comfortable while making sure they weren't intrusive. All throughout the day they weren't just our photographers, they were at some points our sanity. I have nothing but good things to say about Dulce. I would definitely recommend them to any couple planning on getting married. I guarantee they will have an awesome experience!

When my husband and I got married, we really took the time to view different photography websites and was very impressed with Dulce. I was glad that we chose them because they were very professional, affordable, and efficient. We personally worked with Johnny and Mike and they were so patient and willing to listen to our concerns on our wedding day. Most importantly, all of the pictures they took for our wedding reflected every feeling and emotion that was felt that day. In addition to all of their assets, Mike and Johnny were so fun and cool to hang out with. I highly recommend them for any wedding occasion as they truly are dedicated and passionate about photography!

We were very happy with Ryan from Dulce photo. We chose the package that was 5-6 hours, and he was there for the full six hours if not a little more. In addition, he brought a third photographer that also was shooting pictures, at no extra cost to us. He made sure that all of the pictures we asked for on our "must shoot" list were taken as a first priority, and made sure that all of the pictures we wanted were taken before leaving at the end of the night. We haven't received the proofs yet, but my cousin also used Ryan and his pictures were beautiful, so we know that we will love the pictures when they come out.

Johnny from Dulce was a blast to work with. And ideas we had for extra photos were accepted and used easily (we were joking about taking pictures of myself and my wife sitting on a riding lawn mower parked behind the church and he turned it into a Vogue shoot). When waiting for others to be photographed, he and his assistant were easy to talk to and pretty fun to just chat with.
