When we were searching for a DJ for our wedding, we always knew we wanted the sax component. Being that our wedding was in Irvington, VA (between Richmond and VA Beach) this wasn’t an easy find given that not all DJ’s are partnering directly with saxophonists or live musicians in general, especially in proximity of our venue. It took some Googling around which is how we came across District Fusion!!! We reached out and Jon was so quick to respond to set up an intro call. Jon took the time to explain to us how he partners with a saxophonist on the team, Liam, to bring the DJ and Sax together in a seamless way. This was also a huge factor for us ensuring that we worked with a DJ and saxophonist who are within the same group, not a DJ and saxophonist from separate companies. We knew as soon as we ended the call that we had to go with District Fusion! We worked directly with Jon throughout the entire process and his responsiveness was so appreciated leading up to the big day. District Fusion wasn’t local to our venue but the extra cost for travel/hoteling was very reasonable. We were able to request for Liam to learn 3 new songs to play on the sax, outside of the songs he already knew. Jon sent over a questionnaire a few months in advance to wedding day for us to share genres, specific song requests, “do not play” lists, etc. and he stuck to what we spoke through - it’s always scary when DJ’s go rogue and we’re so thankful Jon didn’t! Jon and Liam had everyone on the dance floor the entire night and Jon knew how to read the room if a song needed to change, etc. People have not stopped talking about how great the dance floor was and how amazing Liam was and we’re so happy that our music team could make that happen!!! We’ve already had friends and family asking for their information for their next event 😉

We also used District Fusion for the ceremony music and mic set up which was also perfect. Liam played the entire cocktail hour with beautiful background sax playing.

OH! AND Jon brought the lighting set up which included uplighting for our reception tent that we were able to choose the color for which made it even more beautiful!

We love Jon and Liam and District Fusion!!! 10/10 cannot recommend them enough!!!!

We loved working with Jon for our wedding at Union Mills! He did prelude, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music and everything went off without a hitch. First of all, the music sounded amazing inside and outside. He allowed us to be particular on when we started and stopped music for our ceremony which we appreciated. And most of all, he kicked off the party!! Our guests ranged in ages widely and he had everyone on the dance floor!! His transitions were seamless and his music choices fit our eclectic group perfectly. We never left the dance floor thanks to Jon!!

Jon absolutely crushed it for Kali and my wedding on 2/14/26. Everyone complimented us all night — and days later — about how awesome his set was. Jon also facilitated the sound for our vows, officiants, and ran a game of couples’ trivia during dinner. He was extremely kind and professional throughout, and very easy to work with leading up to the event. If you’re looking for an awesome DJ in the DC area, Jon and District DJ will knock it out of the park for you.

To echo all the other reviews, District DJ is amazing, and I highly recommend using this company for your wedding! I remember seeing on Reddit at the start of looking for DJs during the wedding planning process that if you wanted to not worry about this part of our wedding, just book District DJ, and I am glad to confirm that that is 100% accurate. Leading up to the wedding, Jon had an easy-to-use website to fill out forms with details for the ceremony, cocktail, and reception. He meets with you leading up to the wedding to run through everything and ask any questions before the big day. We also used District DJ's photo booth, and it was a huge hit. He modified the printed photos to include our names, wedding date, and wedding logo, and he also helped manage playing a wedding video that my dad had made. Everything audio-visual wise went perfectly for our wedding, and there were no technical issues the entire day. Additionally, when it came time for dancing, our dance floor was popping. There were people dancing the entire time our dance floor was open, and I can tell you I've been to weddings when that is not the case. So many people came up to us afterwards and said our DJ was awesome, the music and mixing was done really well, and it was the most fun wedding they had ever attended. I actually told Jon midway during my wedding that he should never quit his job because he's really good at it, and my husband and I ended up venmo-ing an extra tip on top of what we had already allocated because we were so impressed. Literally book District DJ if you want to have a great time at your wedding!

Highly recommend working with Adam Halliday at District DJ for wedding bookings. We had multiple guests specifically mention how great the music was and how much fun our dance floor was - thanks to Adam. We actually happened to find Adam via attending another wedding that was absolutely a blast and i'm so happy to say that he recreated the magic again at our wedding. All audio aspects of the ceremony and wedding was flawless. Adam was on time, professional, and needed little guidance - something that is a blessing in the chaos of wedding planning. Choosing Jon and District DJs was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! In addition to his incredible talent as a DJ, the whole experience working with Jon exceeded our expectations. From our very first phone call, Jon understood our vision for the kind of music and vibe we wanted for the evening and curated the perfect playlist for us. The communication leading up to the day was also excellent and we knew exactly what to expect on our wedding day. We loved that District DJs provides photo booth and uplighting services, so we were able to cut down on the number of vendors we had to coordinate with. Jon took care of everything for us and the day was absolutely seamless.

One thing that truly sets Jon apart from other wedding DJs we've seen was his technical skill. He used unique and fun music transitions all night, blending tracks together instead of just letting one song cut to the next. The song choice was incredible, and kept the dance floor packed and the energy high all night. Since the wedding, one of the biggest compliments we've received from guests is how good the music was. Jon made the party an absolute success, and we highly recommend him and District DJs to any couple looking for a top-tier wedding entertainment experience!

Jonathan with District DJs is the BEST DJ. He was great at communicating up to our wedding, mixed music live the entire time, showed up with a cheerful attitude, dressed professionally in a button up and vest, and is so well spoken! He is the total package. Even his setup was beautiful with lighting that pulsed to the music and an awesome DJ booth with a backlit photo of us and our names.

He kept the dance floor going all night, read the crowd and adjusted accordingly quickly, and made our wedding a total blast. Jonathan also was flexible enough to add an hour on when our friend generously asked to extend by an hour, despite having an event far away the next day.

Side note - you get what you pay for. Jonathan was almost twice the amount of another DJ we spoke to prior to him, but after one convo on the phone, we hired him on the spot. We found him because a friend went to a wedding he DJ’d and said it was one of the best they’d been to. Jonathan delivered in every aspect.

Jon with District DJ was the perfect fit for us. He has so much experience and made the process so easy for us. His online portal allowed us to customize our playlist and streamlined the process. When we asked him about playing a slideshow during our parent dances, he didn't bat an eye. They were the perfect surprise and made the father daughter and mother son dances so special. My dad's reaction was priceless! He knew how to read the room for each song to play, and our dance floor was crowded all night! He also has an awesome announcement voice!! :) Thank you so much, Jon, for making our special day complimented with the perfect music!

Jon was so crucial in creating the vibe for our day. From start to finish we wanted to be sure that the music and setting was reflective of us and he absolutely nailed it. He helped go through every cue and detail required and then smashed it on the free play to understand the room and the crowd to ensure everyone had a great time. In my opinion, the mark of a great DJ is that you barely know they are there. The flow is so easy and his MC'ing is just a seamless part of the evening and that's what Jon was for us. The lighting, music, acoustics, cues, etc were all perfect for us and he was able to pivot when we needed more time here or wanted to wrap things up there. Jon was fantastic!

We hired Jon for our wedding in April 2025 and would highly recommend him for anyone who's looking for a fun and professional DJ! From the start, Jon was very personable and easy to work with. He wanted to learn about our music taste and make recommendations to make sure all the songs were suitable for the different phases of the event. He was even willing to listen and incorporate Turkish music, and he did an amazing job! Not only did he made sure to ask about which songs we absolutely wanted to hear but also which music we didn't want to hear (for guest requests).
His setup is the best one I've ever seen and the DJ booth had a fully customizable screen in front of it. He allowed us to display an animated sign which vibed perfectly with the great music.
We had an unorthodox request to perform a DJ set at our own wedding with a couple songs to surprise our guests. Jon was all in and was genuinely excited for this from the get go. He helped us craft a set exactly the way we wanted and the set was an absolute hit among our guests!
From the announcements to the song transitions he did an excellent job and all of our guests kept coming over to us and saying how Jon was the best DJ they've ever heard at a wedding. Throughout the night he kept a pulse on the energy levels of the crowd and kept everyone dancing all night!
