Dan McGuire Group was awesome! We hired Maura Tull and Tom Starr to do our ceremony and cocktail hour music and they were incredible! From start to finish, they were easy to work with, super flexible, professional, and very talented. Highly recommend!

When we got engaged 2 years ago, booking Dan and his team was a no brainer. From the very first meeting, up to our special day, Dan and his team were professional, kind and flexible. Dan played pre-ceremony and cocktail hour and absolutely killed it. Dan and the band kept the dance floor going all night for the reception and Mark (DJ) listened to our every request and delivered smooth transitions and bangers on the dance floor. Even three months later, friends and family are still raving about how this was one of the best wedding bands they’ve ever seen. The dance floor was packed all night—no one stopped dancing! One of the best parts of the package was having a DJ step in during the band’s break, which let us mix in some custom songs and remixes. Truly unforgettable day!

We cannot say enough good things about Dan McGuire Group! Our guests are STILL talking about how great they were, and about how they played songs you don’t always hear at weddings, but still songs everyone could dance and sing to, which is exactly what we wanted. They kept everyone on the dance floor all night, and we had so much fun! The entire process leading up to the wedding was also SO easy, and they seamlessly learned 3 new songs for us that weren’t on their list (and wouldn’t be surprised if they now added them to the list because they were such a big hit!). My family is VERY much into live music. We spend our weekends going to music festivals, concerts, and to our neighborhood pub to enjoy the local talent. Needless to say, finding a great live band was a top priority for me during wedding planning.
I knew I wanted a live band... but NOT a typical wedding band. It would ruin my night if the reception was filled with the same awful weddings songs (queue September, Sweet Caroline, and ANY Journey!)
Our wedding planner sent us to see a couple of wedding band expo's but they were all playing the same, awful, cheesy wedding music that was just not our vibe.
My fiance and I met and got engaged in Baltimore. We knew of Tom Starr band because they always play at Cat's Eye Pub in Fell's Point and we had seen them play a couple of times at 8x10 in Fed. The second we found out that they also do weddings we signed the contract immediately.
They were everything I could have hoped for and more. We did an acoustic guitar and keys for the ceremony, band trio for cocktail hour, and the whole band (standard package + keys and horns) for the reception. It was perfect. They learned all of the songs we wanted for first dances, threw in some Dead during cocktail hour, and kept the energy going all night long.
They provide mic's for the ceremony, a DJ to play music while the band is on a very short break, an MC to keep everything going as scheduled, and provided our photo booth.
I really loved working with them and couldn't recommend them enough. All of our friends and family said how much they loved the band and told us it was the most fun wedding they've been to because everyone was on the dance floor all night long.

Super Velvet Band exceeded our expectations for our May 2024 wedding! From the planning stages through our wedding night, everyone was extremely responsive, helpful and made the entire experience fun. They learned specific songs in addition to their extensive song list. Prior to our wedding, we had a chance to see them perform at a local event and which made us even more excited for them to perform at our wedding. They helped us with the timeline and designing our Photo Booth photo printout.

Our wedding night was unforgettable and they played a huge part in that. We cannot recommend them enough!

There is absolutely no question that hiring DMG was among the best decisions we made for our wedding. Working with Dan, Adam, and Jon was a joy and so easy, despite all the choices involved with selecting wedding music. Leading up to the big day, they were patient and willing to work with us and our venue--where they had never played before--on adhering to sound limitations. We were blown away with their performances on the day-of across the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and so many of our guests were too. We have several friends who are very musically inclined (and who themselves had great bands at their weddings) and they were repeatedly saying on the dance floor how great the band sounded. We are so grateful for all of the preparation and skill from Dan and the team in executing each portion of the evening, and we wish we could've kept dancing for about 5 more hours. We are also so thankful that they stuck around for us to do our private “last dance” even after all our guests left, due to some last minute weather-related adjustments to our exit plan. That moment was so special to close out a spectacular evening. Our experience was EXACTLY what we were hoping to get out of having a live band at our wedding, and we would highly recommend the Dan McGuire Group!!

We can't say enough amazing things about Dan McGuire Group!!! We picked a 4 person live band and added a photo booth for our wedding and we also chose to have an acoustic set for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Everything was PERFECT! The communication was so fast and professional from the start and Jon was so great to work with on the initial planning and photobooth. We were really stressed about picking the music for the wedding and once we met with Dan and Adam for our final planning call we felt like a giant weight was lifted off of us. They were so kind and patient with us and gave us so many great suggestions. They also learned the song we chose for our first dance because we wanted a live version and they KILLED IT! (FYI, Dan, your Hozier voice is amazing)! We cannot thank you enough for everything you did to make our wedding day perfect! You guys had everyone up and dancing and everyone had the best time (we are still getting compliments)!

DMG was incredible and we have had so many compliments about the band!! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how good they were and how much fun everyone was having. The energy was next level and they made our wedding the fun party that we always wanted! Jon was also an incredible partner to work with and so helpful and responsive in answering all of our questions, especially on the details like sound, mics, and lighting. We so appreciated all of the care they put into the planning to make the day of so special and so fun. We went back and forth on band versus DJ for the wedding and SO happy we went with DMG. It was one of the best decisions!!
