Courtney is among the best of the best. We are not a very photogenic couple, and knew we wanted someone to capture our day in a beautiful but authentic way. When I think about the expectations I had for our wedding compared to how the event actually turned out, I can’t help but think how lucky we were all weekend. Experiencing our vision come to life was a special moment for us. The coordination, communication, and execution of all vendor services exceeded expectations and contributed to truly making our wedding a blast from the past and a memory we will hold onto forever.

Living in Colorado and having to find vendors in Michigan, preferably in the TC area, was a process that required research and a decision made based off of budget, style, reviews, and a “gut feeling”. It was important to us when choosing a photography company, that the photographer showed good communication skills, competitive costs, and could bring a vision to life through their lens. Courtney Kent and her assistant, Liz, did exactly that.
Courtney is not only a talented photographer, but a professional business owner. Being in a different timezone and across the country made planning difficult. No matter how poor my communication or follow through was, Courtney ensured that we knew we were on her radar and reminded us of important dates items were due through email. Courtney was always communicative on when she was available and answered any and all questions we had.
During the wedding weekend, Courtney was communicative with expectations, schedule, and contract times. When the time came for photos, Courtney and Liz made our group feel comfortable. As a couple who doesn’t enjoy taking pictures, Courtney and Liz made the entire experience fun, allowing us to live in the moment. Their recommendations and considerations towards the environment in which the photos were taken were well thought out and executed. Courtney has a special eye for not only capturing the emotions and reactions of wedding attendees and the wedding party, but also demonstrates an understanding and vision for the details that make the wedding special to the couple. Each personal touch that was worked into our big day was captured though Courtney and Liz’s lenses and provided insight post wedding on the small details that were not seen on the day of.
The post wedding process was just as pleasant. Courtney was quick to send her preview (around 100 photos) and met all contracted timelines for edits and release of photos. The overall quality of the photos and service provided met/exceeded expectations. I will use Courtney in the future and highly recommend couples utilize her for a top notch experience and service.

We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Courtney. From the very beginning, she went so far above and beyond anything we could have expected. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she was such a calming, guiding presence throughout our entire wedding day.

Courtney and her second photographer, Chelsea, were incredible! From day one booking with Courtney to the day of the wedding, she made so much of the wedding planning so much easier. One of our favorite things is how thoughtfully she documented our guests. She caught so many meaningful, joyful, and unexpected moments that we didn’t even realize were happening at the time. Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the entire day from every angle.
 
And somehow, she even managed to capture some super fun action photos of all of us jumping into the lake. Those photos are fun, dynamic and completely “us,” and they’re some of our absolute favorites.

Courtney photographed both our welcome party and our wedding this past July in Traverse City, and even now—nearly six months later—I still have friends and family commenting on how incredible and accommodating she was. One thing that truly stood out to me was her emotional intelligence throughout the many moments that come up during a wedding day. I often felt like I didn’t even need to explain what I needed—she just knew. That was especially appreciated, given this was my first time going through the wedding process.

We aren’t based in Traverse City, and Courtney made everything feel seamless and easy from a remote perspective. Communication, planning, and coordination were all effortless, which gave us so much peace of mind leading up to the weekend.

We are absolutely thrilled with our photos—especially the film shots. They feel so organic, timeless, and true to the day. She captured not only beautiful moments between us, but also incredible photos of our guests and the scenery, far beyond what I could have hoped for. Courtney was a joy to work with. She took a lot of time prior to our wedding day to learn about us as a couple, and figure out exactly what our hopes were for our photography. She clearly provided different package options so I did not feel stressed about cost and could pick what works best for our budget. On the day of our wedding, she was professional, providing guidance when we needed it, and also staying out of the way to capture those great candid moments as well. I was happy about the timeline for getting our images back. She provided us with a mini collection of photos soon after the wedding day, and a full album shortly there after that. Working with her was very transparent and I’m satisfied with our results.

Courtney was everything we were looking for in a wedding photographer and we couldn't be happier. We had our dream wedding in October and she nailed exactly what we wanted for all of our pictures. She was extremely thorough, and we were able to touch base with her several times before the big day and help to be on the same page of our "vision" for our big day. Because of all her effort and planning, the entire day felt seamless and and truly just magical. My biggest fear for the day was not being able to feel present fully or pulled in a million directions. Courtney's pre-planning for our day, artistic eye, and overall professionalism truly helped capture our big day in the exact way we wanted.
