I cannot rave enough about this venue! From the moment we toured this venue, we fell in love! Kelly Christenson-Mims was great! She was incredibly flexible with our needs and our budget. She responded to all million questions quickly. Then our event was transferred to our wedding coordinator, Kristina Cappazoli. Kristina was incredible. She was easy going but on it! She knew what we needed before we did. She helped us with things we would have never thought. She helped us book our room at the Marriott when we were just coming into town to work on other wedding things, since we are from Michigan, we came to the city quite a few times and she always helped. The weekend of our wedding went perfect! When I was ready to give up on doing a first look, she refused and she found us the perfect place and made it happen! The entire Red Coat Staff was amazing and our guests even commented on how great they were. If you are looking for a place that is like a one-stop-shop, this is it! we paid one price for: ceremony, reception, dance floor, plated dinner, cake, linens, 5.5 hours of open bar, an amazing team, day of the wedding coordinator, and the most amazing suite in the hotel. We had such a wonderful experience working with Rose at the Courtyard! She was so flexible and willing to work with us to make our reception exactly what we'd hoped for. She was always available to meet with us to discuss everything from lighting, to room layouts, hotel rooms, you name it. Dominic is the catering manager and he too is nothing short of wonderful! Both Rose and Dominic sat down and did our food and booze tasting with us and made the whole experience so much fun. On the day of the event both of them were on their A game, making sure that everything was in order and that all our guests were having a great time. From the beginning up to the very end they were so pleasant to work with. Also, we went in with fairly low expectations for the quality of food that we'd be able to get at a hotel, and were absolutely blown away by the exceptional food! We had sooo many guests raving about the food and commenting on how they'd been to so many weddings at super ritzy, fancy upscale places where the food absolutely paled in comparison. I highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for a great location downtown at a reasonable price!Sent on 09/29/2014

So where do I begin with this one.... The hotel or the wedding planner..... Well BOTH were more than fantastic. We had looked around for a little bit around a year prior to our wedding, went to Spiggia, Hotel Sax, The Drake, and a few more I don't remember. The Marriott far stood out from the rest. During our initial visit we met the pastry chef, were provided a lunch in Harvest which is all locally grown and all food is made from scratch! This place wowed us in every way and made getting married exactly what it should be, STRESS FREE! From the day we signed the contract we were introduced to Kristina Capazolli, who in my opinion is one of the most organized, helpful, nicest but get crap done person you will ever meet. If i had an extra 1K to give her as a tip after the wedding i would have. Kristina and the Marriott staff made everything easy, from the fabulous tasting to grabbing 50 - 312 beers that some hooligans in another wedding party stole from our coolers waiting outside for our trolleys. The Marriott did everything right, and for once we had a wedding where we could say that I didn't notice anything was going wrong because it wasn't! The venue, the food, the beer selection, the flexibility, the professionalism, it was 5 Diamond style. If your looking for an amazing hotel venue right in the heart of Michigan ave at a budget friendly price, please do yourself a favor and just check the Marriott out for yourself, you will not be disappointed.Sent on 11/27/2012
