We had the great opportunity to work with Carter Creations at Southern Grace Farms! Lorin and her team were exquisite. The organization of the wedding was awesome. She provided timeline, shot lists, and couple requests. Truly made the day run smoothly. As a photographer, I would love to work with this planner again.

I worked with Lorin for about 1.5yr planning my wedding. I'd have to say after my wedding day was a little said because I wouldn't be working with her anymore :( If your looking for a wedding planner who will help you organize everything, be there to give you positivity when youre doubtful or stress, have a bubbly and friendly personality, have the creativity and vision to help you design and execute your dream wedding and so much more then look no further! Lorin was extremely professional and by far the best wedding planner there is. Lauren and I had several meetings throughout the 16 month long engagement I had. We met via zoom and she was available via text as well. She is very creative, flexible, , professional and so much more. Lorin was able to take my wedding Pinterest board and bring it to life. She has a large decoration stock which enabled me to reduce the cost of spending on my decorations. Lauren even went through the planning process with us, she gave me a tool to help me stay on track with the planning process. When I had an issue with one of my vendors, she was able to professionally deal with the issue and ensure that I got what I wanted for my wedding day. Lorin and her assistant Kathy were able to help us move through our wedding day smoothly. From the day I met Lorin to my wedding day, I felt that Lorin was professional and experienced. For the amount of services I have received, versus what I paid for, Lorin went above and beyond to make sure my wedding day was amazing. I hired Lorin for day-of and I felt that she gave me the individualized and personalized experience.

Lorin & her business, Carter Creations, were instrumental in making my wedding day spectacular. I clicked with Lorin during the free consultation, and her quote was within our budget, so I hired her. She was very organized, experienced, and knowledgeable. She has connections with various vendors from all over NC, which I found to be immensely helpful because there are SO MANY good choices for florists and DJs and deserts - it's hard to know where to start! She also has a large inventory of wedding supplies that we relied on for decor at our wedding, including a welcome mirror/sign that I loved and an AWESOME sweetheart table setup (see photos). It looked SO classy and I was thrilled by how beautiful it looked and how well it went with the eclectic vibe we had going.

She has various apps and online software tools that we used together to help plan the day, including a custom timeline that kept me organized as we prepped for the big day. It was critical to have her to help me stay accountable for getting stuff done! The other key tool is the 3D mockup software. She had a virtual layout of our venue and was able to show me various setup options so I could better envision my day.

It rained for our day, so we had to switch to our Rainy Day Plan. And you know what? Many of our guests told me they thought it was our original plan; it was so organized and seamless! The biggest reason I'm so grateful to Lorin and THRILLED that I hired her because I able to be present on my wedding day and enjoy the company of my loved ones more than I would have if I had been busy setting stuff up or hustling around.

Lorin was amazing to work with! Very thoughtful and kept me organized as a DIY Bride. I really appreciated her and her team for helping my vision come to be. There were things that went wrong on the day of with vendors that pushed us back almost an hour and she handled it like the pro she is. She even helped me after the wedding when I was discussing these issues with vendors. I have already recommended her to a friend.

Like I said, I was a DIY Bride so I really needed someone to help with setup/take down of decor and helping me iron out details. Lorin did that and then some. There was even a decor item that my uncle set up, but forgot to take down, that her team said they could take down for me.

Finally, I want to highlight the moral support Lorin provided. Like I said, things went wrong at the wedding that made it impossible to do key activities I had planned. Lorin and her team encouraged me during the event and when I was over it, suggested that I still end my night with the planned send-off. It went amazing and the pictures were gorgeous.

Wow. So many things can be said about our experience with Lorin and Carter Creations. The first thing we appreciated was her story and heartfelt passion for weddings itself. We felt we were not just a job or a quota for her but an opportunity to do what she loves to do. We may have been one of many weddings this summer, but we felt like we were the only one on her schedule. That passion, her fun/ honest personality, and then the fact that Lorin both plans AND designs (major benefit here with 3D mock ups for us!) led us to choose Carter Creations as our planner. Lorin understood in our initial meeting that we were not into cookie cutter ideas that might fit anyone but wanted to create a wedding that could only be ours. Which meant alot of times the ideas came from blank paper without specific examples to go off of. My husband and I had a really unique vision, non traditional, mixed faith, artistic and whimsical, we wanted to incorporate fun, spirit, ancestors, nature, love of movies, vintage, afrofuturism, special "moments" throughout the space, and had high vision for it all to be done in an simple yet layered, elegant, chic, modern, romantic way, with premium production value. We came with a google doc of inspiration and no experience whatsoever. Lorin truly helped make our hodgepodge of ideas an organized planning process and then a wedding to remember. We also had a vision to support as many Black businesses as we could, especially being married on Juneteeth weekend. Lorin went above and beyond to research amazing businesses that we would have not found otherwise.

Lorin helped us with every aspect of our wedding and came with solutions to our challenges around budget, design, time, guest lists, and decision making. She also took the time to understand our vision from the start. Not just what we wanted but who we are, which really came in handy down the line when at times it was frustrating to figure out what I needed/wanted while also preparing to be married. I could lean back and trust that Lorin would handle it and bring it to the homestretch. She goes the extra mile for sure. As two people who have never planned a wedding, nor knew ANY of the things that really needed to go into planning a wedding we needed hand holding every step of the way. We collaborated alot. Some things my husband and I wanted to do ourselves and Lorin was open to this and picked up the baton when needed. As a bride making very big emotional decisions for my life, I appreciated Lorin's side messages of motivation and advice reminding me to delegate, to breathe, keep calm, and most importantly to have fun.

Our wedding was not just a day but a culmination of many things that my husband and I have been working on personally over the last few years, our wholeness and freedom. Freedom was our theme and had a vision that the ceremony be a full embodiment of who we are individually and as a couple. Lorin got that we wanted this to show in the design from the moment of our movie theme Save the dates, to the design of the space, the music, the feeling created for our guests, the vendors chosen, etc. Her arsenal of experience, really creative design ideas and skilled execution, and resources was a game changer. She also worked with our wedding party to get them things they needed as well, taking even more of a load off of us. Her communication was great throughout the months working with her. She was very patient with us! (we're really busy tv/film professionals that perpetually missed the deadlines). On the flip side she was also very adamant, honest, and drill sergeant with us too when needed which we wholeheartedly appreciated because it saved time, money, and sanity. On the wedding day, Lorin and her team were amazingly professional, creative, personable, and God sent. Lorin saved me from things that could have taken my nerves out and kept me guarded from anything that I didn't need to be a part of.

We appreciated that Lorin took us on as an exciting challenge and didn't give in to anything short of our vision. And the things that we did need to let go of (based on budget or time or something else) she was always there and ensured that the essence of our vision always remained intact. For example, a few weeks before the wedding we decided to scale way down on flower budget and I had actually given up on flowers altogether. But, Lorin worked with the vendor's florist to negotiate a few key things for them to do while Lorin's team handled the rest in other ways. So despite nixing over half my flower budget we were still able to create the "romantic garden" vision I dreamed of. From spreading fresh rose petals throughout the space, to strategically placed faux flowers. Lorin opened our minds to other options that gave us what we wanted, within our budget. We recommend Lorin as someone who will benefit you at whatever stage of your wedding planning you are on. I personally was blown away at the way our reception designs came together. Sooo unique, so elegant, so perfectly us. Lastly I'll say that every single one of our guests that spoke to us after the wedding said that it was one of the best, if not the best, they have gone to and they were serious. Lorin and Carter Creations are absolutely a big part of the reason our guests (and us and the bride/groom) walked away feeling that way... and still do even months later. Seriously, we get messages all the time about it even now.

COVID-19 hit 6 weeks before our wedding, so we did not get to use Carter Creations for our reception. But we had a great experience planning our vision for our reception with Lorin. Later in the year we had a small intimate dinner celebrating our marriage and she definitely brought our vision to life!! It was a beautiful experience and we can not wait to use Carter Creations for our next event!!
