Nestled atop a wooded bluff overlooking the Catawba River, Riverwalk Event Venue is one of the most enchanting destinations in the Charlotte Metro area for weddings, celebrations, and gatherings. Formerly known as Brakefield, our venue blends old-world European elegance with modern comfort and versatility, creating an unforgettable backdrop for every occasion.

Located within Riverwalk, a 1,000-acre live/work/play community in northern Rock Hill, South Carolina, the venue offers convenience and natural beauty in perfect harmony. Whether you're celebrating love, milestones, or team success, Riverwalk Event Venue is where stories come to life.

THE FACILITY

When guests arrive, they are welcomed by the venue’s grey stone and stucco exterior, framed with flickering gas lanterns and a grand Knotty Alder double-door entrance. Architectural details like soaring spired roofs and a signature turret reflect timeless European charm, while the interior boasts natural slate flooring, baroque-inspired lighting, and thoughtful design.

Riverwalk Event Venue offers:

• Four private suites, each designed in neutral tones, making them inclusive, elegant, and ideal for all guests regardless of gender. These suites offer comfort for getting ready, relaxing, or gathering with loved ones before the celebration.

• The Carriage House Suite, with panoramic river views, a wrap-around porch, and its own private entrance, is a favorite for couples or clients seeking privacy and tranquility before or during their event.

• A stunning turret room with 20-foot ceilings and six tall windows, offering a dramatic and light-filled space perfect for pre-ceremony moments or one-of-a-kind portraits.

• A richly furnished Green Room is available to wedding parties or as a private breakout space for speakers, vendors, or business teams.

• A nearly 3,000 square foot Grand Hall, designed to accommodate both intimate gatherings and large-scale celebrations. Its classic aesthetic and flexible layout make it ideal for wedding receptions, formal dinners, or corporate events.

THE GROUNDS

Connected to the Grand Hall through five sets of eight-foot French doors, our 1,200 square foot covered patio opens onto the lush back lawn, offering panoramic views of the Catawba River. The surrounding grounds are beautifully landscaped and provide a peaceful natural setting for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and golden-hour photos.

Situated alongside a portion of the Carolina Thread Trail, the Riverwalk Event Venue offers over two miles of riverside paths perfect for serene walks or scenic photography. This unique blend of nature and elegance makes the Venue unlike any other in the region.
