We recently held our wedding reception and ceremony at Boonshoft and it was truly amazing. The day of, the musuem staff were SO helpful in making the day such a perfect success. I could not believe that we received the entire museum for our event at such a low cost. We got married in the planetarium and held the reception in a huge exhibit hall. Our guests were able to wander the museum all night and they had so much fun exploring. Our wedding was on a Saturday, but we had access to the space all day on Friday which enabled us to set up early and have a truly stress free wedding day. I cannot recommend this venue high enough and hope that you choose it for an event in your future!

I was the wedding planner/coordinator for a wedding at the Boonshoft Museum a few months ago. I cannot say enough good things about the space and their staff! Mandy was responsive, friendly, and helpful in the weeks leading up to and on the day of the wedding. The rest of the staff was also fantastic - ready and willing to help with whatever we needed throughout the day.

Couples who choose to get married here are in for a real treat! In addition to being just a super cool space for an event with many exhibits open for guests to explore, the museum created a customized star movie in the theatre which showed the constellations and planets at various important dates throughout their relationship (the day they met, got engaged, their wedding date, etc.) It was nerd-tastic.

I highly recommend the Boonshoft Museum as a wedding venue.

I can't say enough good things about this vendor. From the moment I toured the location until the day of the wedding, everything was thoroughly explained and highly organized. My guests loved this venue and thought I had spent a fortune on it. There are plenty of options when it comes to spaces to rent and all of them are very unique. The staff was friendly and always in the know of what was going on. Amanda, the on site coordinator, was very responsive and flexible. Thanks so much for helping our day be perfect!

My husband and I were looking for something unique for our wedding and we are so glad we chose Boonshoft. Our ceremony was in the amphitheater and the reception was in the main exhibit hall. Both areas were a perfect fit. Our family and friends had so much fun exploring the museum and everyone is still talking about what a great venue it was. We worked with Jamie to coordinate everything and she was awesome to work with. She really helped to make sure everything went smoothly.

This is a great and unique venue for a wedding reception. They have many different rooms that you can choose from that fits your needs! It is a little on the costly side, but it is worth it!

We worked with Jamie Denlinger who was very professional and kind. She was such a blessing and easy to work with! The venue was awesome, and everyone that attended my wedding had plenty of fun. We rented the 2nd floor so people could walk around and explore. We were wanting our ceremony outside, but it had to be moved inside to the exhibit hall because of the weather. Overall, great venue for any ceremony and reception. Highly recommended!

Having my wedding at the Boonshoft museum was absolutely amazing! Getting married in the planetarium is something I will never forget-and how many people get to have their own planetarium show? The sphere room for dancing was so much fun. Loved it.

So this is an amazing, fantastic venue that your guests are guaranteed to rave about. However I will caution brides that you will have to be highly organized and double check the vendor a ton. What we agreed on was not what was delivered on the day of. For example, we were supposed to have the top floor rented out exclusively for our reception, but they closed the zoo for another private tour. We had also wanted some of the optional stations like the tidal pool set up, which didn't happen. So just be ready to have to really champion for yourself. All my other vendors delivered on what they promised which is definitely not the case for the Boonshoft

The Boonshoft Museum itself is an excellent facility for an event. We had our wedding reception there and it provided the unique and fun backdrop we wanted and it was the perfect facility for our event. The rental management, however, is a bit of a drawback when it comes to renting space here for an event. We found the management we worked with in particular to have very poor customer service skills and did not seem to care about how our event actually went on the day of the wedding. Before the wedding, we ran into some issues and she seemed more than happy to assist with problems, but the promises made to us before our event were not actually kept on the day of the event and management did not seem to care or want to make things right. Also, in the rental brochure they state that they will make your event a private event even if it is scheduled during the day - they state that they will make sure your event remains private. However, management ended up booking another event during ours and although we were assured the other event would not interfere with ours, we had guests of the other event roaming freely through our rented space and there was no staff stopping this from happening.

My recommendation is that if you are okay with not having privacy during your reception and if you are okay with having to work with rental management who do not care how your day goes, then I wouldn't hesitate about renting the facility because it is a wonderful location and our guests loved their time at the museum. However, if you are looking for decent customer service from management that wants to help you make your day go well, then I recommend looking elsewhere as there are other locations that are also unique and can be fun for your guests.

In brief, it is an excellent location, my guests loved it, and it fit our wedding theme/vibe perfectly. But on the flip-side, very poor service from management that has no interest in you or your day.
