We had our wedding at the new Manor 1858 and had Bluewater Kitchen cater the rehearsal dinner and wedding day. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about them as they were so incredibly easy to work with, attentive to detail, professional, and went above and beyond to specifically curate the exact meals we wanted for each special event. If you choose Bluewater, your choices are honestly endless and they will ensure that you get whatever your heart desires for each meal. For example, I asked for chocolate strawberries and chocolate covered eclairs for our rehearsal dinner and we even got strawberry covered chocolate mousse dome cakes for our wedding reception. It was above and beyond. The fact they can handle rentals as well makes the planning process so much easier and helps to consolidate vendors. They were incredibly efficient and professional during day of set-up and truly had the kindest staff across the board from set-up to waitstaff. I could not be happier with my experience with them. You definitely should choose Bluewater Kitchen, you will not regret it!! Also, the food was INCREDIBLE. All my guests were raving.

Bluewater's food is excellent. Their hors d'oeuvres were so cute on the platter and were delicious (we loved the mini chicken pot pies). And we had a hard time narrowing down to the chicken and fish for entrees because we liked everything we tried so much during the tasting.

Christina is so wonderful and helpful, and she made our day run seamlessly. She helped us in the weeks leading up to the wedding with menu details, room layout, figuring out beverage amounts and getting in touch with our other vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page.

On the day of, she was there to help our friend who was officiating our wedding work out kinks minutes before the ceremony, and during the reception she made sure we got food and drinks, and was quick to offer the back of her earring to the bride when hers fell out. She kept things so organized and stopped any potential problems in their tracks.

They put together a beautiful and intimate tasting above a flower shop where Chef Michael came in to explain each course and was receptive and happy to make any changes that we needed for our event. From the instant you meet them, you can tell what an incredible team they have. They were warm, responsive, and both easy to talk to and put us at ease about our decision. But the best part of course...THE FOOD! The appetizers, salad, and main entree all blew us away. Every bite we had we said was the best bite of the meal (and possibly our lives). The crazy part was that for such a special five star meal their pricing was comparable to bigger box-store type caterers. Their amazing service, food, and price made the decision easy and we left our tasting knowing we had found our caterer. When we had to change plans from our big wedding to a small private dinner, it was no problem for Bluewater Kitchen. Not only did they cater our small family dinner, but they provided the venue at their new beautiful cottage event space. They made it so special, setting up the venue with twinkle lights and floating candles. All of our family were blown away by both the food and the amazing service, so much so that the dinner was all they could talk about for months. We can’t wait to work with them for our rescheduled reception in fall 2021. We worked with Christina and Bluewater Kitchen for our August 2020 wedding at Tranquility Farm. I have to thank Christina and her team for being so flexible and understanding with us while making so many changes to our plans during the COVID-19 situation. We went from expecting 160 guests to 30, with numerous precautions in place. Christina and her team pulled off an event that was fun, safe, and seamless. We did not look at any other caterers or coordinators and we didn't need to - we were thrilled with Bluewater Kitchen.

The food was excellent and we appreciated the care that Bluewater Kitchen took to cover allergies, dietary restrictions, and highlight seasonal ingredients. Our guests were so impressed. Bluewater also provided lunch and Sunday breakfast for us, and catered our rehearsal dinner, and everything was a huge hit.

The service was also outstanding - the staff was very safe, everyone with masks and gloves - and extremely warm and enthusiastic. Christina and her team communicated the COVID-19 precautions well in advance and we were grateful that our small number of guests were well cared for in a safe environment.

Christina also served as our month-of coordinator, but really, her planning help began about two months in advance since we decided to significantly downsize our wedding. She knows her stuff and is very familiar with Tranquility Farm. Her timeline is detailed and she walks you through every last detail. Inevitably something will come up and you'll freak out, and every time that happened, Christina was calm and had already thought of whatever had come up. We are so grateful for her expertise and calm during a unique time.

Throughout the entire planning process we loved BWK's professionalism and overall kind staff as we planned our wedding. We had a unique situation in that my mother-in-law is a wedding caterer herself. BWK was amazingly flexible in letting her bring rentals and other decor items for the wedding. The plating and food was great - I still have people telling me how amazing they thought the food was! The BWK menu tasting before the wedding was also such a fun experience - my husband and I were able to bring our parents along too! Overall, highly recommend them to anyone getting married in the Northern, VA area.

Hiring BWK was the best decision we made in wedding planning by far! I work in the wedding industry as a florist so I've seen my fair share of catering companies and planners and I knew when we spoke with Christina that her, Michael, and their team are the kind of people that truly care about what they do. Needless to say they did not disappoint, everything from the time spent during the tasting, pouring over details, site visits, phone call check-ins, and lastly, the execution of the big day all exceeded our expectations. Another plus was that I had industry friends who are planners and caterers in other states who also agreed that BWK was a solid choice. Do yourself a favor and hire this team!

My husband and I worked with Bluewater Kitchen for our wedding at a farm in Virginia, and can't be more thankful for having found them. We were pretty flexible for most of the things in the course of wedding planning but food was among the few priorities we set since it is something both of us care about. I first came across BWK with a strong recommendation from the farm we got married at but it didn't take long to fall in love with their philosophy of using strictly locally sourced products and willingness to work with couples to curate their own menu. In fact, my husband and I were so convinced that we would want to work with BWK that we stopped reaching out to other caterers. Michael, the head chef, was true to details and flexible with any feedback and questions we had during the tasting. He also helped us create an appetizer with pork belly that both of us are very fond of. Many of my friends and family came up to us and said our wedding hors d'oeuvres and reception food were among the best they had at a wedding. Christina and Melissa were just so helpful throughout the entire process and patient with the last minute changes we had for the reception. The BWK team was simply amazing and I sincerely think my wedding day - the happiest and most blessed day I've ever had - wouldn't have been possible without them. We actually had a small episode during the reception but that didn't affect anything and anyone thanks to BWK's professionalism. My recommendation for BWK goes beyond words!

AMAZING!! Truly Amazing! Their whole style and process (farm to table) fit our vibe perfectly. Michael was very accommodating when finalizing our menu and even added a couple extra options for cocktail hour. Since their food steals the show, it is only right to give it a shout out. For our cocktail hour we had, a Brisket Slider Station, Meat and Cheese Boards, Arancini Balls (Best I Have Every Had), Summer Corn and Crab Chips, and Chicken Skewers. Multiple guests said that our cocktail hour was the best they have ever experienced. Bluewater even came up with our signature drinks (White Sangria and Moscow Mule) and they were so delicious I lost track of how many I had (don't tell my wife).

We did our wedding tasting almost a year before the wedding and all the food tasted the exact same. They even accommodated by adding our parents to the tasting. I would tell you more about the tasting, but it was so perfect I want to leave it as a surprise. Bluewater was not just our caterer, Christina was also our wedding planner. We went to their rental studio to pick out all the tables, linens, dinnerware etc and she did an amazing job bringing my wife's vision to life. We even ran into an issue where the table clothes we originally picked were discontinued and Christina not only came up with a new and better design, she also got us a discount from the rental company for the inconvenience. Oh, did we mention she did all this while being pregnant? That's right, Christina and Michael had their baby a month before our wedding, and all throughout her pregnancy, Christina was a true pleasure and extremely professional to work with. Just to make sure that we had the best day, Christina decided to have her friend Becky help her our with our wedding just incase she could not be there. Well it turns out both Christina and Becky were there for our big day and executed everything perfectly. We will never plan another event without the Bluewater team.

Overall, we had a very positive experience working with Blue Water Kitchen! We went through a number of tastings before booking with BWK and once we had our tasting with them, there was no going back. They hosted a private tasting for us on their property, giving us a very exclusive feeling experience, and we even sat with the head chef, Michael and talked through what we loved and didn't love. The customized our menu to fit our personalities, while keeping true to their "farm to table" brand. Christina has a unique eye for design and was tremendous when it came time to pick out our table settings. She was extremely communicative leading up to the wedding and very flexible when we ended up with 50 fewer guests than expected. Our guests said that our food was the best they had EVER had at a wedding - and we agree! We especially loved the crab cakes, unique signature cocktails, short ribs, and fun appetizers. We would recommend Blue Water to anyone we meet - they are a wonderful team!
