We highly recommend Bluewater Kitchen for catering, and as a day of coordinator. They're super experienced, but we love that you get the attention and connection of a smaller business that gets to know its clients.
Bluewater's food is excellent. Their hors d'oeuvres were so cute on the platter and were delicious (we loved the mini chicken pot pies). And we had a hard time narrowing down to the chicken and fish for entrees because we liked everything we tried so much during the tasting.
Christina is so wonderful and helpful, and she made our day run seamlessly. She helped us in the weeks leading up to the wedding with menu details, room layout, figuring out beverage amounts and getting in touch with our other vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page.
On the day of, she was there to help our friend who was officiating our wedding work out kinks minutes before the ceremony, and during the reception she made sure we got food and drinks, and was quick to offer the back of her earring to the bride when hers fell out. She kept things so organized and stopped any potential problems in their tracks. -

We worked with Christina and Bluewater Kitchen for our August 2020 wedding at Tranquility Farm. I have to thank Christina and her team for being so flexible and understanding with us while making so many changes to our plans during the COVID-19 situation. We went from expecting 160 guests to 30, with numerous precautions in place. Christina and her team pulled off an event that was fun, safe, and seamless. We did not look at any other caterers or coordinators and we didn't need to - we were thrilled with Bluewater Kitchen.
The food was excellent and we appreciated the care that Bluewater Kitchen took to cover allergies, dietary restrictions, and highlight seasonal ingredients. Our guests were so impressed. Bluewater also provided lunch and Sunday breakfast for us, and catered our rehearsal dinner, and everything was a huge hit.
The service was also outstanding - the staff was very safe, everyone with masks and gloves - and extremely warm and enthusiastic. Christina and her team communicated the COVID-19 precautions well in advance and we were grateful that our small number of guests were well cared for in a safe environment.
Christina also served as our month-of coordinator, but really, her planning help began about two months in advance since we decided to significantly downsize our wedding. She knows her stuff and is very familiar with Tranquility Farm. Her timeline is detailed and she walks you through every last detail. Inevitably something will come up and you'll freak out, and every time that happened, Christina was calm and had already thought of whatever had come up. We are so grateful for her expertise and calm during a unique time.

Hiring BWK was the best decision we made in wedding planning by far! I work in the wedding industry as a florist so I've seen my fair share of catering companies and planners and I knew when we spoke with Christina that her, Michael, and their team are the kind of people that truly care about what they do. Needless to say they did not disappoint, everything from the time spent during the tasting, pouring over details, site visits, phone call check-ins, and lastly, the execution of the big day all exceeded our expectations. Another plus was that I had industry friends who are planners and caterers in other states who also agreed that BWK was a solid choice. Do yourself a favor and hire this team! -

We went through a number of tastings before booking with BWK and once we had our tasting with them, there was no going back. They hosted a private tasting for us on their property, giving us a very exclusive feeling experience, and we even sat with the head chef, Michael and talked through what we loved and didn't love. The customized our menu to fit our personalities, while keeping true to their "farm to table" brand. Christina has a unique eye for design and was tremendous when it came time to pick out our table settings. She was extremely communicative leading up to the wedding and very flexible when we ended up with 50 fewer guests than expected. Our guests said that our food was the best they had EVER had at a wedding - and we agree! We especially loved the crab cakes, unique signature cocktails, short ribs, and fun appetizers. We would recommend Blue Water to anyone we meet - they are a wonderful team! -

Meredith Sent on 12/17/2015BlueWater Kitchen catered our wedding and they are just awesome! Michael and Christina, the owners, are wonderful to work with. Michael is also the chef and is a great talent, and Christina managed the catering. Christina also did a fabulous job pulling together the table decor, which I threw her way only about a month before the wedding. I just told her what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend, and she nailed it! The food, drink and atmosphere were extremely important to us and they executed our wedding vision perfectly. We wanted it to feel like a great party, so we went with a menu of a number of heavy hors d'oeuvres - raw oysters, mini burgers, mini caesar salads, beef skewers, fried mac n' cheese bites, to name a few - they were all delicious! I also really wanted a leg of Spanish Jamon Serrano being carved to order, in honor of my Spanish heritage, and they made it happen. Our guests had a great time, and all told us how much they loved the food, the ambiance, the decor, the whole experience. It would not have been possible without BlueWater Kitchen, thank you Michael and Christina! -

You will not be disappointed if you choose Bluewater Kitchen for your event or wedding. We spoke to more than 5 vendors, did 2 tastings, and truly, from our very first interaction to the day of our wedding, Bluewater stood out from everyone else. From the very first conversation, it was clear that they were committed to making our vision a reality while staying within our budget. Their flexibility and creativity were unmatched—they worked with us to craft a menu that felt personal, unique, and absolutely perfect for our celebration.
What really stood out was their innovation. Christina and her team went beyond the usual wedding fare, presenting ideas and options that were fresh, exciting, and tailored to our tastes. Their ability to think outside the box and offer creative suggestions made the entire planning process so much fun.
And the food? Absolutely delicious! From the appetizers to the main courses to the desserts, everything was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how incredible the food was—it truly became one of the highlights of the day. As you know, wedding food can sometimes be quite blah in either flavor or presentation. One of the most important aspects of our wedding was providing our guests with an incredible meal as food is such an important aspect of our lives. We were able to blend in two culturally different regions of food (Southern Style BBQ and Asian cuisines) in a chic, elevated, and tasteful manner thanks to the Bluewater team. We were able to also provide an entire bar menu rather than focusing on one "signature drink".
On top of all that, the team was professional, organized, and an absolute pleasure to work with. They ensured that everything ran smoothly, so we could relax and enjoy our special day.

Delicious food - and an overall excellent experience for our 4/30/22 wedding (that we waiting 2.5 years for). Bluewater Kitchen is an incredible caterer! The food is second-to-none, and incredibly plated, perfectly made. The staff was fantastic and very attentive to our vision, ensuring every aspect was covered. Christina was incredibly helpful and made choosing the rental items a breeze! Every time we are in the area, we like to go to say hi and visit their store for a tasty lunch. We cannot recommend them enough for all of your wedding and event needs! -

Bluewater Kitchen's level of service was top tier on our wedding day and it matched Chef Michael's wonderful culinary skills. All of our guests told us that every bite was incredibly delicious and the presentation was remarkable. We met with Bluewater Kitchen over the phone and in person throughout a pandemic and they were able to curate a menu that matched our different cultures. We got mini Colombian arepas, tasty gazpacho and other assortments of passed light and heavy hors d'oeuvres to fit in with our "social distance" friendly event. The staff was incredibly professional on our wedding day as they balanced being present and blending in with the event. When we started our planning journey in 2018, food was not a priority, but after doing a tasting with Bluewater Kitchen and seeing the potential catering could have on our event, it became a focus and ultimately made our celebration extra special. -

Bluewater catered our August 2021 rehearsal dinner and wedding in Purcellville, VA and they were absolutely amazing. Christina and her team worked with us through a COVID postponement, last minute guest list drop outs and additions, many, many dietary restrictions and special food requests -- all about 6 weeks after Christina gave birth to her son!!! They had a wide array of dinnerware and linen options to choose from, and were more than willing to both execute my very specific vision for certain details and provide suggestions when I needed help. And two days before the wedding, when it turned out the chairs we had originally chosen for the ceremony were in bad shape, they were able to secure an upgrade to a more expensive option for us at no cost. It was truly remarkable how organized and on top of it they were. When it started to monsoon during our outdoor cocktail hour, they quickly pivoted everything under our reception tent and kept the food and drinks flowing as if it was the plan the whole time. The friendly and efficient staff deserves special praise too -- working with half the bar space originally planned due to the rain, they kept the lines moving while joining in to sing along with the band and make the guests laugh. And of course, most importantly, the food was INCREDIBLE!! People are still emailing me about the short ribs and the corn bread. We can't wait to visit Bluewater's market set up soon to re-live the day. 10/10 would recommend! -

I have celiac's disease so my first and bottom line requirement was we needed a full gluten-free menu. Man, the Bluewater kitchen team delivered. With our venue, we were actually required to use Bluewater Kitchen, but it ended out being a blessing (and one less decision we had to make!). I was delighted by the amount of gluten free options and really appreciated working with the chef along the way about making menu substitutions. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely amazing. After my husband and I went to our tasting, we knew the food was going to knock other wedding's out of the park. So many of our guests came up to us that night and since telling us how great everything tasted. And unlike other brides, I actually got to eat at my wedding! That's because the Bluewater Kitchen team had dedicated servers for me and my husband. The staff continually came up to me over the course of the night to make sure I had everything I needed (drinks, appetizers, dessert, more food, anything).
Christina and her team were great to work with - organized, responsiveness, etc. Christina knew we were on a tight budget and I appreciated her feedback on the tablescape. She was candid on when she thought it was worth the splurge vs. things that would really add up cost-wise but wouldn't add much to the decor.
All in all, would highly recommend the Bluewater Kitchen team. Thank you Christina and co for helping making our day come to life! -

Food is so important to my Husband and I, and to a degree was one of the biggest players in our long distance relationship. As a guest at weddings I am constantly frustrated by the quality of food served, lack of imagination, and inconsistency. Frankly- I always felt like friends and family wasted their money. So I knew that my wedding would be a chance to showcase the one thing I know best: food. I wanted a high end dining experience that felt like a giant dinner party and BWK delivered on all accounts. They created a playful and incredibly delicious 3 course meal, amuse bouche (which played as part of the decor as the place setting), and hors d'oeuvres that spoke to our love story and personalities. They worked with us closely on creating a menu so that it met all dietary needs, dared to be adventurous, and created to this date the best meal I've ever had in my life. We were interested in them for their farm-to-table philosophy but were sold at the tasting- oh my we still dream about it. Their staff gave me all of the confidence I needed, were professional day of, but the real artistry is in the cooking and vision of Chef Michael Kozich. The fact that his wife, Christina, is a wedding planner and business partner made planning and execution seamless. Wish we could do it all again!!! -
