Wedding of my DREAMS
Blackwall was everything I wanted and more in a venue. Christina, Emma, and Beth coming in 2 weeks before the wedding and making sure my day was FLAWLESS!! The staff was friendly and helped make our day PERFECT!! I highly recommend. I have not stopped getting RAVE reviews about the food. One person even said it was "the best rockfish they ever had". Thank you Blackwall for everything!

Absolutely perfect
We want to extend our deepest thanks for helping make our wedding day absolutely perfect. The venue was stunning—everything from the setup to the flow of the day was seamless and so beautifully done. You truly brought our vision to life. Our winter wonderland fairytale wedding was nothing short of amazing!
And the food—wow! Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was. From the appetizers to the main course (and everything in between), each bite was incredible. We especially appreciated how attentive and friendly the staff was throughout the day. You made everyone feel welcome and taken care of.

Amazing service and food for an intimate dinner

Excellent Experience
The venue itself was amazing. We choose this venue because of its beautiful aesthetics and minimum decorating we would need. Allison went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day went smoothly. We had to make last minute adjustments due to the weather, but they worked smoothly with my day of coordinators. Had nothing but great reviews for all our guest and vendors on how helpful everyone was the day off.

Best Day Ever!
We had our Wedding Ceremony & Reception at the Blackwall Barn & Lodge, December of 2022. Christina + team at the lodge ensured our day went perfectly, our guests loved the food and the staff was helpful the entire day. From the time we booked to our wedding day, Christina went above and beyond to help organize and execute efforts for our food tasting, rehearsal, and multiple visits to the venue. We are so thankful to her and the entire staff at Blackwall Barn & Lodge.

The Most Perfect Day
Words cannot express how thankful my husband and I are to have hosted our reception at Blackwall Barn and Lodge. As a covid couple who had to reschedule, they were so flexible and accommodating. At no point were there any issues with adjusting spaces, numbers, food items, etc. Christine, their event coordinator, is an absolute gem and I genuinely enjoyed working with her. She calmed my nerves every step of the way. Guests could not stop raving out the beauty of the space, the service from the servers and most importantly, the food. Everyone said they would be back there for dinner. Do yourself a favor and book them!

Best New/Modern/Romantic Reception Venue!

Ceremony: Baltimore, MD | Reception: Gambrills, MD
After getting engaged, I started truly wedding planning Summer 2018. My husband and I were stationed in Germany and came home for a visit. We probably visited over 20 venues in MD & PA without finding “the one”. A few weeks later one of my bridesmaids let me know that they were opening a new reception venue in Gambrills, MD. After speaking to Lara (events coordinator) she was able to send me the renderings and keeping me posted on when they would start booking wedding receptions. My parents visited the venue October 1, 2018 and we submitted our deposit a few weeks later without even seeing it in person!
Lara had excellent communication skills despite my 6 hour time difference. She always kept me up to date and was able to accommodate face to face meetings when we were able to fly back to the US. We had our tasting and the food was absolutely delicious from Chef Joe & team! During this time Lara lets us know that she would be out on maternity leave but her assistant Corrine would be handling our event. Corrine was absolutely excellent and was able to work with us while we in the final weeks of planning.
Corrine & the BWBL staff really gelled well with my other vendors hired to make the reception set up and the event run seamlessly. The Cottage room (aka the war room) was a safe haven for me to privately talk to vendors, take a breath and even use the bathroom away from the hustle of the reception. The Barn (reception area) looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL and set up exactly to my vision. We arrived at 4PM to take Portrait photos out back before the cocktail hour/guest arrival started at 5PM.They went above and beyond with the service from the moment our guests started to arrive. My guests were raving about how beautiful the venue, how delicious the food was and how the drinks were FLOWING all night. Our wedding reception was absolutely perfect. A HUGE thank you to Carlos, Corrine, Lara, Chef Neal, Chef Joe and the entire BWBL staff who staffed our reception, we truly couldn’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done for us.

Amazing Space!
We were so lucky to have Blackwall Barn & Lodge as our wedding venue. The planners made everything so easy, the food was amazing, and the space itself is just stunning. We didn't have to add much decor since it is already gorgeous, so instead we were able to spend those extra dollars on little touches that were personalized to my husband and I! The staff was so helpful and friendly, and the bartender literally ran over to our sweetheart table with a drink when he realized my husband had left his drink outside before the welcome toast. I would absolutely recommend this space to ANYONE!
