We hired Benares and worked with Ranbir Uncle for two events, one at a Gurudwara and another for lunch buffet at The Grove in Cedar Grove. He was wonderful to work with!! We got to do a tasting with our family and choose our dishes. He suggested different things as we were hosting two events. The first day we felt the dishes were a little too spicy for our guests, so we asked them to make the lunch a little less spicy for our main wedding day and they did it with no hesitation. Absolutely an incredible company to work with and I would highly recommend them!

Amazing food and fantastic execution on our wedding day. We had many guests attending our wedding from India and they told me that this was the best Indian wedding food they had ever had, which is very high praise! We were so happy that our guests loved the food and the Benares team overdelivered on expectations. Ranbir was also very easy to work with and was willing to accommodate a lot of the unique requirements our venue had. Overall great experience and amazing food, would highly recommend as a wedding caterer for Indian food!

Benares & Ranbir were a pleasure to work with! From the first tasting we did at the restaurant, he treated us like family and really worked to hear what we envisioned for the menu at our big day. They fully customized our menu to our liking, worked with us as we changed our minds a few times and most importantly, executed flawlessly on the big day. On the day of the event, Ranbir made sure to come check in with us and sneak us some bites as we were greeting our guests.

Even today, we have guests calling us, raving about the delicious food at our wedding. Cannot recommend Benares and Ranbir enough! They were absolutely, finger-lickingly delicious!

Benares was incredible! True professionals who provide some of the best Indian food to be had in the tri-state area and THE BEST service. Ranbir went out of his way to create a custom menu to accommodate all our guests' and family members' dietary restrictions (celiac, dairy intolerance, etc), and our guests raved about how it was both the best wedding food and best Indian food they had had, ever. Ranbir worked closely with us and our venue to set up a prep kitchen (no kitchen facilities at our venue) and incredible four-sided buffet with a South Indian (aka dosas and idlis) live station. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for both the best service and the best-tasting food one can get, for any event you might have.

On the wedding day there are a few key details that create a standout wedding: food and dj. For our wedding day, Shreekant and the Baluchis team went provided a 5 star menu that was talked about fondly for several months later. Shreekant was accessible and provided great guidance in structuring a full menu but also was open to the suggestions we wanted to cater for our party. The food was so delicious there are few words to describe. Having attended many indian weddings, there are many pitfalls for how the food can go wrong - too much oil, too much masala, too bland - it is a fine art to deliver savory indian food which is found at Baluchis. Thank you for the entire team for providing such a wonderful meal on the most memorable day of our families' lives.

Great overall experience with mix of cuisines provided effortlessly.

Baluchis provided excellent food for our wedding. Our guests enjoyed the food thoroughly. We had a variety of menu choices to select from, and had the opportunity to have several food tasting sessions. Our caterer offered us South Indian dishes as well, including a dosa station for our cocktail hour, which I was glad to have as my family is South Indian. I was at first a little wary of having a buffet station instead of sit-down service, but the dishes were presented very elegantly, so that the dinner certainly had a refined feel. Our caterer worked closely with us, was responsive to our questions and menu changes, offered pertinent suggestions, and was very professional throughout. We certainly feel Baluchis was a great choice for our wedding--it was one of the highlights for most people.
I would advise any brides out there to make sure to have portions of the dinner packed away for you and your husband, in case you don't have time to eat during the actual reception. Such was the case for us, as my husband and I ended up being too busy during the reception to find time to eat. So we missed out on that part of the wedding, unfortunately; but our caterer was kind enough to offer us a free dinner later with several items from the wedding menu.
Overall, an excellent choice.
