With a talent for catching beautiful lighting and stunning angles, owner Bo creates wedding photos you will cherish forever. Bo enjoys producing light-filled, classic, and heartfelt wedding photos.

Experience
Photography has been Bo’s passion for many years. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and began working for a local photography studio. Later she joined a more elite photography company where she worked for over six years honing her knowledge and skills as a professional photographer. Bo took her experience and established Bashful Captures. Her work has been featured by several leaders in the wedding industry.

Bo is an amazing photographer!! We were able to work with her for our engagement shoot and made us feel so comfortable and had so much fun! I researched for months looking for the perfect wedding photographer, and I couldn't have been more satisfied with Bo's work. As you can see by looking through her portfolio, she has a great eye for details, and she's able to capture them in such a sophisticated, romantic way.

From our first meeting, Bo put us at ease. Our engagement photo session was relaxing and fun, and Bo had great ideas about photogenic spots around Manhattan. We never felt too staged or "fake." On the day of our wedding, Bo was calm and collected, even in the midst of scheduling changes and delays, which made us feel more comfortable in front of the camera and trust her 100%. I also had pretty specific requests about the day-of photography, and she adjusted her schedule accordingly.

Most importantly, the photos that we received after our wedding were PERFECT. We love flipping through our wedding album to remember all the little details that Bo had so masterfully captured on our wedding day. Thanks again, Bo!!!

Best Photographer!

I found Bo on Instragram while searching for a wedding photographer and fell in love with her beautiful, soft, romantic images. We hired her for our wedding day and were thrilled! We could not have been happier with our photos. When we first discussed on the phone, she was so easy to talk with and answered all our questions. The day of was seamless, even with modifications to the schedule due to another vendor running late. She was a true professional through the whole thing. And the images are just stunning! We highly recommend and hope to use her again in the future!

As I look back on our wedding, the images that Bo created and captured tell our story in such a special, romantic and natural way. She calmed my nerves, she is detail oriented and follows-thru on everything. I am confident that nothing falls through the cracks in the world of Bashful Captures. It is her nature. She is a true professional and has such a high level of personal commitment to every project. Above all - her taste level, romantic nature and respect for individual style is unmatched, in my opinion. I have worked in the NYC fashion industry for 20 years and one thing that i learned early on remains true: good taste stands the test of time. Thanks Bo 🥰

I found Bo on Instagram as I started to plan my wedding - I love the fine art style, the unique/ interesting composition, but what made I choose Bo is how I see the couples look at each other in her photos - with so much love and care for each other. She’s good at finding the angle where people look good yet so natural and just feel like themselves, and after reviewing many many insta accounts, in my opinion that’s hard to come by!
We’re happy to have done the engagement shoot which gives us a sense of what would happen on the wedding day - My husband always has squinty eyes in the sun 😅 and is uncomfortable posing for photos, but Bo made us feel really comfortable and the photos came out so cute!
Throughout the planning process, Bo is so responsive and always there to help / give me advice when needed, from what to wear, order of events etc. I’m so very appreciative of her❤️
On the wedding day, we had a tight schedule but Bo was such a leader! 😎 she knew the timeline by heart, made sure we stay on time, gave strong directions, and got all our lovely photos taken in time!

Recommend a thousand times!

I recommend Bo and her team a thousand times as I've had 3 sessions with Bo: engagement, elopement, and wedding session. I absolutely love all of them and Bo has captured every moment where me and my husband look the best (especially portraits). She also captured some of the most beautiful/touching candid moments during our wedding which is super special. Also she has been so kind and flexible as we were one of those covid planning couples. Don't hesitate - book Bo Shim for your wedding weekend before someone else does!

I cannot recommend Bo Shim enough! A year has passed since our NYC wedding and my husband and I are still beyond thrilled to have worked with her. Bo is everything you want a fine arts wedding photographer to be - meticulous, flexible, and thoughtful. She exhibited these qualities time and time again. Not only during the wedding, but also during our engagement shoot, the planning process, as well as well after the wedding. Our wedding (like so many others) called for many pivots and obstacles due to the pandemic. Bo handled them gracefully and flowed in and around a HECTIC and CHAOTIC process like a breath of fresh air.

I won't speak to her photographs - her portfolio speaks for itself! Photos last a forever and milestones such as weddings are once in a lifetime. Do yourself a favor and hire someone who understands and values that! You will find that in Bo Shim.

P.S. We plan to work with Bo for future non-wedding shoots. How often do you find vendors who make you feel that comfortable in front of the camera? :)

The best wedding photographer in NYC

Our wedding was absolutely perfect, thanks to Bo. She was the best photographer we could ask for; she immediately made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. She is an expert at capturing candids and all your emotions, and you barely even notice her presence during the ceremony & reception. Then, she sends you the best photos you'll ever see (and *so many* photos!). Truly 10000/10, I'd give her a bajillion stars if I could. I can't recommend her enough. Bo is the best!!!!
