I'm Helen Jody Lin, a San Diego-based adventure photographer and filmmaker with over 10 years of experience capturing love stories around the world.
At Anchor & Pine Collective, I specialize in documenting beautifully unscripted elopements, weddings, and heartfelt portraits inspired by the great outdoors. The best photographer for our intimate wedding on Mt. Hood!
We hired Helen/Anchor and Pine Collective to photograph our wedding on Mt. Hood in Oregon this spring. It was an intimate wedding and also sort of a destination wedding for us, since we're from Illinois and had family coming from all over the U.S. and Canada.
We talked to a few photographers before making a decision and Helen stood out right away—she's super organized and on top of things, but also really relaxed and easy to work with. We didn't know the area at all, so she helped us pick a venue, vendors, and planned out the schedule with us. She also kept things on track on the big day so we didn't have to worry about anything!
And the photos are beautiful—it's been so fun to relive our wedding day through all the small moments she captured. We'd recommend Anchor and Pine to anyone looking for a wedding photographer in the PNW/Southern California.

Highly Recommend
Helen was the best photographer we could've asked for! Firstly, the intro & check-in calls leading up to our wedding were so helpful. She went above & beyond her responsibilities to help us put together a day-of timeline. The wedding day went so smoothly - she kept us on schedule (which we always need help with) while still giving us plenty of time & room to enjoy our guests' company. And we could not be more in love with the photos - the first look, the ceremony, the reception, the portraits, the venue, all the details - Helen did an awe-inspiring job of capturing all the special moments of the day, and truly made it look like a fairytale. More than a wedding photographer.
From the moment we first contacted her Helen was like a personal wedding planner for us. We were coming from out of town and she helped us with locations, times, clothes, dinner choices and some fun activities around the ceremony. She was amazing to work with and helped us capture some very treasured memories.

Calm as a cucumber during a pandemic!
Helen has been a dream to work with. As with many pandemic weddings, we had to schedule then reschedule then totally change the plan gain. We couldn't have picked a more kind, flexible and talented photographer. From the first meeting, Helen had great communication and guided us through the process. Every step in the process was easy and executed with care. The photos turned out great and she was extremely thoughtful to capture the small things like flowers and family photos. We've actually hired her again to capture our pandemic-delayed reception. Highly recommend!

Wonderful photographer and excellent photos!
We booked Helen to capture photos to celebrate our recent engagement. She helped us choose a phenomenal location, was very knowledgeable on the key time to shoot, and led us through the session with warmth and patience. She was very easy to work with, flexible on timing, and very punctual. Photos came back quickly (within a few weeks, as quoted/expected) and truly were lovely; they highlighted her keen ability to set the stage, choose great lighting, and capture intimate moments. An all-around excellent experience, and we would choose to work with her again!

Highly Recommend
Helen was fantastic! We decided to elope at Mt. Hood during the pandemic. She was great at helping us figure out the best way to stream to our family and friends who could not be with us. We are not people who like to be in front of a camera and she made us feel very comfortable. She worked great with our schedule setting up zoom calls before the event and was ahead of schedule in getting us our gallery of photos. Which turned out great! We would highly recommend Helen to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Helen is THE BEST- recommend 100%
Helen was everything we could have hoped for and more for our elopement. She was proactive and met with us twice before the big day, despite the short window of time between booking her and our ceremony date. She was extremely patient and flexible and made suggestions for the big day, since we were still up in the air until a couple of days before. She truly went with the flow and was up for anything. Despite hitting terrible traffic on the way to and from our destination, Helen was patient, upbeat and made the experience so natural and fun for us. We both left wanting to be friends with her beyond just this day :) And oh yeah, her photos are TO DIE FOR, truly.
