There is nobody better than Alexis. Period.
Oddly enough, I had known I wanted Alexis to photograph my future wedding before I had even met Colin because she had taken the engagement and wedding photos for a friend of mine, Catelyn Felts (now Skinner). I loved Alexis’s work so much, that her talent was the only thing certain for the future of any wedding planning for me. Obviously, I met Colin, and everything changed, including how seriously I had to take wedding planning (haha). I got lucky enough to have Alexis to photograph it, too, and she captured our love story, PERFECTLY. These photos couldn’t illustrate it better- BEAUTIFUL and REAL!
Like it did and has for many, Covid-19 caused us to change our plans several times and take extra precautions, but it also unexpectedly snowed over 10 inches on our big day. The electricity was out for days before and still, we all continued as scheduled. Alexis and Brad drove out to the middle of nowhere (see Terrell County, TX for reference), anyway- regardless of road closures, power outages or insane weather- and even helped us to shovel snow before ever photographing us exchanging vows. The sun went down in a hurry with only 10 minutes to spare for our couple shots in the snow. Even with the chaos, no detail went untouched.
A few weeks later (per Alexis’s suggestion), we decided to also have an adventure session at Enchanted Rock State Park (near Fredericksburg, TX) where we all hiked to the top and got more incredible- CINEMATIC- shots at what looks like the edge of the world. At this point, my husband and I truly can’t decide which ones we like more, nor which photos to put on our stationary. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we love all of the images and feel so grateful that we have so many gorgeous pictures that capture this special moment in our lives.
Truly, no matter the circumstance, Alexis can find beauty and capture it wonderfully, in a way that will be cherished timelessly for years to come. I will say it again: Alexis is a magician with a camera. She is an effortless master of setting and light, she is a GENIUS!
