I rarely write reviews, but I was so pleased with how Amy Gerber styled my hair and makeup on my wedding day, that I felt the need to share my feedback with other 'brides to be' desperately searching for a reliable stylist on such a memorable day of their life.

Not living in NYC, I didn't have the opportunity before the day to have a hair and makeup trial so I just had to hope that all went well on the day! Amy kindly popped to my hotel the afternoon before to talk through the kind of looks that might suit my features and also complement my dress. She was extremely professional and clearly had a lot of good experience within the industry.

She arrive promptly the next at the hotel and immediately put me at ease before the wedding with her relaxed and friendly manner. She immediately got to work on my hair and makeup and created a beautiful 'up do' which I couldn't have been more pleased with. What was even more amazing was that it stayed in place for the entire day, no mean feat since I married outside in November on a breezy day!! My makeup was perfect too. She made my skin look fresh and enhanced my eyes beautifully, so I really did feel special on my wedding day.

I look back on the photos of the day and can hardly believe how glamourous my hair and makeup looked, I can't thank Amy enough. I would definitely trust her on your wedding day to deliver the style you want and will love.

Amy was incredible! I called her on a referral from a friend less than 3 weeks before my wedding as this was the ONE thing I just could not get my act together on re: planning (and had had a BAD hair trial from someone else... I looked like Martha Washington.... for real!). Just my luck, Amy was available and able to fit me in for a trial before the wedding as well!

I met her at her adorable studio on the UWS and we talked about what I was looking for - wasn't sure if I wanted my hair up or down (actually knew I wanted to wear it down but my hair is NOT weather or humidity proof by any stretch and we were having nasty, humid, rainy weather at the time). She suggested we go with an up-do for the time being and then I could always decide day of. Immediately, she went to work. Within an hour, I had a FAB up-do. My biggest issue HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH AMY'S WORK, I just really wanted to wear my hair down.

So day of, by the grace of something, we had decent weather (a rainbow in fact after some showers) and Amy did my hair in curls down but away from my face. I L-O-V-E-D it! It was everything I wanted and more...

She also did my mom's hair without a trial beforehand as my mom lives out-of-town and her hair looked to die for!

I have been going to Amy for about a year, and was lucky to also have her as my stylist for the wedding. She did a fantastic job, arrived exactly at 7 am while traveling 2 hours to our destination, re-did my MIL's hair without extra charges, and is just all around a great pleasure to work with. Amy Gerber has been my stylist and dear friend ever since I moved to New York City four years ago. When my boyfriend proposed to me and we decided to have our wedding back home in Portland, Oregon, I knew that I had to have Amy with me for my big day. I had a stylist in Oregon whom I had gone to for years prior to moving, but she was no Amy. Amy is truly a visionary and an artist in what she creates. Her passion for her craft shines through in how fabulous she makes her clients look and feel. I not only wanted Amy to do my hair and make up for the wedding, but I also asked her to do the hair of all five bridemaids and my soon to be husband.

As weddings go, they are not without there moments of stress. Amy arrived in Portland almost 8 hours late after having 2 flights cancelled and multiple delays due to the weather in New York. When Amy finally arrived, her luggage did not. As I was panicking over the fact that all of Amy's supplies were 3,000 miles away and the wedding was a day away, Amy remianed calm and focused. She called beauty supply stores and schools around the area to see where she could procure all she needed and then took a cab around a city she had never been to before. Amy's proffessionalism, coolness under pressure, and persistance saved my big day and my nerves.

Amy spent the entire day of the wedding with our bridal party in the hotel. She got all six of us ready and then met my fiance in the lobby to do his hair as well. As if all that wasn't enough, she then touched me up prior to the ceremony and throughout the reception. Everyone commented on how amazing my hair looked and how perfect it went with the style of my dress. I felt and looked amazing that day thanks to Amy.

I could not have asked for any one better to be part of this special day! Amy was able to create amazing hair styles for each of the girls in my wedding party as well as the moms. From my 13 year old niece to my MIL, Amy captured their natural beauty and made them feel special all at the same time. So often wedding hairstyles are too glam and don't reflect the personality of the girl, we did not have that problem at all (nor did everyone look alike).

Not only was Amy thoughtful in her approach to each of us, she worked efficiently and with humor. On such a stressful day with so many personalities to contend with, she not only made me look amazing, she also helped me keep my nerves in check and the wedding party on task.

I would recommend Amy 1000 times over. Her talent with hair and makeup is undeniable.

Amy worked wonders on my usually limp, fine hair... She created a beautiful updo that was simple and elegant, that matched my dress and my jewelry, and that held up admirably throughout the day and night.

She was also a pleasure to work with, trekking out to my hard-to-reach neighborhood without complaint and distracting me with pleasant banter while I pretended I wasn't nervous. She worked quickly. She was unfazed by the chaotic buzz of friends and family. And then, suddenly, she was done, and she packed up and got out of the way.

There are so many moving parts at even the simplest wedding, and it's a real gift to find vendors you can trust completely. I recommend her without hesitation.

Amy did an incredible job on my hair and she was a true pleasure to work with. From the time of the trial to the wedding day itself, she was very helpful, friendly, and professional. On the morning of the wedding, her sense of humor and calm nature helped to foster the relaxed environment I was looking for. Amy created the hairstyle I had dreamed about. I received numerous compliments throughout the night, and it looked just as great by the end of the evening. My bridesmaids and the mothers were also extremely happy with their hairstyles.
